How Would A Cavalier And German Shepherd Go Together?
Dogsfevr replied to Sunnyflower's topic in General Dog Discussion
Here is a soft placid GSD that by one poster is a reject. A true GSD is adaptable to all situations . My GSD was an entire male, used at stud, show breed from pure german lines A GSD is all about ownership . My boy had never meet these dogs but all our big dogs are taught manners & IF THE OWNERS are prepared for reality, prepared to have the house set up for the puppy stages & totally committed it will work but all factors must be consdiered I will also attach a photo of our other big dogs/small dog combos -
Why Are Some Pups Sold Without Papers Altogether

yes you will get 6 points each time you win the breed & more points if other chessies turn up

What is the main reason for a third dog?? If the 2 dogs get on like a house on fire what are your expectations of adding a third ?? Bostons & Frenchies can be very spunky dogs so you truly need to match the pup to what you already have & to be honest unless your very dog savvy having 3 entire males may be a disaster. You you have to understand is your pack gets on great now a 3 males can alter that & an entire male can suddenly become things you dont expect. If desexing isnt going to be an option then you need to pick wisely to make sure things dont go pear shaped

Why Are Some Pups Sold Without Papers Altogether
Dogsfevr replied to GardenofEden's topic in General Dog Discussion
WA still doesnt have to sell with papers but all pups must be registered . QLD they are suppose to go with papers so they reality is your breeder hasnt followed the COE there bound by. When you say health testing did you get a copy of those papers & how do you now they match the pup you have ?? -
I would sooner post that at his age than a bad stacked shot.It shows his athletic side which is important in the breed
-
People always remember bad photo's & with a minority breed bad photo's stand out big time. I too wouldnt use it because whilst its a nice candid photo, it isnt a great photo to encourage people to go WOW. Young dogs we generally do head shots only unless its a nice stacked photo or there hunting birds nothing that can be pre judged

Yep so agree with this

never heard of them ,make sure you do your homework about breeders

The shows this weekend are in Geraldton. Bichons arent shown in big numbers here. The next best show to see Bichons would be either the 29 or 30 may
-
For Bichon breeders or people to talk with i would suggest Rick & Katherine Berwick Dupanche Bichons. They attend most shows if not judging. They are one of the handful of breede/exhibitors of this breed

Please Help. My Daughter Is Terrified Of Our Dog.
Dogsfevr replied to boxerfamily's topic in General Dog Discussion
See i will disagree, i believe the situation with having 3 boys is very important & i dont see how hanging on to the pup for 5/6/7/8 months & then rehoming would be fair when they are getting more attached. It wont be fair on either side BUT the dog is the most important aspect at the moment & it is a pup that also needs stability. If you do rehome i agree dont lie.contact your breeder who should be able to help. There will be no easy answer but remember your daughter is 10 & in your own words always been scared all her life she this is a problem well established & will take time to deal with . I feel for you we see people in our business scared of dogs, people who will only own small dogs or big dogs, cant cope around certain colours & the list goes on. No easy option but in your heart im sure you now which will best suit Goodluck -

I would like to know the rules on this actually. Isn't there something in the code of ethics that says all puppies from registered breeders must be registered and buyers supplied with a copy of the pedigree. I recall reading something similar although that might be an exaggeration of a rule. Or is that a rule in another state? Yes it is covered in the COE & we dont have to hand out the papers at all,all pups must be limited registered or main & the owners must be made fully aware before the sale what the deal is with the papers. A member shall provide to all recipients of dogs sold or otherwise disposed of by that member, written details of: 2.23.1 The breed characteristics; 2.23.2 Vaccination record and / or requirements; 2.23.3 Responsible dog ownership information; and 2.23.4 All documentation required by the member's Member Body, including a written receipt clearly stating whether the dog was sold with or without a Certificate of Registration (Main or Limited) and any other conditions. For the purposes of this Code "with or without papers" shall mean the Certificate of Registration. 04/08

