  6. Thanks Tez, they were just the best puppies ever I guess I am a bit bias!! There is around 6-7 months between each of them, so it was non stop puppies there for a while. I would have another one in a heart beat!! But I have a permit for 4 and thats it, I wouldn't wanna push my luck with a 5th. But seriously with vets, food, grooming products etc I think 4 is about all the budget can handle but nothing but the best for my lot, they are spoilt rotten!! But yes I do miss them being puppies. I have said it before so many times that the puppy stage just goes to quickly!!
  7. Belgian Blue, Love the Dally and the pup together, very cute!! Ivy is just beautiful, her name really suits her!! Tez, Always love to hear you talk about Jane and her anitcs!! Love the photo of her as a pup, I had forgotten how small she was! Its great to reminiss. (sp)

All your hard work paid off and you still have the rest of thier lives to enjoy thier company!! It is great when the older dog teaches the younger dog, My Cooper had a big hand in helping me with the younger ones, he is brilliant with puppies of any kind!! tdierikx, 10 Rottie pups wow, you certainly have had your fair share of puppies, I can tell you love it!! Ewww and the cleaning so much puppy poop but it is a small price to pay for the love of all those puppies!!
  9. Thought I would just add a couple each of my gang ! Cooper Lacy Tully was the most divine pup in every way! Tully getting to know Bailey Bronson My Oh with the gang when Bron was a pup
  10. So many great stories about puppies, I am in my element!! Where to begin Gaylek, I agree they definatley don't stay pups for long enough!! tdierikx, you do a wonderful job, so many beautiful puppies, they all look so adorable, you must be so sad to see them go?!! kirislin, I loved your story, I don't know how breeders do it, I would never be able to get any work done, I'd be playing with pups 24/7 You mentioned training and the bond you share with them that comes from spending so much time together, my lot were so eager to please training seemed to come so naturally and easily till I got Bronson, he is very head strong and has a real willful nature, he tests the boundries all the time but I love it because he is a challenge!! Blacklab, I was always ready for that adolecent stage, around 10 months or so it kicked in with my lot (apart from Lacy) they all tested the boundries to see what they could get away with!! :D Sas, I had always imagined that a dane would be a handful, we have had a few come through obedience and they are the funniest dogs its like when they are pups that they are in a big dogs body and so unco they are great dogs!! Crazy Daisy, What sort of puppy are you going to get next? Ruffy and Daisy are so cute love the pics!! Mysticview, I agree with you for sure about pups being easy to forgive. I laughed when I read your bit about furkids over skin kids I agree! Poodlefan, There is definatly no better time waster than watching puppies play even now mine are adults I still get so much enjoyment out of watching them play together!! Poodlemum, 11 puppies thats a huge number, love the photos. Love the dad shot and the one of all them white puppies heading for the dam..... NicGSDlover, It won't be long and Chase will be all grown up and toilet trained and all the rest and you will wonder where the puppy months went! Your boy is lovely. Have fun on you holiday!! Macka, some puppies are definatley easier, Leia is beautiful she definatly looks like she has a cheeky glint in her eye in those photos. Archer is georgous!! Wolfsong, I can believe you when you say Lestat was easy, I have friends with Lab pups that have been a dream. Mistral and Alchemy sound lovely and full of mischief. We sometimes stop and talk to a man at the park with two samoyeds and they are just the most lovely natured dogs, so calm and so pretty to look at!! Matty, your comment puppies can be a nightmare had me laughing Great pictures, love the sleeping one, nothing quite so peaceful as a puppy sleeping!! We have had some SB pups at obedience and they have been so layed back and just so cruisy with all the other dogs. Oh the broken leg shot, she looks so sad, poor pup that must have been so hard, for you and for her!! Cashew, Your time with your pup sounded so aweful, you both went through so much!! Glad you can look back now and say it was a learning experience and your pup/dog is still here today. You definatley done something right!! Bundys mum, Bundy sounds like a fire cracker :p Dogs and toilet paper = funny photos! Who knows number 2 might be a dream dog!! Aussie3, I love cheeky and naughty too, they look at you with thier faces and all is forgiven, we are such suckers..... ;) faolmor, I think consecutive pups are easier too, they learn so much from the older dogs. My oldest was a great pup, he slept on the bed till we got Lacy then he decided to make way for her and went and put himself to bed in his bed on the floor. Mind you he still gets on the bed for cuddles and a few weeks ago he was sick and he slept on the bed all night, fist time he has done that in nearly 3 years! Masons mum, Did the vet ever tell you what the problem was with the frequent toileting, that must have been so hard. He was definatly cute and great when they are easy to train! Charleswentworth, Charlie sounds like a