  1. It helps to have a goofy smile when you are a big black dog
  2. What about what the DOGS use it for of their own free will? We have two crates set up in the lounge room a 42" and 46" and the dogs use it for * barley during games of chasey, the dog with the toy goes in there for a rest and the others respect that space * as a bone safe, many a time I have found bones buried in the blankets for later on * a place to eat their treats in peace, when you set bones out of the fridge/treats out of the cupboard they all instantly rush to a crate, great for when it is pouring rain and they cannot go outside to have a bone * as a cave when they wish time out or to shelter from a noisy storm We the humans use them to * separate Dee and Zephyr when Dee is in season, with cable ties on Zephyr's crate as he escapes and is able to break Dee out * confine dogs when any of them need to recover from an injury * act as a safe sleeping place for visiting dogs * provide a secure chill out place for when at conformation shows, obedience trials, pet expos etc So many uses.

  5. OMG Willow that is awful and truly tragic. Thank you all for your replies. I guess I am lucky that I walk predominantly in low traffic, low population areas. This is when I use the extenda lead. I use a 1.2m leather lead for crowded situations like markets, when in suburbia and for obedience training. I like the extenda lead as it will retract when there is slack in the line. This is a lot easier to cope with than trying to gather up a long line or tracking lead, especially in a hurry.
  6. Same here. I just wouldnt trust a dog on one. May I ask why specifically you both don't like extenda leads? Would you have the same opinion if it was a long or tracking lead that the dog was walked on?
  7. May I ask what people think of the option of having your dogs on extenda leads as a solution for people who want their dogs to be able to roam while on their walk? I have a DA dog as a result of three attacks in six months, when she was seven months old. We deliberately avoid the areas where I know dogs roam from their properties. I also have a dog who loves everybody and everything, to the point of squeaking in anticipation of a greeting. To allow them the ability to sniff the area while walking, I walk them separately on an extenda lead (yep double the exercise for me). This means that should I see trouble approaching in the form of an other dog, whether on or off lead, I have the ability to get them close to me and under strict control. That way they remain safe and the other dogs/owners remain safe, and everybody can have an enjoyable walk.

  13. Oh Huski after such promising news. I hope Daisy continues to heal and that you are an active team again very soon.
  14. Zephyr spent today at the pet expo exchanging lollies from Tank's backpack for pats, leaning on people to keep them patting and scratching him, and tarting up to several girls of different breeds Matthew with Tank and Zeph He had an absolutely fantastic time and loved all the attention. It was a very long day but well worth the effort for the positive PR.

  18. The dogs playing with their major Christmas presents Zeph is not too bright as he thinks that the toy magically fills up again but is clever enough to copy Baylee, Dee is too clever for her own good and rather dextress with her feet and Baylee is an impatient bulldozer who just up ends the puzzle to find the treats And the two young ones playing with their minor presents - a new pool and orbee ball (sorry I cannot work out how to rotate it)
