I use matress protectors when pups r tiny ,with vet bed on top when they start coming out to *P*reduce the covering to half way & place newspaper for toileting area

Couldnt fault the service caring & devotion I recieve from All the staff @ my vet clinic !!!! They know who I am!!as soon as the phone is picked up . If the vets r busy, They will ring me back ,If its not an emergency ,if it is, im in like flint !!!!! The first person u talk to, be it receptionist /vet nurse @ the desk ,I feel is of extreme inportance & should be qualified to ansew most ???

warmth is of the upmost inportance !!do not let them chill ,check they r hydrated & if not speak with yr vet re rehydration . If mum isnt toileting them do it yourself ,after each feed with warm water & cotton wool balls . Add a little natural yogurt to thier feeds.(with aphidoficus)If they r gaining steadily continue with the formular u r using ,if not ,there is a puppy formular in leeburg site (bottol feeding babies ) Also i found human premmie baby teats better than the annimal ones . be sure to burp yr babies after each feed . Good luck ,Its hard yakka but so worth it !!

This thread has bought more tears to my eyes ,but I have to say,strangely enough they r tears of relief that I found the courage to let my darling old Bella go with dignty . she was still eating ,but spending more time asleep than awake ,lost one eye ,completely deaf /senile ,but still continent . I had to take another bitch of mine to the vets on new yrs eve, as over xmas I found tumors !!!I didnt expect to bring her home, But someone knew better than I . when I went to pick up my op girl, I took my old Girl Bella for her final journey .As I said before in my first post , An awful dessision to make ,but somehow I just knew it was the right one & the final way to show just how much I loved her . Thankyou all for sharing your sad storys ,heartfelt condolences to all & courage abounding those that still have to find Courage .

Only yesterday I gave my best friendof 16years (Foundation bitch), the best gift I could !!after 16 years of companionship ,faithfullness & joy ,I personally felt it was time for her to sleep in peace ,they cannot tell us verbally, of thier desire ,but I feel very strongly, only u as the owner ,know when the time has come . The hardest part for me was finding the courage to let her go with dignity . It tore me apart, but I felt I owed her that . also looking back on the past few days /weeks I realised one cannot consider ones own feelings & I feel we all owe it to or beloved pets to selflessly ,(putting aside yr saddness & loss) let them go <they never really leave us ,& will be carried in your heart & memories forever . regardless of thier age . A very hard dessision to make & it sure takes courage ,but imo, we owe them peace . Someone once said to me "better a day to soon ,Than a day to late .

my bitch who delivered by c section 2 weeks ago, is on a hunger strike also ,I found pretending im eating the slop lol, helps also serving @ room temp & add ing a little vegimite to hot water & serving on food ,Also u could try making her an egg flip with puppy formular . good luck .

Why? Always been led to believe it helps with contractions ??/correct me if i am ill informed

I use calcium tablets 1 after the first pup arrives then 1 an hr till whelp completed

break the sack as soon as pup is out ,let mum do cord ,but if slow ,take over & rip it ,pushing blood towards baby. Also have warm towels to wrap bub in & rub vigerously till first breath is taken ,continue stimulating ,if all else fails mouth to nose & dip yr finger in brandy & rub around babies mouth ,ensure baby is kept warm while otheres r delivered

I tried the leerburg formula but found my baby didnt/couldnt digest it, as soon as i swtched to Woomaroo the weight piled on...where are you cockerlover, what a bout a foster? Hi ,I dont often ask ??? here but i am @ a loss atm My bitch delivered a single puppy (born by c section ) last friday ,At first she rejected bubs but has accepted her now ,despite me having to hold her down to feed . puppy has NO IDEAR how to feed ,but can with my assistance now latch on, but need to be supported to feed. mumma has milk$ but because only one weak sucker I suspect bubby is not getting much ,I am supp(bottol ) feeding 4 hrly & can get her to drink 12mls each feed .she weighs 110z now ,birth wieght was 10oz (280grms) Sleep deprivived & hoping for some good advise .thanking you in anticipation .