puppy made in heaven!! A dream dog. He sounds a lot like my girl Tully, she was just a breeze to have, she just went with the flow and was the happiest, quietest pup ever. She is however occasionally corrupted by her brothers and sister, :p love the photos!! Niques, Glad you have come to terms with having a puppy. Sometimes I think we let our emotions get in the way instead of just enjoying them things especially when it comes to puppies! I loved puppy school as well it was great. James is lovely!! Sparkytansy, Your poor pup being allergic to chicken of all things, that must have been really hard!! ;) @ devils spawn, glad he turned a corner at 18 months, must not have been all bad you went back for more!! Your dogs sound like they are full of life and love. Beautiful photos!! Jules P, you sound like me, when mine did something naughty I was like oh well its all part of puppyhood. I'd rather laugh than go off. Sorry to hear your not enjoying dog school, I loved it when they were pups and its only now that they are older that Im finding it a bit boring and not challenging enough for them or for me. Beautiful photos!! luffy4688, Bailey looks like a sweetie. Sounds like you had a rough start, sometimes all the reading and prep you do can never prepare you for the real thing!! Charli73, Sounds like a rough start for you guys too. Glad all is good now. Its hard not to let them put it over you as pups, they just have a way of doing it. Great shots love the ears!! Ams, I agree with you 100% Puppy breath is the best saxonpup, Saxon sounds like he was a model puppy, He look georgous too!! Caseykay, I think your first girl was sent to test your patience, and your second girl sounded like an angel. its funny how it works out sometimes and amazing how so many have bad experiences with their first but still go back for a second and third!! Great that your older 2 now get on well with your puppy!! Newamstaffowner, Oscar sounds like he was a great pup, he was definatley testing the boundries in that teenage stage I bet he would love a brother or a sister. Great photos. What a face!! Amypie, How cute is your boy Kyzer!! He does look so tiny in the pics. He sounds like a real character. Trixie is lovely, she sounds like she really went to town as a pup. I have never seen a dog like her before. I had forgotten till you mentioned it about how they just fall asleep anywhere. we went to puppy school one evening and Bronson had had a big day with the other dogs and he slept through the whole class on my knee!! Joelle, its wonderful you went back again after Ellie and I think you are definatly right you just keep learning as you go!! Newfsie, Newfy pups are just the cutest!! Your babys are beautiful!! Mokhahouse, LOL another that agrees that puppies aren't puppies for long enough, it definatley goes to quick. Your 2 look made for each other!! Schnauzerlover, was there anything in particular you didn't like or you just prefer adult dogs?? Scarlet, Good point about the kids keeping the pups active and occupied. I think dogs/pups in a house with kids are a lot more entertained. That was one of the reasons we got Lacy as Cooper was so lonely, he needed more than just me and the OH..... Here is Cooper and Lacy when Lacy was a puppy, they adored each other!! Jenni87, love that you got all clucky talking about Ella, this certainly is a thread for puppy cluckiness!! what are you waiting for?! Lovely photos, what a cutie!! I guess this is a thread we all can relate to in one way or another and it is really good to hear others experiences good or bad!!
  11. As Rubystar said dont be sorry for too many photos, infact there can never be too many photos especially of puppies Lottie is adorable!! Amazing eyes and color!! And a red merle sounds like a great idea . Rubystar, its funny I don't remember mine going through that gangly stage, I'm sure they did but I just didn't notice!! Puppy breath is just the bestest!!
  12. Mim those photos are so cute, your pups are adorable!! The muddy one made me laugh and remember my white girl had a liking to play in the water bowl and run through the dirtiest part of the yard. There was always a lot of towels used during winter, they all got used to having thier paws wiped pretty quickly!! Really love the big smiley shot!!
  13. Moose is so cute and so tiny. I would have been scared I would break him. ;) I guess it is an awesome responsibility when it comes right down to it they depend on you for everything and its up to us to do the right thing by them. I do worry about that all the time!!
  14. you have just described me when I got Cooper, I worked from home and spent every waking moment with him with the camera practically stuck to me He got to love kids very early on too as i was looking after kids at the time, which was great for him and them!!
  15. She is a real cutie!! Two of mine were winter puppies and while we don't get temps below 0 but very close, mine all learnt to do thier business at night pretty quick ;) As for the mouthing, Cooper took a bit of teaching but the rest all learnt bite inhibition from the older ones which was great for us!! They sure do grow out of the puppy stage too quick, I have never seen a black GSD before she is lovely!! Great photos. Two of mine were/are very clingy, one grew out of it but the youngest is still a big mummas boy!!
