I Can't Believe They Grow Up That Fast.
tlc replied to iheartmorrison's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Morrison has definatley grown a lot since the first pic you posted of him. He is a cutie!! I noticed on your blog (in your Siggy) that you said you got him at 2 weeks? How did you come to have him that young? Did something happen to his mum? Have you started obedience yet? -
Looks like everydoggy had a ball!! Great photos.

Cuteness over load. What a beautiful puppy. Great shots Shell!! Number 4 is my favorite, what a face!!

Thats a given with my lot, I'd prefer to have them safe and sound in the car while I stuff my face, that way I don't have to worry about what they are doing, you know how much of an explorer Cooper is and always has a couple of his off siders tagging along!! Sounds like the size of your block is awesome, plenty of room for the fur kids to run around, your lot will love it!!

Happy Birthday To My Beautiful Big Boy Cooper Jay
tlc replied to tlc's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Thanks for all the Birthday wishes for Cooper, he did have a lovely day and the gang will have another cake each for supper tonight since they were such a hit! i did feel a little guilty as I didn't buy Cooper a present But I did go to the pet shop and look for something but I just decided there is nothing you can buy a boy that already has everything -
Some people are just disgusting when it comes to animal care. I practically revolve my whole life around my dogs, hours I work, Holidays I go on, car I drive, what I do where I go and for how long all revolves around the dogs!! I know not everyone is like this and not having kids for us makes the dogs our number one priority. Some may think that is weird and I have heard, "oh they are only dogs" more than once. But for us/especially me they are our life. It breaks my heart to think of the oldies especially that are being rehomed, I just don't think people that do this are all there, or they have no feeling!!

Waiting for the pup cakes Poor Coop looks a bit scared in this picture, I think it was the candles Bronson thought the cake was yumo!! The recipe I used for the pup cakes was one I found on line and all the dogs seemed to love it. If anyone is interested here it is. Peanut Butter Delight (Doggy Cupcakes) • 1 cup SR Flour • 1 tsp Vanilla • 1/3 cup Honey • 1 Egg • ¼ cup Peanut Butter • ¼ cup Vegetable Oil • 1 cup Shredded Carrots Cream Cheese Frosting • 12oz Fat-Free Cream Cheese (I used light cream cheese) • 2 tsp Honey Directions Peanut Butter Delight (Doggy Cupcakes) • Pre-heat over to 350°F. • Mix ingredients together. • When batter is think enough, scoop into cupcake/cake pan. • Cook 20-30 minutes (mine only needed 20 mins) Cream Cheese Frosting • Mix ingredients together. • Spread on cupcakes. I added a bit of blue food coloring to the icing. also the mixture is very think so you kind of need to spoon it in to the patty pans. -
Today is Coopers 4th Birthday, I just thought I'd add a few pics of his day. The first half he had to spend at home as I had to work, so he would have been asleep till lunch time. Then we went for our walk and I tooka few shots and then we came home to make some doggy cup cakes for the pups dessert.

Sounds good Linda!! So you mean we can bring the furkids with us too?? I don't know whats worse the packing or the unpacking its all crappy to me!! There is two Barbs at Bunnings but everyone knows me as the the dog lady even the customers come in and ask me if I have any new pictures to show them. cause of course I have the photo album in my pocket which I update every few months How big is your yard where you are now, do you have a bit of land there or just a house block?

I have found WD ( western digital ) to be the best.

Dvds will definatley be better. What sort of camera are you using (how many MP's ) you should be able to fit an average of about 1000 photos on a dvd if your camera is around 7 - 8 MP's Another alternative is to get yourself a External hard drive. You can get them small now and they don't need a power supply and they will hold thousands of photos. They work by plugging into usb of your pc and you just transfer the files across. Don't reduce the file size because if you do this and decided down the track you want to make copies you will lose quality.

8 Month Old With Kennel Cough (me Thinks)
tlc replied to nikosg's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi tlc. Just to raise a point here, and for the OP's knowledge - vaccinating against CC does not mean a dog won't contract CC. Apart from that, there are so many different strains of CC around. Yes for sure. My guys have been vacc'ed for it but they still got a mild case. I have heard of people that have not vaccinated for it because of all the different strains of it. I guess if it was me and mine weren't vacc'ed against it i would head of to the vets. I was reluctant at getting my 3 younger ones vacc'ed against CC as when Cooper had his, he had a severe reaction and luckily we got him back to the vets in time for them to give him anti hystamine (sp) so he could breath again. Very scary stuff. I watched the other 3 like a hawk after they were done!! -
Best friends is my favorite shop in Geelong, actually I am a self confessed pet shop addict like you Jess I can spend some serious money in these places. My OH always raves that the dogs have everything and I have nothing and my clothes are rags and it is mostly true, my lot have a better wardrobe than I do. Best friends usually has some great bargains too, I have got collars, doggy life jackets, jackets and other stuff less than half price on occasion. JJ you will be lulled off to sleep by the sounds of frogs, oh presuming they are frogs that make noise, I don't know much about frogs only a bit I have picked up from RJ, hers are just beautiful so green and froggy just like kermit!!

Its amazing how many people have no idea, and lovely to hear the stories of people with common sense. I was outside Bunnings one day with Cooper on a lead. Man and toddler come out, toddler in trolley yelling Puppy Puppy Puppy, (Cooper was 2 at the time) So Dad gets child out of trolley and child runs full pelt at Cooper and launches himself onto Cooper, Cooper is forced to the ground with this kid on top of him at this point (it all happened so fast) I just kneeled down and lifted the child off and let him pat Cooper, he was just grabbing handfuls of coat and skin. I showed him how to be gentle with Coop and all the while the dad just stood there watching on. Cooper just took it all in his stride not a growl. I couldn't believe it, the stupidity of this father!! Thanking god the whole time I have a dog who loves kids. I think people think because dogs are small and fluffy they are friendly, this is not always the case.

8 Month Old With Kennel Cough (me Thinks)
tlc replied to nikosg's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi Nik, Sorry your boy isn't well, (he's very cute by the way!) I noticed in your first post you said you were pretty sure he was vaccinated against CC. Can you find out 100% just check with the vet that vaccinated him. If he wasn't vaccinated for CC I'd definatly be visiting the vet, but if he was I tend to agree with Erny. Two of mine had CC last year after playing with a dog that had a cough (elderly owner didn't realize) I rang the vet and he said no excersise, keep warm, watch for any change and if so bring them in as CC can turn into a secondary infection. I was happy with that as I didn't want to give them AB's "just in case." After a few days they were back to normal. They only had a very mild case and were coughing mainly when they were up and about not at rest. I was lucky only 2 of mine got it and the other 2 didn't. The cough with my two did sound like they had something stuck in thier neck as in they were basically dry reaching. Anyway good luck with your boy, hope he is feeling better soon.
