  1. Fingers verrrrry crossed here that all goes according to your plan.
  2. Pure breed forum etc... so I keep quiet Aussie3, each to their own! I parent 3 standard ABs and could not ask for better. I did about 2 years worth of research, made my choice and continue to be very happy with my pack after 6 years. Da Babes are happy, healthy, have fantastic temperaments and are spoilt rotten. No 'poor bloody dogs' here. Oh yes... I do not breed and I am not associated with any AB club
  3. I'll be thinking and praying in my agnostic way that he gets to you asap. You can do magic! We know you can.... just look at Tango
  4. Thank you for that cavNrott. I'll try your method next time it happens
  5. Reverse sneezing can be harmful to the dog. Few years ago, my girl had a huge reverse sneeze fit during morning bush walk. She kept retching and her nose was bleeding. At that time I did not know of the ‘hand-on-nose’ treatment. I stopped the fit by blowing into her nose - first aid training came handy Now, I have a much more hygienic/calmer way of handling her reverse sneezing events that happen about 1-2 per year. (BTW her soft palate is absolutely fine)
  6. I don't know what causes it but I know how to stop it Just in case the info is useful: Place you hand over the nose for a few secs. This "treatment" stops reverse sneezing almost immediately.
  7. Don't worry.... In my experience, dogs (like us hoomans ) have "moods". It seems to me that she is feeling a bit insecure - fight/flight thing. I'd continue the normal routine but let her know that running up to people to tell them off is very bad manners. I am sure you have a way of telling her that something is not acceptable - use the same "way" for ease of communication
  8. My 2 bully girls were chosen by the breeder and I could not ask for better. The boy became a FF in no time at all. I fell for him :D but most people seem to do too so it's probably his survival skill rather than bonding
  9. My 3 bullies get daily face/fold clean with malacetic wipes. I get them from vetandpetdirect.com.au. They work ok.
  10. YES+++ to fish oil & joint guard. Periodical cartophen injections work a treat!
  11. Very much so! My 3 darlink-bullies either love or tolerate other dogs regardless of their shape or size.
  12. DITTO DITTO DITTO much to the disgust of my OH!! Sonia Same here... + I don't want to know
  13. Sweet Dumpling chose us to teach us love, start my dog rescue adventure, show me how to spend every cent on useless things for the dogs and to deprive us of humans-only holidays. HonBun came because my Sweet Dumpling needed a dog-friend. She's taught us that charm, super personality and master communication skills are very useful. Her beautiful doglet smiles and happines are essential to our well-being. KI, my darling FF, came to tell me that I cannot foster dogs. He's a clown - we got laughter, joy, youthful exuberance, civil disobedience and buckets of "un-expectations". He's brought us boundless love and the need to be loved right back.
  14. I'd buy one today! KI's bite makes it difficult for him to get the full joy of gnawing lamb or turkey necks. Poor "darlink" tries his best... alas without much success. His momma Anna has to hold the "bone" thingo for him. We do it on a weekly basis. Although it keeps his pearly whites in top condition it is somewhat unpleasant for vego Anna ;)
  15. I was advised by our vet that the 'older' generation of ah is more effective for skin issues. So, polaramine is the drug of choice when the spring season happens to be too much to handle for my baby's immune system.
  16. I'd love to do more but I take such a long time to finish a square. X-clumsy fingers here Maybe, you can keep me in mind for the next DOL/rescue project.
  17. Give him a quick-eze tablet or 2. It does help. Does he prefer pasta cooked in broth? You can make rice or pasta smell/taste like chicken by 1. Cooking a chicken or turkey broth 2. Cooking rice/pasta in the broth to absorb all yummies and smells Anyway, it worked for us
  18. Hi Jed So good to see your posts. I am sure Phoenix will be the Best of the Best. You have bred her and you have saved her. Phoenix is hope and new beginnings. She is perfect! BTW, maybe hoarding material things is overrated? Life is great since I've started hoarding friendships, memories and feelings rather than things. Get well beautiful Lady. All will be well.
  19. HonBun is a pancreatitis survivor. (Her human mum, aka Anna, caused the problem by dishing out Orijen on regular basis **hits self here**) Our vet's suggestions seemed to work a treat: 1. Week 1 - Rice boiled with green & red vegs and chicken breast. No fat at all 2. Week 2 - More chicken breast + as per week 1 3. Week 3 - Add a bit of dry food (we use Holistic Eagle Pack) 4. Week 4 - Add a bit of raw, very lean, human grade beef. 5. Week 5 - Raw beef/chicken breast + dry food HonBun is now 100% ok. She is still a bit sensitive to fatty foods - That's easily managed. If things get difficult a) charcoal tablets are magic b) quick-eze tables from supermarket are good at fixing indigestion probs
  20. Jed, so wonderful, so fantaaaaaastic to read your post again. I've been a bit busy with work, doglets and doing my clumsy embroidery for the quilt. I have not stopped thinking of you every single day, please keep getting better and better and better.
