Pet Plan here. Have made over $2000 in claims and we never have any problems. They are a little slow at reimbursing though (about a month). They are one of the few that will continue to insure for chronic illnesses - thank goodness!

Love the muddy puppies!

Training A Dog To "ask" To Go To The Toilet
TerraNik replied to dee lee's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I love the ringing bell idea ... was thinking of getting a battery powered door chime from my pup as they have a wider base for the paw to hit on than the "counter bells" that I can find, and hanging a string of bells on my door isnt practical for my joint. I hang a cow bell at the door. If you wanted to try the bell ringing idea, it's really a no brainer. All you need to do is every time you take her out, ring the bell yourself before you open the door. They make the connection very quickly and start ringing it themselves. -
Thanks Ness, Riv and Ruby

Ready To Welcome A Puppy Into The Home Too!
TerraNik replied to Lynlovesdogs's topic in General Dog Discussion
Lappies generally love everyone. Keeshonds tend to bond to a single person or family. I wouldn't say Hazel was stranger unfriendly - she warmed up to people after a little while! Nothing wrong with that! -

Personally, although I love Lappies... There is nothing cuter than a Keeshond puppy. But - rather than deciding based on which breed is the cutest as a pup - decide which adult you would prefer. They're going to be an adult for much longer than they will be a puppy. -
That would sum up my two as well!!!!!

I haven't noticed any difference... But I am hanging out for more to be offered!

I do a few left about turns and each position, just to make sure he's not being a doofus! This is usually when the dog before us has gone in. Then I put him back in his crate until they are doing their last exercise and then he gets revved up with food and we go in. I HATE waiting around out in front of the ring before we go in... So I try and avoid it if I can.

Yay for the both of you for making your debuts!!

Okay, so we didn't pass our trial today (apparently 4 minutes of stays is too long to wait for your remote reward!!!!!! )... BUT - I am reaaaaaaaally pleased with the work Jedi gave me up to that point (well, except when I stepped on him during the figure 8! Oops!). It's the best he's given me in a trial to date and we were sitting on 2nd with a 192. Oh well!

Beautiful!! Always love your shots!

Thanks, Helen. His name is Flynn. Not sure of his show name - Poocow would be able to tell you.

Come to our club!!!!!!!!! I agree with the others - if you're not comfortable with the trainer, go somewhere else. What a crap generalisation to make! And what a way to treat someone who you're supposed to be helping! Unbelievable. Guess I should just give up on trialling Jedi - what was I thinking?!

You might get to see a more sedate Soaks, Lyn! She is injured at the moment (pad injury) but hopefully I'll be able to bring her out by Saturday. Otherwise I'm sure we can work out a little play-date with Hazel once she's all better. Though, I have another lappie here that I'm fostering - I will definitely bring her along. She's a big sook! You'll love her! -
Thanks!

Training A Dog To "ask" To Go To The Toilet
TerraNik replied to dee lee's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
My dogs ring a bell when they want to go out. Doesn't take long for them to learn. I have a foster dog and a friend's dog here and they were both ringing the bell the same day they arrived. -
I gots a broken Soakie (she's on crate rest for at least a week - sliced open her pad)... So Jed is gonna get all the attention for training... Maybe I should try scent discrim with him again... I started UD box work with him. He LOVES it!
