  1. I was using the Ian Billinghurst Barf patties and was not keen owing to the grains. Then I thought about it these are really sprouts a different kettle of fish. All my dogs love it. However just to satisfy myself I use both of the products and because my lot are couch potatoes of the best calibre I place extra vegies into the mix. All the Pet Cafes stock it.
  2. 3 glourious months you had BUndy to show you how special you were. RIP old fellow.
  3. Poor Lillie has to have it done externally fortnightly. She shivers when she sees the vet but no other sign and she is so much happier later. He will not let me do her as she is so tiny 2.2kgs. I would try externally first. Also the vet told me to use Physcillum husks in her food and I have to admit the visits are getting monthly now. Hopefully as she is getting more and more into the barf diet it could be much longer.
  4. I get my in Woolworths in the healthdepartment it is the Organic Apple cider vinegar. I give it for health reasons they love it in their water. In fact they don't like drinking it without.
  5. Haven my vets contacted the distributors and they still had stock he got me a few to tide me over. Ask you vet if he can do that for you re DAP. I swear by it better than rescue remedy anything but not for a short trip as it has to be started weeks before. I use it to keep my dogs calm when rescues and boarders are around.
  6. I cannot walk my dog on wet grass as this is what happens to him. If I walk him in the evening when there is now dew he is much better. I am trying to get some decent dog shoes. Any hints guys?
  7. Same here Blind Chi. They loved it and I wondered why they were porking out then I read the calories. Lots more grated carrot was added.
  8. None of the above worked for Godzy who had a very dry skin. Some one on the breeders forum suggested Alph Kera Oil (for human) a squeeze in the last rinse. Dog gone if it did not work. ETA: to add have you thought of baby wipes?
  9. Not in Queensland I can assure you. I just bought a rabbit again yesterday it was stamped with red dye and also marked "farmed" rabbit. When I bought the first one a year ago I was amazed how white the meat was and how fleshy it was. I vaguely remembered that they had dark flesh. ;) Also bought duck and the rabbit for the dogs was more expensive.
  10. may I ask what are satin balls? Can a small dog be able to be fed them? thinks of Miss Lillie in the photo below. She is skinnier than that, its just she is hunched up.
  11. You have more jumpers on the way Rozzie. One owing to a fatal judgement in wool measurements and tension one that would fit a very preggers staffy or a very fat golden oldie. Will try to send soon. Now I am having a break knitting lemon and purple coats I wonder who they would be for?
  12. Lillie because of lack of fur and body fat shiver if it gets below 19 degrees so I have knitted a few for her one in cotton as well. She has a Santa T shirt she lives in. Godzy wears a smoking jacket till he goes to bed. Gidget has such thick fur she will not wear anything though now she is nearly 13 and has a twing of arthritis I have knitted her leg warmers a la "Oliva Newton John" to keep the joints warm and she struts around in them. Lets get Physical, lets get physical ;) the red mohair ones are her favourites.
  13. After being removed from Prednil lost 5 kgs. Now he has lost another 1kg and has saggy baggy skin.
  14. Godzilla is on Prednil every summer because of allergies. It makes them sluggish and prone to put on weight also cut down on the fats as it also predisposes them to pancreaititis. Also be very gentle with weaning them off. As Godzy was on one a day when it was time to wean them off I then for 4 days give half a day then a quarter a day for 4 again then a quarter every other day twice. The vets says one every other day and then stop. I found that too harsh I told them what I do and they are agreeable. I believe the cortisone is used for various problems not just allergies. Hope your guy is ok.
  15. KEZ, thank you about the soaking to stop bones splintering Godzilla is around 7kgs but he can still crunch a lamb shank to sharp splinters will start soaking. Thank you again.
  16. Has he a short nose. My dogs do that because of a "hyperplastic Laryanx?" In summer and after exercise and if overweight much more so. Actually JIm or Jed recorded it and it is like a reverse cough.
  17. Whew - where is the wipes sweat from brow? Good news.
  18. If any one has instructions for a tiny dog 2.3 kilos please send to me. I was going to ask Ricey but as poor Lillie's bottom is about this size and she has ruptured anal pinchers (maybe because of someone self administration) the vet only expresses them from the outside. I know she needs to be done again as Godzilla is very interested in her at present and also there is a sickly sweet smell present again. Edited to say Ricey it seems you have both methods so will email you.
  19. Yes please. When Godzilla had blood in his stool last weekend I picked up the sample in the doggy bag picked up Godzilla and ran to the Vet. I hope you have gone to the vets and can give us and update.
  20. I was told to put a little moistened Physicullum husks* in her food and no dried dog food or to much bones. The poor thing has this problem and also ruptured anal pincher muscles so for her a double whammy. She is tiny around 2kgs and the vet will not let me express them. I did ask about removing them and was told not a good idea. I would go seek another opinion. *The cheapest was at the supermarket in the health food section.
  21. Rozzie, Hope she just had a grumpy day. Glad the tablets are working. As long as she has quality of life I would not worry about the Prednozine.
