Can They Be Friends Living In The Same Home?
Crisovar replied to Kashing's topic in General Dog Discussion
Im not really sure the maltese is playing with me of not because I really feel hurt.. ... but if I say no, he will release for few seconds and bite again... My family own a Malamate in my hometown but I think the maltese is much more better compare with Malamute. That malamute is just crazy and naughty. It sounds as if the Maltese is badly lacking proper training and guidelines, you are going to be bringing a large breed dog into this situation who is going to be large enough to cause this little dog serious damage if it retaliates. Do you think you can manage this? It will be your dog that wears the blame and a friendship probably will be strained. I have large dogs and toy dogs in the same household, but they are all mine and all live by my rules and boundaries and we manage them. -
Are you prepared for the distress and expense of a C section?? I would have her desexed now. Just read this again, this dog needs to be handed over to the pound. No ifs no buts.

I have only ever used plain old molasses the same as I use for the horses. I also have only ever used it as a very temporary thing for a particularly problem dog, never long term, used as such I don't think the sugar would be an issue.

Why? Many outlets sell good quality pet meat with no added crap. I buy minced lamb, cheek and heart, no additives, freshly minced, same place also sells freshly minced chicken carcasses. No preservatives no dye. All by products from their human consumption goods. Why would I spend $7 kg for human grade mince.

Stop The Use Of Pound Animals For Experiments At Queensland University

Actually I do see a problem, when I took my dog into the vets and he crashed the vets didn't do a full run of blood tests which would have identified the problem. Now it's possible that they believed that a blood test wouldn't prove the diagnoses they were leaning towards, but it's also possible that due to his advanced and rapid state of decline they believed that the dog was 'going to die anyway' and so further investigation was a waste of time. Now I cannot confirm or deny that this was the case but it certainly makes me wonder whether the 'it's going to die anyway' mantra is as harmless as it initially appears. What exactly does that have to do with pound dogs?? -
Car sickness can be managed and usually is not a permanent issue, I don't understand what the big deal is. In my experience any dog no matter how well bred can suffer car sickness. I guess that is why people are puzzled? at your post.
-
Oh, and do this outside. Now you've gone and ruined any chance we have of a OMG look what happened to my house post
-
A warm hydrobath and a good blow out with an air force dryer will do wonders. Even the blower on him dry and and using an undercoat rake will get heaps out.
-
Car sickness happens in any breed pure or mixed, most dogs will grow out of it. Travel calm ginger tabs, over the counter car sickness tabs from the vet, ginger nut biscuits, all work well for most dogs.

Yet people are still bleating for more restrictions on registered breeders, what a joke it all is. No wonder breeders are walking away.

And that's the sort of crap that your average puppy buyer doesnt want to be bogged down by. We dont care. Just sell us a nice puppy and keep all of that infighting to yourselves. Fight amongst yourselves about health testing etc - the average Joe on the street doesnt want to buy into that. We want a puppy and a nice, rational breeder. Nothing else. We dont want your first born child, a lifetime guarantee against a possible health problem, title deeds to your house. Keep it simple. The thing is though some certainly do care and they appear to be in the majority, expectations seem to be higher and often unrealistic, is this a public perception of dogs or just the way the public is heading with everything. Has the way the public sees buying a dog really changed because of the way dogs and breeders are or just because we are now such a demanding and consumer driven society.

You have more faith than me then.

Yes. Exactly the same thing applies to many human conditions. There's far, far less than 100% knowledge about nature, prevention & cure of all conditions in humans. So why has this expectation grown up that it's somehow negligent & irresponsible that conditions occur in dogs, to which there is no current easy answer??? Except winging it with protocols that do the best in the circumstances. All the pedigree dogs exposed stuff, never addressed that. That is one of the big questions Mita. I for one am heartily sick of the expectation of a perfect product, one that can be produced assembly line faultlessly taking no heed of mother nature and her sense of humour, or any other outside factors after the pup leaves the breeder. The general publics expectations go far beyond reasonable at times and I believe it is getting worse. Good breeders are walking, not just good but some of the very best, because nothing they do is good enough for the critics. When breeders are doing the very best they can and still get slammed you cannot blame them for walking away. I had an owner ask me what I could have done to prevent her dog dying so early, the dog was 12 yo. She is getting a mutt this time around because they are hardier. I had her dogs parents well into their teens. A lab owner said very much the same to me last week at work when they were discussing possibly Euthing their very old lab, the poor bugger is in his teens and weighs nearly 40 kg, but labs all have bad joints they say. Their dog came from a very good kennel, are they happy with a dozen plus years of happy typical dog? No. For every sad story of a buyer who has been hard done buy there is another tale of woe of a breeder who has copped the same through no fault of their own. What is going to be good enough to satisfy these ever increasing demands? The mum and dad hobby breeders will soon be forced out due to the rising costs and demands of trying to breed the perfect product, they will walk. What will we be left with? Large commercial breeders who will be able to afford to keep up with the testing and the refunds and the facilites that will be demanded. But wait, we don't want them either.

Gsd Puppy Won't Stop Biting Older Shih Tzu - Help!
Crisovar replied to annukya's topic in Puppy Chat
The Shih Tzu is telling the pup to stay out of her face by growling and the pup doesn't heed her warning, separate them or it will end in tears. -
Cortavance spray from your vet may help her.

Please everyone who intends using the pharmacy for cheaper drugs, don't neglect to have vet checks to monitor your dogs progress. Keep your vet up to speed with your pets condition. -

What is wrong with the term brood bitch? A bitch is a female dog, any female dog. A brood bitch has an important extra purpose , the choice of a brood bitch is not to be taken lightly what is wrong with them having a name?

Fully anaesthetised animals that are operated on then not allowed to wake up, how is that barbaric? The animals are treated well, handled with respect and are helping to teach vet students how to perform procedures that will benefit many loved pets. -
Most good kennels will now be booked out for the Dec/January crazy season so don't delay.

Sounds like an irritation due to the intubation or he was incubating CC before he went in for his procedure.