  16. B & S, great shots, love the last little tubby puggy shot especailly, he looks like he has just had a big feed ;) We spent a lot of time with a friends BC puppy when she first got him and he was such a bouncy and in your face puppy, my lot didn't know what to make of him!!
  17. I can totally understand that!! Like I said in the opening post, everyone had different things to contend with in thier lives which has a great impact on how we cope with our pups. If I had kids I would probly not have 4 dogs.
  18. Porthos & Tagnan = cuteness overload.... ;)
  19. If she gets a dog you can give them back, by then she will have a good supply!! Maybe Ernie is right about a medical condition? can dogs get diabetes?
  20. Clover those pics are sooooo cute especially the two pups together, how adorable!! Puggerup, you must have your hands full with 4 skin kids and two pups!! Mim, I think you hit the nail on the head when you said you had good puppies, like me I think it makes it a lot easier to enjoy the puppy time if they are good. I might have been different if I had a hard to manage pup. I was lucky with night toileting and sleeping in, even now it is nothing for them to sleep in, as long as Im in bed they just sleep. Gee I make mine sound like little angels ;) they did have thier faults as pups but I just seen it as part of the experience. Even down to having to buy a new dining table as Bronson ate through the legs of the chairs on our old one, little by little each day when I was at work so I waited till he was older and through the small destructive phase he went through and then we replaced the table and chairs!!
  21. I always attribute my two fatties with the dreaded metabolism problems like in humans. It stands to reason it has to be the same in dogs as it is in humans and all species I guess. Puggerup, earlier on I found out that my MIL was feeding my lot choc chip cookies when they were visiting her (my OH takes them on the weekend to visit her) I went off tap as you can imagine, now she has a box of dog bickys and they are allowed one of them each when they go to visit. ;) @ pug fat camp!! How cute!!
  22. I have no advice, but I sure know it is tough trying to get weight off a dog, 2 of mine are built like elite athletes and the other two are built like couch potatoes:laugh: they all get plenty of excersise and I do mean plenty. But no matter what I do I cant seem to shift the weight off the two fattys. They have both been to the vets and she agreed the two of them are over weight Lacy by about 2 kilos for her size and Bronson about 3 kilos for his size. They dont get as much food as the other two and any bones they have they get the leanest. They eat no junk food what so ever apart from a small raw hide treat in the evening and a half a pigs ear about once a month. I sometimes feel guilty which doesn't help as they do so much excersise and then have the tiniest tea for the amount of excersise they do. On a busy busy day they may get a little extra like thier usual meal as well as a couple of chicken necks. I do feel however they are very healthy and the vet confirmed this, shiney coats bright eyes etc so I guess thats something. But the bottom line is we have to keep trying to get the weight off, I do want them to live long healthy and happy lives!! Can you up Ollies excersise, maybe walk him everyday? Is the bones he has fatty or just meaty? I always give the fattier bones to my two non fatties. ;) I also get annoyed when people comment on my dogs weight, it makes me feel like a bad owner and I know I'm not!! When you look at all 4 of them together it is obvious that they are not all over weight! Good luck with Ollie!!
  23. I meant to add, feel free to add puppy pics!!
  24. Hi Guys, after reading moosmums thread about the pup being returned after one night, it got me thinking after reading all the posts about how people felt and some having second thoughts and moments of what the hell have I done ;) I just wondered how many people loved the puppy stage? I know I can't be the only one...... There have been a lot of new people with new pups lately and Id like to hear from them too as well as you guys with adult dogs. I loved every single minute of my lot being puppies even the toilet training, I was lucky with my first 3 they were all very good puppies, Bronson the youngest was a crier and very unsettled at night for the first few nights till I got him a crate and put him by the bed and after that we never looked back!! I never had a moment where I thought what the hell have I done. Don't get me wrong I can totally understand why others would feel like this as we all have different things in our lives to contend with. I think with me it was the fact that I have no kids and no other ties to anything apart from my OH and family most of who live away, I only work part time so I had lots and lots of time to enjoy and devote to my pups. To me they are number one!! So many people said I was mad (some still think Im mad) having 4 dogs all so close together in age but it just felt right and it still does. Lots of people were amazed that I didn't even mind the practically constant toilet training for nearly 2 years, but it just got easier with each pup as the younger ones learnt from the older ones so it was a breeze really. Anyway enough chit chat, Id like to hear stories about you and your pups the good the bad and the ugly, did you love it or were you constantly wanting them to grow up. I still have the best of both worlds as my youngest is 2 now but he still thinks he is 6 months old Im sure. He is such a puppy, my OH constantly says will he ever grow up?? I hope he doesn't!!
