  1. Food is often the major factor ,chopping it wont do anything except make the beard sit like a dummy brush & take years to regrow back, every inch of that beard is the age of the dog & desn't grow like the leg hair. Diet & cleaniness plays a big part
  2. You shouldn't have to ask for starters. Forms can vary from hand written to typed but should still be on official paperwork Misuse of copies can happen & yes it does happen but shouldn't be a reason for you at the very least not to be shown them or given copies . We do give copies after all its part of that puppies record & goes in the puppy folder The simple reality is most of these dogs are listed on websites or other places with there health status so its no real secret .
  3. A wolfie will never fit on the cat walk any way ,i wouldn't dream of even trying & yes as others have said the tyre jump & tunnel aren't designed for many large breeds . I love Wolfies & showed them in the ring for a friend for many years & they are very laid back, slow paced ,soft & very gentle .I find there sensitivity (typical of sighthounds)to be more extremem than most & get very disheartened quicker . They are quite simply a gentle giant
  4. I would say agility with a wolfhound will be a hard task . Depends what you want to live with one is lazy as one is way more active
  5. If your getting an older dog chances are it will already be spayed especially a bitch . If getting a bitch & planning to keep her entire your current male may decide that isn't fun for him even though he is spayed . We are breeders but i can't stand girls in season so we have a small number of entire bitches & once retired they are spayed asap . We have had 2 pyo s picked up very early as we pay attention which is a must with entire animals Girls in season are either something you are happy to deal with or not ,you can certainly spay when more mature in a larger breed
  6. Hopefully not to many will be affected by the fires & the road closures tonight,a number of dog folk are up that way & been evacuated or can't get in or can't get out. A few dog people went bush walking last night to get home & another was allowed back in around 11 am .
  7. To be honest i would worry less about socializing & playing & worry more about care.
  8. I don't care if there not always cheerful,i have stewarded in the past & anyone who does that job deserves a medal due to rude exhibitors, people that aren't ready, don't listen, walk off ,never answer there calls & many that blame the stewards for all sorts of evils After all it is the exhibitors job to be ready but a steward who is in charge is a wonderful tool especially as many do the job on there own & as a volunteer
  9. Never ever used one for spaying ,only had one for eye suregery & that was a requirement that we also agreed with. We have a vet clinic here that insists on them as part of there care package .The funny part is you can go to the shop down the raod & buy one for half the price & the actual correct size. A good vet who does a good job rarely requires a bucket, yes some dogs can be a one of a kind . The dogs hate them ,the wrong size makes drinking hard . You can buy dog neck braces which stops there heck from turning & still allows drinking & laying comfy
  10. First thought would be spondolosis (sp)
  11. I agree you always get something said that acknowledges you have won/placed or something . The steward is the person in charge of the charts As for ribbons we have a bucket here ,most clubs rarely hand them out like they use to as they cost to much & if people really want them they will ask plus when going back in the ring you end up with ribbons & no where to put them or in pockets that are being used for other things
  12. We have swapped some dogs to Earthborn Coastal catch & it has worked wonders . We didn't have issues as such but we prefer feeding a fish based food & after others brands keep changing there make up we swapped to this & its great & the dogs love it
  13. Most of these photos are very average ,the Irish looks awful in its photo compared to what it does in the ring . These aren't true to stacked photos & many look like there slipping on the flooring
  14. im on sunday the 24 ,specialties the following weekend & the hopefully back on Monday with either a breed win in our camp or one of the puppies .
  15. Most good wire crates come with a puppy adapter to adjust the size
  16. Does this person work night shift or do they not here there dogs bark if the others can't sleep?? Poms themselves are very vocal & i can imagine why they have complained there yappy bark does your head in after awhile. Not sure about a citronella collar on such small dogs . Given she doesn't want them inside i would leave it to her she needs to be prepared to compromise too but chances are these dogs aren't toilet trained . You can tell her the obvious inside, more attention/mental games. I would stress she is very lucky the neighbours have approached her first off & not gone to the council but she needs to do the hard work & seek help or change some living options before they do head to the council
  17. The reason why we never take deposits . How old is this person ??
  18. We brought the Mini stamps just ashame they couldn't have used a dog that had correct ears
