Being a bUllie doesn't mean its any more stubborn than another puppy that hasn't a clue. Holding the lead behind you pup often ends up a big game .They want to see it,it gets a reaction out of you & the pup gets in trouble & then the lead is an enemy All our pups little & future 40 kg are allowed to carry the lead if they wish at first ,the lead is always in front of them loss. All is visual . My show dogs are shown on chocker style leads as are many dogs at shows so as far as the OMG chuck it out you will ruin the dog i don't agree BUT bad training & no fun will ruin it whether it be choker, flat collar or anything else. The Bullie folk here use the rope slip leads which are thick I use food & toys to train & all is a game

Allergies, Allergies,allergies
Dogsfevr replied to the cat lady's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
You need to treat the affected feet ,you can use tinea cream or cheap white vinegar, malaseb or anything that you use on the ears,Its frustrating that vets don't check this & treat aswell The issue will go back & forth & then they lick there feet & it goes to there mouth /face . -

It makes me laugh if a client takes a dog to vet due to clipper rash from a groomer they jump up n down saying there careless. When the vet nurses go clipper crazy with a #40/50 blade & cause a serious issue it has to be done. There is no excuse for clipping those areas with surgical blades. Our dog had surgery & was shaved with a #40 & about 50% of his body& the clipper rash was so severe that when he had the runs whilst still in there care he burnt his scrotum & anus area & not once did they put anything on it. He suffered more due to the insane clipping than he did from the surgery & given clipper rash can often turn into bad hot spots it isn't something they should be so trivial over After a month of intense treatment & special care he started to heel but the suffering was not something i would wish on anyone

Food is often the major factor ,chopping it wont do anything except make the beard sit like a dummy brush & take years to regrow back, every inch of that beard is the age of the dog & desn't grow like the leg hair. Diet & cleaniness plays a big part

Do I Need A Copy Of Both The Parents' Health Check?
Dogsfevr replied to merikuri's topic in General Dog Discussion
You shouldn't have to ask for starters. Forms can vary from hand written to typed but should still be on official paperwork Misuse of copies can happen & yes it does happen but shouldn't be a reason for you at the very least not to be shown them or given copies . We do give copies after all its part of that puppies record & goes in the puppy folder The simple reality is most of these dogs are listed on websites or other places with there health status so its no real secret . -
A wolfie will never fit on the cat walk any way ,i wouldn't dream of even trying & yes as others have said the tyre jump & tunnel aren't designed for many large breeds . I love Wolfies & showed them in the ring for a friend for many years & they are very laid back, slow paced ,soft & very gentle .I find there sensitivity (typical of sighthounds)to be more extremem than most & get very disheartened quicker . They are quite simply a gentle giant
