  1. Just wondering if you have your indoor lights set to come on with timers and if it makes a difference?
  2. ). [I wouldnt use the clip ons for those areas & certainly not the ears. I would just buy a blade ie #4 or #5 or even a #7.Much easier Thanks, I'll look go and look at a blade instead.
  3. So would the #10 leave the hair longer or shorter than expected?
  4. Thanks for the replies. I will use them to clip my Lakeland's bottom, tummy and ears and would feel a bit safer using the combs (although I have used the clippers without them). I will use them withe #10 blade and see how I get on. My clippers didn't come with any combs but I did get a great grooming bag and apron with them - the bag is huge!
  5. That's interesting, this ad states 'DO NOT USE ON #40 BLADESET OF ANY BRAND' The Barf Shop
  6. I have a Wahl KM-2 clipper which was supplied with a #10 blade. I am looking at buying a set of stainless steel attachment guide combs and the ad states they work best with a Competition #30 blade. I only use the clipper for pet grooming so I am wondering if I can use the combs with a #10 blade or if I definitely need the #30?
  7. Oh much too cheap, I'd expect to pay well over double that - especially when it's only 6 monthly rather than 3 monthly.
  8. Gosh Missymoo, I wish you lived near me if you're prepared to handstrip a Lakeland. I've been learning to handstrip our 1 year old and it takes me hours If I was paying someone to do it I would expect to be charged accordingly and I would still be grooming at home in between. I find the legs, tummy and beard in particular get tangled very easily and need regular attention. You're obviously not charging them enough!!
  9. Hopefully for the dogs sake this is a windup
  10. The simple answer is no, there is no natural alternative to insulin.
  11. So sorry to hear of your loss. RIP Rex
  12. You could try contacting the secretary: PERTH TRAINING & OBEDIENCE DOG CLUB (INC) Club Type: Obedience & Agility Training Mrs D Mousley, 10 Haven Place, THORNLIE Phone: 9459 2818
  13. Here is the link to the agility page of their website: http://www.perthtraining.com/Agility%20Page.htm
  14. Do you think you're expecting too much of a 12 week old pup? My understanding was they aren't able to control their bladder until 16 weeks of age.
  15. Hi, If he's previously been clipped then it might be easier to continue with the clipped coat rather than stripping. Does his coat feel soft and curly or harsh and wavy?

    Just A Vent

But it's OK to rub their nose in pee and poo - yeah right
  17. Our elderly Lakeland was on Metacam for about 10 months before he passed away. I was a bit concerned about gastric irritation as he had always seemed to have a sensitive stomach (I'm a nurse so always cautious about the side effects of these meds). He was so much more comfortable on the Metacam and actually had less stomach problems when taking it! He was able to enjoy life right up until the end and that was very important to us.
  18. OK, I have to ask - why are they called Satin Balls!!!
  19. Well now you've all got me paranoid. I do pluck my Lakeland's ears when there's hair there, should I be using an ear cleaning solution regularly? No.Ear solution doesnt need to be used just because. If your dogs ears are well maintained & you are checking regulary then best not to interfer. If you see any sign of "stuff: then we will flush & wash. The main key is paying attention Thanks for that, I meant to ask her breeder when I saw her at the Western Classic but we were chatting about other things and I forgot!

  21. If you email at Judith at [email protected] she will send you a sample pack and give you a quote for freight - she is extremely helpful
  22. I bought a K9 Cruiser bowl for inside as I was getting fed upwith the puddles on the floor, she has an ordinary one outside which she occasionally dunks her whole face in. She still sometimes snorkels if I'm filling a bucket of water - at least it keeps her beard clean! I haven't managed to find a flyball or earthdog club in WA unless anyone knows different??
  23. Rosie FT - it's a pity we live on opposite sides of the river as your Foxie would be a perfect playmate for my Lakeland She also loves to chase the hose (as did our dear departed Drum even at age 14) and as my OH thinks it's a great game I guess she'll keep on doing it! The broom and duster are also things to be chased although we are improving with the vacuum cleaner - it's a good excuse for not being a 'perfect housewife' don't you think Terriers may be frustrating at times but they can always make you laugh!
  24. Sending you hugs and best wishes at this difficult time
