  1. I have one dog park that I go to with my two as it is usually always the same dogs there so I feel pretty safe taking them there. Like you I always have treats on me but I am fairly surrupticious about using them for that reason. There are two beagles who frequent our park who always sniff out my treats quick smart and will occasionally jump up and harrass me for one, but their owner is very good and calls them off immediately. Tbh it doesn't bother me, I just respond the way I would if they were my own dogs jumping up and harassing me for a treat - turn around and ignore - they soon give up. I don't try to do any obedience at the dog park apart from recalls - and for recalls I make a point of going away from the pack and calling my dogs, so generally they come over and get the treat away from the other dogs. I haven't had too much of a problem. But if other dogs did come running over I wouldn't really expect their owners to be able to recall them away from roast chicken, for example. Sure in an ideal world they would be able to, but I certainly don't go there thinking that will happen. That's just how dog parks are.
  2. Maybe suggest to her that a more effective way of getting him to come back would be to have some treats on-hand for that specific purpose?
  3. I went to Kmart and bought a few very large plastic containers.
  4. My Leia does this... drives me nuts! I have been taking her over to the spots where she usually barks at night during the day time and giving her treats for sitting there quietly. Seems to be helping. I also find that if I take her out on a lead she is much better. But mostly I am too lazy to do that.
  5. This makes me love my leather lounges even more.
  6. Archer runs straight up to me and sits waiting for his pats and adulation. Leia runs away to find something to put in her mouth then wiggles past me several times wiggling her entire body, not just her tail. Both are very cute.
  7. Great photos and your dogs are beautiful. Dunno if you're into editing but the photos could use a touch more contrast if you are...
  8. So many lovely pics in here... here's a couple more from me taken yesterday.
  9. OH YES - B&H in NYC is an experience!!! It is like a jumbo supermarket full of camera and video gear. CAMERA NERD HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is owned and run by Hasidic Jews so I think it is closed Saturdays (?).... Mrs TS if you need any more PS or Lightroom tips feel free to ask. They are must have programs for anyone with a dslr IMO...
  10. If you want to do it in photoshop go to Tools > Photoshop > Image processor, this will open up the image processor window. http://www.photoshopsupport.com/photoshop-...cript-menus.jpg Select the folder where your images are located that you want to resize. Select where you wish to save the resized images. Select save as jpg and quality 7 is usually good for web/email, and resize to fit W ??px by H ??px. if you are saving for web around 700px is good. Then hit run and it will resize all the images in the specified folder.
  11. Macka tell us more about Archer......at this age they are like sponges so keep teaching him things Yep I am trying! He is making little improvements every day... :D I should pull the video camera out more often.
  12. I don't have many videos up yet but this is me. http://www.youtube.com/user/TwoBlackDoggies Loving everyone's videos!
  13. Agree with this. I am guilty of overusing it sometimes but my husband usually pulls me up on it before printing!
  14. My wide angle lens does produce a vignette at 16mm. I also sometimes add a vignette in lightroom if I feel it compliments the image and the processing stlye I have used. Like in this image for example.
  15. There's no rules about image quality here... they just have to be YOUR top 3 pics! (Or 4, or 5 he he he)

    Toys! :)

When you can no longer get enough peanut butter out to cover a slice of bread... the 'empty' peanut butter jar is one of Leia's special treats. Lasts several days!
  18. My thoughts are... if it doesn't hold much sentimental value for you you might as well sell it, no point making yourself feel guilty if that's the way you feel. I have inherited a few things from my grandfather and MIL this year. The things from my grandfather are just things...I don't feel any attachment to them and they don't particularly remind me of him nor would I feel bad to sell them. However the earrings I inherited from my MIL are really special to me and I woudln't want to part with them. There's not really any explanation for why I am attached to some things and not others, I loved them both very much, that's just the way it is. Bear in mind though that cameras are disposable items... 7D may be a good camera now but in a few years time you will want to upgrade... will it upset you to sell it or get rid of it when the time comes, knowing where the money came from? If not then don't worry about it.
  19. There are so many great photos in here, there are too many to comment on!
