  1. You have about 6 weeks to get some and stock up the freezer - she says running out the door to beat you to it
  2. Thanks for the heads up Mas1981 goat will no longer be available from A&D Pet Supllies after a couple of weeks - I have been told they are closing down
  3. Yes we have gone down the immunotherapy route - well we are 3+ years in and it has been a huge success. Getting off the injections seems to be more of an art rather than a science though.
  4. As much as I hate needles, sometimes I think we could all do with an injection of motivation ;) Let us know if we can help ;)
  5. Bedazzled and I trained in the rain last night and guess what......... WE ALL GOT WET
  6. Hi Ptolomy How much do you sprinkle on top of their food? I am open to any suggestions with regard to feeding as I am still unsure which is the best way. I would be guessing and saying 1/2 - 3/4 of a tea-spoon - nothing is measured.
  7. I feed them to my kids dogs too - inconsistencies in the way I do it - just sprinkling them on the top of their food. I don't give them to Beans anymore as when I started her skin flared.
  8. Great to hear that you had a better night Rubystar and were prepared to step in and only ask Ruby to do what she was comfortable with Ruby must have been speaking with Lexi on Sunday - Lexi took off for the dumbbell over the jump before being sent - yep who needs a handler
  9. Thanks for this - as she rushes off to have a look
  10. All my books, DVD's and notes are all in storage and I am a visual person - so would need somebody to show me 2 x 2 weavers
  11. Last night was Ciders second night at agility and I did nothing but smile and laugh for the entire hour. I just loved her enthusiasm. Have now ticked bendy tunnel thanks to the i-squeak ball, and full sized dog walk off her list of things to try, we also had the see-saw resting on 2 tables and had it tipping slightly as she ran across it, which didn't worry her at all. After all this I thought that she would go home buggered - but nope she was full of beans and wanted to play for most of the night I think I have created a monster Need to give the weavers some thought as I have only ever taught the channel method.
  12. GULP - Good Luck We look forward to hearing all about it
  13. Ah thank you Can anyone give me any food brand names that I can look into that maybe similar to the NatureDiet? If possible I'd like to get some ordered while here and delivered direct to Byford so they have some decent food from the word go. You could try Barf Patties - you used to be able to get them from City Farmers or Better Pets and Gardens
  14. With my 8 week old puppy I started teaching focus and heel position by - when she was sitting me stepping next to her so she was in heel position, and waiting for her to look up to see what I was doing, I then clicked and treated. I would repeat the click and treat several times before stepping away. I did this multiple times a day for 10-15 seconds each time. In a really short period of time I was able to step next to her and she would automatically look up and I could gradually extend the time out before clicking and then treating. It worked a treat and I will do it again with my next baby.
  15. Ness - I lost my fronts and finishes in open with Lexi on the weekend - on the recall she came in and presented in a position somewhere to my left between front and heel. In her case it was part of the meltdown process, I am guessing due to a lack of reinforcement and is the first thing I lose.
  16. Wow 12 years old and still running - I love the oldies - well done
  17. I did get the low down from Zoe - and I take my hat off to her Many people would think twice before jumping into a cold dam fully clothed to help a dog out and it wasn't even her dog.
  18. I will have a toller puppy in quarantine around the same time as your kids will be there (July 19th) - so I will keep my eye open for you Good luck with the move.
  19. Well done Fetchindawgs on your novice win at retrieving yesterday I hear all 10 novice dogs finished which was a great effort.
  20. Believe me - Sit stays become and even bigger problem when you combine them with UD stays at the same trial and it always works out that you do UD stays first I actually think it is easier for a dog to do sit stays when there are things going on around them - it keeps them occupied - I find my kids are more inclined to drop when nothing is happening. Not sure what other think. If my kids drop during a sit stay at a trial - I will ask to be excused from the down stay. I used to take them out of the ring and ask them for another sit stay - BUT of course they would sit there and not move and then I would reward them. But what message was this giving them - hmm that it was OK to fail the first one because I will give you another go. So now if they fail they get put back in the car with no reward and I go and beat my head against the nearest brick wall At training we tend to mix up the stays - sometimes doing a down first and then a sit, or doing a stand stay inbetween the sit and the down. Have to be honest and say we very rarely time any of our training stays. As you can see from the brags thread - sit stays have been an issue for me - so please disregard all of the above
  21. Moo managed 2 sit stays in 2 days and fell over the line to win open today Cutting Beans some slack...... she was lovely today, although did go walkabouts half way through the heelwork and ended up on my right losing 5 for that little blonde moment - she ended up passing and finishing 4th - but it was her attitude I was most pleased with. and her doing stays with Rubystar was the icing on the cake
  22. Today I lost a point for my boy licking his willy in the down stay - hmm not sure what I am going to do about that one - I thought that was one toy he could take in with him and not be pinged for it
  23. Hmm maybe she is out training and practicing out of sight stays
  24. Well done ValleyCBR on your first ever points yesterday - never mind about today - there is always another show Thanks again for lending me your grooming tools yesterday too - "note to self" - I promise to come more prepared next time.
