  1. they've done a GREAT job..... easy to read, easy to navigate......
  2. probably because they also have an "Australian Breeds" Ch show in conjunction wth the Royal on the Saturday night.
  3. yes and no if a dog consistently wins RUBOB then he/she could quite easily be the most consistent winner in the breed and therefore deserve to win. example ... a dog gets RUBOB at 3 shows to 3 different dogs ... the RUBOB winner is the most consistent winner. a "cap" on the number of shows in my opinion is the only change that is needed.
  4. and a very cute pic it is........
  5. organisers must be disappointed with the overall entry..... Saturday under 600 dogs and I think about 100 extra on Sunday... not great for "metropolitan" shows !!!!!
  6. I'm with you Sway I too have spoken with many people who like the idea of a 30 show "capping". A poll would be great. For many people they can't show every weekend, they can't go away to 4 or 5 show weekend circuits....
  7. would be nice if they updated their website .... they don't even have the February schedules up? or don't they do it anymore ?
  8. same here..... and most of the time it was a convenient location for both parties .... I see no problem with this.
  9. you simply ask if there are any conditions regarding all aspects... stud fee, litter registration/sale .... one would hope you have already done some homework on why you want to use that particular dog. once you know ALL conditions then its up to you to decide whether they are acceptable to you - it's nothing to do with anyone else. I know people who have agreed to the most bizzare conditions but they wanted to use the dog and accepted the conditions. and.... GET IT IN WRITING !!!
  10. re 'double points' ..... if you're in Tas, WA , NT for example then you're all in the same boat so to speak.... you can still be very competitive in the "State" section of the Pointscores.
  11. if they're that desperate good luck to them ......
  12. I like the idea of limiting the number of shows.... as someone suggested maybe the best 4 per month. As one who has participated and done well in the pointscores - #1 Cavalier KCS 2009 (Breed Pointscore), I have decided not to this year as it comes down to having to attend too many shows to truely be competitive. Yes, many do it just for fun but there are those that are defintely "playing for sheepstations" :-) cheers
  13. exactly... there is no excuse.... if you have another dog to get for the next class then you get someone else to hold the dog in the ring being critiqued... I have done that on many occasions.
  14. well IMO - it is a case of bad sportsmanship............
  15. I hope not..... whats the point of having a great outdoor venue if its not used .....
  16. very quick indeed ....... well done on you BIG win
  17. in total agreement here.... we need to be out there and advertising/promoting ....
  18. don't know dogs names but it was Vicki Dwyers Peke & Esther Joseph's Pug.... today (Saturday) Best in Group was the Cavalier .. Ch Dapsen In It To Win It don't know any other results sorry - just got a text message from my friend after her Best in Group win
  19. BMP ... this is the same setup I have with my Santa Fe (Hyundai) and it's great !!!!
  20. As others have stated, here in Vic it is not mandatory for "non commercial breeders" to microchip.... I do NOT microchip puppies prior to sale (at 8-9 weeks) , our puppy buyers are advised to have this done when they take their new puppy for it's vet check (which is part of our sale contract)
  21. keeping everything crossed here Gael such great shows - lets hope they're not adversely effected .... cheers, David
  22. Group winners were ; (breed only sorry) ... Group1: Pug Group2: Wire Foxie Group3: Labrador Group4: Borzoi Group5: Border Collie Group6: Siberian Group7: Dalmation didn't stay for BIS ....
  23. yes, it is Dogs 6 months of age or over that "shall not be accepted as physically entire unless both testicles have fully descended and are in the scrotum". so... with Baby Puppies they can get away with it ... and why would judges bother looking ??
  24. I also heard Group 1 was a great day for Chris Johns (Papillons) taking out Best in Group.. AND RunnerUp Best in Group !!!!
  25. This is where the confusion was... the "official" notices on the DogsVic website never at any stage said the show "will" start at 7.30am. Up until Thursday it always stated "in the event that the forecast temperature be 38c or higher" .... and then as per the policy, the final notice 36 hours in advance stated that it will start at 9am as scheduled.
