having placed ads in the paper i can safely say the people at the other end make major spelling issues despite it being spelt out. The ad is wrong but the spelling mistakes are more the papers fault

Yep spent nearly $8000 for a dog that is now in a pet home ,spayed. All health tests done but a total lemon.

Gooey Eyes In My Lagotto Pup!
Dogsfevr replied to mygirlruby's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
have you asked the breeder?? Did you go back to the vet when the product didnt seem to work well?? Did the pup have issues when you picked it up?/ We have seen dogs with gooey eyes who play in mulch -
I agree new . If the breed has such few breeders as you say then you have to start somewhere. When you on a list for 7 years with no successful matings are you saying not one bitch has fallen pregnant? As you would be fully aware there is no guarantee even if you import for a healthy pup so you would have to seriously weigh up the expense & risk there alone. The pups breed here would have to have serious issue before i headed done that path & just brought from overseas & one is presuming these breeders stock have come from overseas if the breed is relatively new ??

Kibble In Morning With Raw At Night, This O.k?
Dogsfevr replied to meluchja's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Generally one would follow the diet sheet given by the breeder. Did your breeder give you one & what did they suggest?? Minis need a diet high in essential fatty acids for the skin/coat -
I gather this person doesnt show ,it sounds like it was just a litter to have. veteran or not we choose to mate our bitches,we then have to make arrangements to be there when the time comes or provide an alternative that is suitable. 4 live pups where born so no i wouldnt offer a refund/re service & certainly not with the situation that supposedly happen. As a stud dog owner i too have ethics as to what i deem suitable

If you enteryou generally get two passes can work out cheaper ?? So I should enter a dog, then scratch them, just to get a cheaper entry ticket? That's a good way If the pass system is the same as last year the passes can only be used for the day your have entered,so if you do scratch you could only attend that day irrespective

My Maltese Is Getting De-sexed Tomorrow :(
Dogsfevr replied to Sasha (Alexander)'s topic in General Dog Discussion
That is your personal feelings . I am a female & have no urge to be a mother. We have had bitches here who would have killed there pups given a chance & one did & others who are obsessive & those who are great. Female doesnt equate to wanting babies & i can guarantee of the many bitches we have owned many would never have been good mothers nor those who havent had litters damaged by being spayed. People need to seperate there own emotions to what is reality. -
If the flight has also been planned with a stop over that can help. Our guys from Belgium did a stop over at one of the Pet centres to get out & about before continuing on

Maybe a body could not be brought back but an alive dog can. this also applies if you are flying domestically as well, you cant bring a deceased dog back unless cremated

does he have bad tonsils??

From a showdog perspective, i have loaned my dogs to handlers who had no clue how to get them to work, these are well trained dogs that any dummy should be able to deal with BUT some people dont have good handling skills no matter how well trained the dog is. What people need to understand is a dog with the right trainer/handler can be easily trained due to a simple mutual respect for each other ,it can then go back to the other party & be a big fail as the dog is smart enough to outsmart there owners. Good in theory & yes if the right trainer is there & above all the owners are fully aware that a trained dog doent mean it will still work for them ,often people reach this point because they either haven't done any work or they wont accept there handling skills have a big part to play in the dogs lack of manners or behaviour . A dog in the end is only as good as it handler & that may mean still dealing with a difficult dog but knowing how to read the signs & working with it

I show big dogs & do alot of running. My current pair of show shoes are homey peds, I also have flat feet so quality for me is a must & these make all that show day standing/running a pleasure. I prefer no laces/velcro (the velcro dont fit my feet so i end up with stacks of left over stuff flapping about, yes you could get it shortened but would prefer to just get shoes that fit well first go) Many do wear the Sketchers but they dont fit my skinny feet well

I would be trying Bowen therapy. I have a dog with bad arthritis & another issue & There are days he can hardly walk , we do monthly bowen which is a godsend for all his other muscles. Sore muscles are just as painful & he would be using his over time. We are luckythe cartrophen weekly work & he is on Rosehip tablets but i find in his case the Bowen is the main factor in keeping hi healthy & active

I Am So Angry, But What Can I Do Without Alienating My Daughter?
Dogsfevr replied to mantis's topic in General Dog Discussion
Its your daughters battle ,she obviously accepts she is with a control freak & i gather picking the type of dogs isnt the only thing she doesnt get her way or her wants respected . -
How many australian judges do the same ?? I can certainly list plenty ,it isnt an overseas special thing

My guys dont eat beds so i have one of the $180 clark rubber mattress that we have covered & works a treat. I did say if i had to buy a bed for my big guys i would buy a toddlers bed

Starting Out- Probably Really Silly Questions!
Dogsfevr replied to Emma92's topic in General Dog Discussion
I suggest as you live in Melbourne going to watch the Am Staff champ this weekend or the terrier club show where a good number of Am Staffs will be in attendance & you can see the show side aspect as well -
If this was the case i could report the greater majority of our clients ,this is a daily occurrence for me & many are spoilt house dogs. So i gather the info is 3 rd hand form someone else?? So how do you now they treat themselves & never go to a vet??

Should I Get A Second Opinion?
Dogsfevr replied to RallyValley's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
A barium meal would have shown a blockage or not but you must add a certain bran for it to work successfully & show a bloackage, many vets dont add the special ingredient & it passes straight through. One of our old vets did this method & it saved one of our old girls from surgery & she could be monitored. Obviously if it hadnt past she would have needed surgery but we preferred the less invasive option first -
The Canadian isnt coming ,the replacement judge hasnt been advised yet
