  1. Wow that is scary glad you and your family are ok. I have never been in that situation but I have no doubt that my oldest dog would come to my defense If I needed him to and possibly my youngest boy too. Hard to know unless I was actually in the situation??
  2. I have always made a habit of doing different things with mine but I try to even it out between all of them. My OH goes to his Mums every weekend so who ever I don't take to training he takes with him. I take one of the girls each Monday to visit the hospital and the rest stay home. If I am visiting someone and I can take dogs I usual pick the one I take depending on who we visit. I take all of them when we go off lead running at the dog park. I try to keep it on an even keel so they all get the same amount of attention. One thing I never do is leave one at home on thier own. However I do alternate thier inside outside time so occasionally they each spend time alone outside.
  3. Thanks tlc. We got one of Buck and Bart with them on too....they are our sheep! Soooo cute! Theresa post it up, I'd love to see Baaaaaa Sheepies in the xmas spirit!
  4. Great shot GSD's, Vegas does look a bit partial to the antlers, great santas little helper. Where the hell is Tez, come on girl get in here and tell us all the goss!!
  5. I don't have to work till this arvo, I have the late shift! I have only dead headed the roses and cut of a few straggly bits. We did a big prune of our lilly pillys, they were up over the roof of the veranda. Also pulled a heap of ground cover out that was taking over! Our visit to SWHC was without dog this week, (my week off) We just visited Seans mum, hoping she will be out soon.
  6. PC didn't know you had another puppy. how old is he? he looks adorable, Is he an Aussie?
  7. Smoko is a lucky boy to have landed in your care! He looks like a lovely boy, he has a kind face, do you think he is a Koolie? or perhaps ACD although looks a bit fine for ACD maybe a mix? Im sure in time he will embrace your way of life, and know your not going to treat him badly.
  8. Present.... ( but should be asleep, work tomorrow ) Hope your sticking around it's been quiet in here without you! Me and Sean have been busy today trimming our garden, roses hedges etc, it was a great day for it! I took the dogs for a run up at AP, very quiet up there. Also back to swhc to visit Seans mum, so it's been a very busy day here.
  9. I am welcome and my lot are anything but pure! The 52 week photos will probly be posted here I think? What I did last year was had my 52 weeks of Cooper on Flickr and then posted each weeks photo in the thread here too. I think thats what everyone else did as well. I like the idea of one dog photo per week but I don't mind what others do. I wanted to set myself a task of all 4 of mine together once a week, no leads but I'm not sure I would keep up with it.
  10. Ill be sad not to see Lolas puggy face in here every week too, actually all the 52 weeks for 2010 dogs I will miss seeing. Its nice to come in here every week to see the regulars! Heres my final shot for 2010
  11. Thanks for starting the thread Shell, (by the way I love your xmas siggy, so cute!) Here is my link to my set of 52 weeks of Bronson http://www.flickr.com/photos/38795548@N03/...57625686730638/ I choose Bronson this year as he is my biggest challenge and not just photography wise, :p Bronson will be 3 in January so I am hoping to have some fun with pictures of him. Look forward to seeing everyones photos this year, especially puppy pics. When we do week one do we swap it for the pic that is the front page?
  12. Well you have me intrigued! hope eveyone is having a nice break, I have today and tomorow off work which has been great. I worked yesterday and the 5 hours just went so quick as we were really busy, sore legs at the end of the day but I was glad to get home! So what did everyone get for xmas? I got some purfume, a charm for my braclet, money, chocys, money, a fabulous book about glee (one of my favorite presents) a new electronic gadget (for those of you who don't know as well as the crazy dog lady I am also known as the gadget girl. ) So I was very spoilt!! Tez, how did your Chrissy breaky go??
  13. Nice Helen, especially love the last shot!
  14. CM, you are not having much luck of Late. Whats the prognosis for Texas? Can he be fixed, glad to hear Chester is feeling better. The santa sacks under the tree that my lot were in front of were indeed presents for them, they also had stocking! Very spoilt doggies here! Love Jamie Reindeer!
  15. Sounds like you had a great day all done here too but not before I fitted in one last piece of pudding. It was homemade and totally delish!! A "few" Pics on face book if anyone wants to check out my day.
  16. Thats great Jess, Merry Christmas to you and the fur kids too!! Hope everyone is having a great day, our first lot of visitors have left just waiting for the next lot to arrive, have eaten too much as usual, not sure how we will fit tea in.
  17. So Tez, what's for Breaky?? I'm sure your cooking is fine and he will be to busy looking at you to even notice what he is eating!! *wonders to self what Tezs new friend will get her for Xmas* JJ soooooo good to see you back, hope you stay, we miss you. Theresa, love the Xmas diddy! Is it possible that a dog could be as excited as a kid at Xmas? I put the dogs toys under the tree, ( in a Santa sack type of thing) and Tully discovered them, she wasn't sure at first but once she realized what they were with toys inside she went nuts! So funny, I shut the Door she opened it. She has finally gone to sleep. Hope everyone has a lovely day tomorrow and Santa brings you all something nice. I better get to sleep, think I can hear sleigh bells. ;)
  18. Glad Chester is feeling better. Definatley might be worth checking toes, Cooper had a dislocated toe and it was picked up by the vet and confirmed by X-ray.
  19. Hey whats everyone up to tonight?? All ready for the big fella tomorow night?? I love Christmas eve even if I do have to work and have 10 things to do to get ready for Saturday but it is all good fun. I went back to AP this arvo and had a good walk with the pups, they are all pooped tonight! Had to bath Miss L as she rolled in horse pooh, I seen her heading towards it at top speed and I was close behind her but just not quick enough.
  20. Well done, gorgeous photos! I did a wedding for a friend once after saying no repeatedly I finally relented. The pics I took on the day turned out ok and tey were happy with them which was the main thing. But I will NEVER do another wedding, just not the sort of photography I am into and also way too nerve racking! Give me a dog any day!
  21. Or is it that the food is better for the dog's system and so the dog is less likely to succumb to grass contact allergies? Just a general question I'm posing to anyone out there who would care, want or be able to answer. It is in line with my school of thought that it's about our dog's systems not being as strong as they could be is why we are seeing so many skin issues and that their systems are potentially not as strong as they could be because of what we feed them. And not just because of what we feed our own individual dogs, but what their parents and their parents before that and before that have been fed. Glad you are seeing improvement, tlc. Interesting that you have bought this up, I haven't given it a huge amount of consideration but it certainly makes sense to me. Initially all mine were on meat, veg, etc etc etc plus a small amount of supercoat. This diet didn't suit my oldest who only ate dry so needed a more premium food. So it was only when I decided to swap them all to a premium kibble (originally EP, once I went through a few they wouldnt eat, Advance, Pro plan) that I noticed a big improvement. We swapped from EP to Nutro (EP hard to get here at times) and it only got better, I wanted to give BH a go as the cost is better and the amount is more and the ingredients are so it should be all good! Another thing I have noticed when Lacy got itchy she hated her front feet being touched although I never noticed her biting them, but now I can touch her front feet with no reaction, not sure if it is connected but I am thinking it probly is.
  22. It's funny how a few of you have commented on the coats being better. My guys have always had lovely soft coats but I have never noticed a shine on them but the last week or so I have noticed a real sheen to thier coats. One of mine the vet thought had a slight allergy to grass but after swapping her to Nutro the itches went away, not completely but a marked improvement so I am thinking it was more food than grass. So now on BH I am hoping it doesn't come back, so far so good!
  23. I have to brave the shops again tomorrow for some food bits and pieces for Xmas day. Hope it's not too busy!