Please Help. My Daughter Is Terrified Of Our Dog.
Dogsfevr replied to boxerfamily's topic in General Dog Discussion
How did she react around the breeders adult dogs?? We get the occasional parents out with similar issues but i will be honest & say we wouldnt sell to them until they seeked help before the dog came home ,some brought elsewhere that didnt always end well & others returned to us when the child had received help, unfortunately getting a dog without help to the problem doesnt work. I guess the main thing you need to ask yourself is it affecting the pup or the future living arrangements this dog has?? If in 6 months time she is still terrified will you still have the dog or would you consider rehoming?? I only ask this because in all honesty if you feel the situation wont be sorted soon you need to consider the dog just as much & not play a waiting game with it . The dog can also start to build a fear of your child reactions & either play up more or fear her . I think its time to have a serious talk about whether this is the right time to have dog at home & consider the pros & cons I will add at the show on the weekend a parent brought there young daughter down to the show to see the dogs & it was very obvious to all she was totally terrified of the dogs to the point of looking like having a panic attack. Unfortunately some of the dogs body language & reaction to her fear wouldnt have helped her because she scared the dogs others thought it was a game & tried to leap & jump. I guess in the end you now your daughter best & the dog & your household & can determine what the next 14 years may be like keeping in mind your pup will grow quickly & become more powerful & in your face which Boxers are, very touchy/feely & people dogs -

We held onto the papers of our limit registered pup... the dog was to be sterilised before it would have been ready to compete in dog sports (not that they wanted to compete anyway). By holding onto the papers they couldn't "accidently" breed with the dog and show a copy of his paperwork to say the parents were registered. They got the papers and a $300 refund once they sent the sterilisation certificate And they certainly didn't have any problems with it as unless you want to breed or are ready to compete the papers don't mean anything anyway. If the dog is show quality and you may want to try showing ask the breeder if you can transfer her to the Neuter register as well. Not many Clubs run neuter events but they are bringing in a neuter championship title We do the same as do many breeders Physically having the papers in their hands or not aside, does this mean the dog is still in the breeders name, too? yes until the dog is spayed per the contract ,then the paperwork is signed & then its a case of whether the people join the canine or not of which most never do. Remember if people dont join the canine the dog will always remain in the breeders name on the papers because the greater majority never transfer them over All the details are clearly outlined & in a written contract that both parties sign. Never had an issue in 25 plus years & originally our pets where never registered until the new rule came in like many breeders in this state. Even now in WA we dont have to sell with papers but every pup must be registered

Do You Allow A Puppy Person To Pick Their Pup?
Dogsfevr replied to Stolzseinrotts's topic in Breeders Community
I would presume any ethical breeder would follow this rule no matter what the breed. Matching the right pup to the right family is very important & all our buyers are told this -
All ours go on limited to & thats only because in WA we now have to register every pup. In my experience & with the people we deal with daily i believe those who have a limited pup are very well aware of the restrictions & the only ones i now of who have complained suddenly want to breed certainly not show. generally those who say they werent informed where & had no intentions of showing when originally purchasing . We are very upfront with our puppy enquirers & i think we only had 1 who came back whinging the problem was before the paid for the pup they signed the contract outling they understood what limited register was & had been clearly discussed. I am not a believer of selling all pups on main . With the handful we have sold as show dogs our arrangement has been they show in our name for the first 6 months at which time they must commit to the intense grooming required,if after that 6 months they wish to continue & it is show quality the dog is tranferred over in to joint names.if they arent committed its down graded & must be spayed as all our pets must be spayed. It has worked very well for us as we havea breed highly sort after for exporting.BYB & DD breeders

We painted our roof but i cant say i noticed any difference except make the roof a pain to clean. Our float has more insulation in it than most so hard to compare what the difference is

Never groom on your lap. You need to find a raised area(washing machine.bench ) & place a non slip mat & brush dog only standing up.Start now teaching the word stand /stay Dont go over board in talking & treating you dont need to bribe for grooming but its your body langugae that makes or breaks it. Place pup on table first off ,say stand ,run your hands over pup or quick run over with the brush ,place on the ground & good dog. Never place pup on the floor whilst having a tainty ,if pup plays up just hold safely & wait till dummy spit is finished & then place on the floor. laps are for cuddles not grooming ,pup needs a "grooming" place where you cheack for knots, burs & brushing especially when older & in a full coat.

Ch Fermanagh Orange Blossom "Blossom" is a yellow Labrador Retriever bitch. She and her owner are staying at the Avina Van Village and are in Sydney for the Lab National. Blossom snapped her lead and broke out of her crate last night (Sat 8/5) when some kids across the road let off a whole heap of firecrackers. Blossom is microchipped and may still have her soft collar on, Sammy Caldwell is her owner and is desperate to find her, she can be contacted on 0407364991. Please keep an eye out if you are in the area and phone Sammy if you see any stray yellow labrador retrievers. Crosspost from show forum & please share with anyone
