Wait till you see the Turkey necks. I would hate to meet the owner in the dark. I have pack in the office feezer (for emergencies) let me have a look. Right the necks are 3.32 a Kg, ;) this pack weighs 1.520 kg and there is only 4 turkey necks yes 4 in the pack. there is always 4 and the weight ranges from 1.300 to nearly 2 kgs each pack. It is like a very long think lamb neck. Warning the bones are as tough as me. I have to sharpen the cleaver each time before I chop one up.

Katek, I have noticed more and more Turkey necks for sale in all the Wollies stores in Brisbane. Brookside has them right over the chicken necks they are in a non transparent sealed white plastic bag. Last Saturday there were 6 packs left I believe they are becoming a regular item. ;)

Alpha Keri is available from the Chemist. It was for Gozilla with his dry itch skin it worked, I rinsed all the dogs with it and it has made Lillies skin less dry and flaky and her fur so shiny. I spent a lot of money checking her blood for thyroid and other complaints but it seems here it is a case of be patient she may not be wearing the ladybird clips in her hair this Christmas but next christmas it could be another story. This one never gets a stomach either, even if her legs were hollow they are too thin to contain all the food she eats in a day. two meals and countless snacks a day. My others would kill to get half of what she gets.

Hi I have the same problem with my ex rescue below. She eats as much as my dogs 3 times her body weight. It can be a problem to get them to the correct weight if they are like Lillie and real I give her puppy food and little extra fat, sardines some of the oil. For her coat I mix up Alpha Keri Oil as per the bottle and use as a final rinse. This was suggested on this forum and it works a treat. I have also been told because she lost a lot of fur when she was starving it could take years for all the hair folicles to recover and start growning hair again. You are doing the best you can Gigi and slowly continue that way.

I had to go to my vet last weekend and I asked about ticks and yes he thought my two should have tick prevention. I love this vet as he always gives you a reason or facts. These are his facts. He works at Pet ER a lot, normally by this time they would have had 12 tick cases this year 80 yes 80 cases. 76 survived as the new serum is very much improved. The other 4 died or had to be put to sleep because of medical or monetary reasons. They had tick collars on before their feet hit the surgery floor.

It has taken two years of trail and error and in Summer when he is on Prednil he can put on a few kilos. He is till on it as I would like to get him down to 7 kilos. His only problem now is you can lift up the loose skin very easily. I wonder if there are any exteme makeover reality shows for animals? He could do with a skin tuck. His diet is mainly brown rice cooked till tender then at night a scoop of this, freshly pulped vegetables with raw chopped turkey necks, yoghurt and Sasha blend. In the morning 6 pieces of Kibble a greenie to munch on while I am away. If he gets any treats from me it is a size of a corn kernel. One day a week is a fasting day. I use Turkey or Kangaroo meat as they are the leanest. The ratio is 75% vegies and rice and 24% meat or fish. He is better for it. Does not snore and walks 30 minutes morning and evening and more walks on the weekends. Also in summer I sometimes get Davis Gelatin prepare his food for a few days and set in Jelly it fills them up gives them more protein and they really love it. sometimes I freeze the food into cubes they love that as well. I cannot use bones on Lillie as she has pocket gintivitis I have something I put in the water to improve her gums I will go and note it down this weekend if you wish. She will also happily chew on the greenies so that may work as well. And the Dentabones also. 2 of my dogs are banned from eating bones by the vet so this is what I use to clean their teeth. I believe you can also buy biscuits that do this as well.

And dont forget to wash the floor before you let your fur kids in as they absorb the chemicals on the floors through their paws. I take everything outside that I can as well and wash their bedding in the hotest water I can while the bombs do their work.

Get a cotton bud dip in weak cold tea clean the eye from the inside out. Use a different side for each eye. Then another ball to rub on the stains don't know why but it works. Take a while but it works, and it is natural.

Never heard of Barf till I came here. Queries about my dogs allergies ( I only had one then), medication weight problems kept on coming back to food and BARF. Bought "give a dog a bone" and now am a convert. I think I have the vets nearly there as well.

I don't know where you are but ring the vet again and tell him how worried you are. If he is still not seeing you till tomorrow do you have a pet emergency centre near you. You will find them in the yellow pages or take her to a 24hr vet or another vet who will see you now. Good luck

If you can find a chiro that treats dogs two treatment was all it took to fix up my dog against the vets pills and 6 weeks in a crate with minimal movement. Good luck

Certain breeds are not able to handle different medications someone once mentioned collies. Tinetan Spaniels can become very ill on Drontal. Revolution makes one of my dogs very sick. Hope this vet finds the cause. Fingers crossed.

Noisymina, How come you have no need for flea control. I thought fleas were world wide? Just that's all.

My dogs are due for the vaccs. However I am thinking of having the Titer test done to see if it is required as there immune systems seems to go down for months after the injections. I had queried this on the forum before and it was mentioned more than once mainly by the breeders that a Titer test will show the amounts of anti-bodies in the bloodstream to see if they need a booster.
