  1. Around the $1000 mark & the dog will have to clear customs at the other end so after a few hrs yes you will see it unless the rules have changed . You will still have the expense of the export procedures(vet checks etc etc)
  2. Well it seems without knowing both sides of the story ( i say sometimes because there can be two sides ) it seems she was involved & is fully aware of her part of deal
  3. I think you need to sit in the middle & look at both sides. Your are disappointed BUT also understand her fears which lets be honest breeders have refused to not return the bitches & maybe they have read horror stories & maybe for them that comment about do they really want the bitch has hit home . There are stories on DOL about breeders terms so it doesn't take much for a person to suddenly fear the worse What would we do Firstly we would contact them explaining that wont be happening that it is there dog & that the contract signed both both parties explains that We would try in a very compassionate manner to ease there mind & see what happens . If that doesn't seem to work then you need to decide what you want . Do you want the bitch to be spayed . Do you want her back Do you want to simply meet the contract terms . What else did your contract state Ie If the bitch didn't meet your expectations & you decided not to have a litter what was written in the contract then about payment ?? What age did you say the litter would happen ?? The people i now who do this sort of breeders terms the people pay for the pup & its listed in the contract the approx age for the litter & once all is done they get a refund back .
  4. What are you wanting to register him on?? If its with the council then just list Shar Pei unless you have some weird rule that proof must be supplied
  5. There was according to post from the Lab people 170 bitches
  6. Agood vet is one that works regulary . We won't use any clinic that has a high turn around of vets . We pick a clinic where the vet prefer is always available unless on holidays etc etc. WE don't use Applecross like we use to,to many staff changes but they offer services that we need so we do keep our foot in that door but use one of Applecross past vets at his own clinic
  7. With food also remember that means treats like Schmacko,s & the likes. Do he have bad ears. What are you washing him in now. Did he itch from the day you brought him home . Regards to licking is it his feet & if so are they sore looking?? Or does he just lick his front legs for example which if nervous could be a soothing tool for him. So many what ifs but even if you go to the vet making a diary of his diet & the likes can be very helpful
  8. We board lots of FIFO dogs & have friends who own dogs with other arrangements that are FIFO workers & they are some of the best dog owners around . We board & groom dogs owned by people who would tick the traditional owners box & they are some of the worst owners around , A good owners is one that does all for there dog no matter what there lifestyle maybe so no i wouldn't judge a FIFO worker solely on there job
  9. There was a rescue group here that still exist but not sure of there policies anymore that wouldn't work with any breed club because they would profit from the dog . They would prefer these dogs to sit for months on end in there shelter & that requires money spent on them than work with a breed club that could easily rehome to people experienced with the breed . This same group also refuses more homes than not for stupid reasons If you don't earn enough,if you work to many hrs Yep how bloody stupid is that We have sold puppies to people refused by this org who are the most wonderful owners. I visit a person with my dogs who was also refused & works from home because heaven forbid the Kelpie x they would be interested in would spend many hours outside with them with the horses. I fondly remember one breed a Italian Spinone that was spayed living for many years in this place all because they wouldn't work with the breeder east who was happy to pay for the dog to be flown home & homed at that stage with someone who already had the breed Here it does seem pure breed snobbery does work & some groups go on this elitist band wagon that they are the be all & end all & forget about the actual dog in need & that if everyone worked together the dog benefits the most which is the most important factor
  10. Perth has 3 ET trials looking at the calendar what a pain
  11. Don't push it , Your pup needs patience ,pushing them to like something will have the opposite effect .There is no rush for your pup to be best friends with any dog BUT it is crucial that your pup meets other dogs even if that just means watching for awhile from a distance . You also need to consider your body language & reaction . Just take him for walks with daughters dog but no play or offleash no interaction.Just walk together & that is it off you go Your daughters dog also needs to learn not every dog means play & some pups are very in your face & over the top , At present its seems the match isn't working but with a time, confidence building & maturity & not rushing things all should be fine. I imagine you have had pup for maybe 2 weeks & the other pup is an established pro
  12. without reading the rules i would imagine it is for dogs that hold a QC in field/retrieving(qualifying card)
  13. The Vic one we print out & place in all our puppy folders
  14. plus the other factor, you either have a good coat or a crap coat no matter what you do Diet first & foremost & how often there maintained . Over conditioning & oiling can do exactly what you are experiencing now. I prefer maintenance programmes than over oiling/conditioning & changing the routine when the season changes are happening or when appropriate . The more crap you put in coats the less it will grow as well. But the breed does make the difference in what one uses & then it comes down to your dog as to what works best ,no product is the best its just a case of what works best on your dog
