  5. Sounds like Bundy is settling right in, hope all is still going smoothly! It around about hair cut time for my lot again, I staggered them last time so the boys were due first, I decided to day I would clip Bronson first and when I got to his face it was fairly boofy and hard to get even so I went radical and made him into a little poodley boy. Man O Man he has such a long nose, you don't realize when it is covered in fur. I have clipped his face short before but never this short. My mum said he looks distinguished. hanging with the girlies
  6. poor doggy, did you take a before shot? He must have been wooly? Is he some kind of poo x?
  7. I know it's a world gone mad! I read somewhere else that 'she' was given the suspended sentence because in jail she would be at risk of being bullied. Seriously the crapest reason ever for not sentencing someone for such a heinous act!

  10. Do you think I should delete the link? I don't want to upset people just venting, These sort of stories always get to me and every now and then there is one like this that just makes you go Bit like that awful disgusting creature that threw the puppies in the creek, that still plays on my mind.
  11. Penny looks like a lovely girl. Obedience school will definatley help you bond more with Penny. Can you ask your MIL to refrain from feeding Penny at all, not even a treat no food what so ever. What a terribly awful situation. I would speak with your MIL and tell her how you feel. You want Penny to be your dog so she needs to take a step back and you need to find some way to stop her heading over to their place.
  12. Ill copy the whole story for those who don't want to open the link. Dog owner, 27, starved her German Shepherd puppy in tiny cage with no food or water for SEVEN MONTHS (but she's avoided jail) WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT Kent woman Stacey Lockhurst got suspended jail term Kept puppy Jack in cage surrounded by his own waste RSPCA said it's one of 'worst cruelty cases ever seen' By MARK DUELL PUBLISHED: 11:03 GMT, 9 September 2012 | UPDATED: 14:12 GMT, 9 September 2012 A dog owner who starved her pet to death in a tiny cage surrounded by his own waste has avoided jail but been banned from keeping animals for life. Stacey Lockhurst, 27, of Dartford, Kent, kept her German Shepherd puppy in a squalid cage with no food and water for an astonishing seven months. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals described it as one of the worst cases of animal cruelty its officers had ever seen. Lockhurst was given a 20-week prison sentence - suspended for a year - by magistrates on Friday for her treatment of the dog, named Jack. RSPCA investigators first visited her former home in Erith, south east London, in October 2010 - when the dog was just 16 weeks old. They offered advice on training and suggested the pair hand over the puppy, but he was found dead seven months later, covered with a curtain. His container was infested with maggots and flies and a water bowl was full of excrement. A post mortem examination found Jack was emaciated. He had no fat and probably died of starvation, with the examining vet saying he ‘suffered greatly and unnecessarily for a great period of time’. 'She regrets what she did. I don't think she set out with that in mind. She's a very vulnerable lady' Wayne Crowhurst, defending Lockhurst was found guilty at Dartford Magistrates' Court of causing unnecessary suffering to the dog and not addressing his rapid weight loss. District Judge Michael Kelly said the case was ‘particularly bad’ - but Lockhurst, who has learning difficulties, had been ‘influenced to an extent’. He added while passing sentence in court that ‘there may have been some lack of appreciation of what was happening’ to the dog. Her partner Paul Brunsden, 25, was jailed for 20 weeks and also banned for life from keeping animals when he appeared in court last month. Lockhurst was also ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work and pay £200 court costs. Her defence lawyer said she would have been bullied in prison had she been jailed. ‘She regrets what she did,’ Wayne Crowhurst, defending, added. ‘I don't think she set out with that in mind. She's a very vulnerable lady.’ Banner-waving animal rights campaigners were outside court to protest along with members of a Facebook group formed in memory of Jack
  13. My punishment for them would be lock them in a cage with little food and water and let them starve and die a slow and agonising death! I don't blame you guys for not looking at the link, I did it was on my facebook news feed. Its just shocking to think some of the human race are capable of doing such things. Makes me sad to be a part of it at times!
  14. WARNING Don't open the link if you are sensitive, very graphic images of starved dog. STORY HERE Part of the article below. A dog owner who starved her pet to death in a tiny cage surrounded by his own waste has avoided jail but been banned from keeping animals for life. I know there is stories like this all the time but this one just angered me more than words can say. I just can't understand how a judicial system can hand over such a light sentence. Also surely in 7 months you would have thought that a family member or someone might have alerted the authorities to the shocking condition of the poor dog. Someone must have initially alerted the RSPCA as they came when the dog was 16 weeks. I have no more words, just total disbelief!
  15. Hi and Welcome, it certainly sounds like a difficult situation and it always is where family are concerned. If it were me I would either put a fence up or leave pup inside during the day which could prove difficult if you are gone for long periods of time. You certainly can't compete if she is spending long hours with the MIL as she will (has) definatley bonded with her so it seems. Sorry I am not much help hopefully someone else will come along with some more ideas. We need to see some pics of your pup. :)
  16. Most of the Aussies I have met are exactly like your girl SP, very cruise, layed back and love everyone. Edited to add whoops just noticed you have changed your user name.
  17. I'm O neg and a regular donor. Can't a person with AB neg blood recieve O neg blood? They always tell me at the blood clinic my blood can go to anyone.
  18. Good idea, I must look at Lightroom too. To change it is it under settings somewhere in the bar at the top of the screen? I'll have a search for it.
  19. Jo that makes perfect sense, I had read something recently that said similar. So I'm guessing the cameras would be the same.
  20. I'm happy to delete posts and title if this thread will cause issue, that certainly wasn't my intention.
  21. I know nothing about calibrating monitors, I have a mac and didn't do anything to it. Shouldnt they come set up right out of the box? I am also wondering about what setting to have the camera on and does this make a difference to the computer screen. Should the camera be set to RGB or adobe? Sorry don't mean to hijack but thought it was a related question?
  22. Hey at least you are trying to do the right thing, no point cying over split milk as the saying goes, you ave the pupiesnow so you might as well soak up a muh info as you can get, being a first time pet owner with these pups you will certanly have your work cut out for you. Are you familiar with how much excercise these pups can have while they are growing? Another thing for you to read up on, I think there is development section in the puppy forum, it may be pinned at the top. Are you on your own or do you have somen else that can help you?
  23. Here is the link to the place where this one came from. The photos they posted of the her she looks divine. I was just curious as I have never heard mention of them before. This one looks just like a regular Aussie. This is the Facebook page is is on.
  24. Thats amazing, I think it would be similar for all dogs, I think they would use their claws more than we think. I know my youngest on occasion jumps up to greet me and the first thing he does is 'hang on' with his claws. Maybe the longer the claws the faster they can run?
