  1. That's rather over size for a Staffordshire Bull Terrier Your dog can only get as big as it's genetics have it programmed for, same goes for muscle mass, exercised and fed right your dog will reach his potential. He is a pound dog yes? So you have no idea what his bloodlines are. Sounds like you are expecting the dog to be something he isn't.
  2. It is a flea rinse meant to be applied after shampooing and left on to act as a residual against fleas and ticks. Are you using it in the hydrobath?
  3. The Fwits that make our laws have no knowledge or understanding of dog training or dog sports, they ban breeds through ignorance and fear it is as simple as that.
  4. The 3yr protocol as advised by the AVA is that regular yearly vaccine will be sufficient for 3 yrs. Unfortunately the majority of vaccine manufacturers refuse to play the game with this and insist that the vaccine must be given yearly. So if a vet signs off on a yearly one for 3yrs it is deemed off lable One manufacturer however has produced a registered 3yr vaccine.
  5. I do know that back in the 80's there was talk that the quality of many of the bobtails was not up to scratch and I would imagine if that is true since docking was actually legal then that they would have been simply not considered for breeding, after all no one would know that we would end up faced with the tail docking ban. I know some breeders were very wary of the gene and viewed them as freaks, so I am guessing that eventually we didn't end up with too many around the place.
  6. There have been natural bob tailed rotties in this country for many years from the early '70's I think, I'm sure a Rottie person will be able to clarify.
  7. Vetadine wash or spray, the spray pump is handy for punctures etc and hot spots if you wish.
  8. I have no idea why you were not allowed to inspect but I must respond to this It certainly would have disturbed the dogs though, excitement can lead to possibly aggression or overly rough play if you have a number of dogs in your care you are wanting to avoid that. Boarding kennels rarely allow people to just turn up and check them out for the same reason, the dogs need settled quiet time and strangers constantly coming and going disturbs everyone, and raises noise levels.
  9. It depends what your dog is allergic to, not all dogs react to the same ingredients and the only way you will find out is to do eliminations. Suck it and see is pretty hit and miss IMO.
  10. Born with naturally tinsy winsy little tails
  11. He will be fine to start prevention straight up, no need to test him.
  12. Just apply the curash to the spot. Don't wash it you need to let it dry out.
  13. Why not take them one of the shelters that have been suggested to you, so that they will be desexed before rehoming?
  14. There are a couple of ways that the procedure can be done whilst the animal is anaesthetised, either through an incision on the throat, or simply down the throat. The vocal cords are either partially crushed or cut. The animals still bark, it is toned down. Recovery is very quick and the dog is back to doing it's normal doggy things in no time.
  15. Our civilised christian country has a great track record with animals, lets kill over 10,000 dogs so the evil pitbulls don't eat us all alive on the streets. Lets not start on the destruction of our native species. Ignorance, stupidity and cruelty is alive well wherever humans walk.
  16. Exactly! The Vaccine manufacturers need to be targeted. At the moment we only have one brand of vaccine that is registered for 3 yr. Administering any of the others and signing off on them for 3yrs is off label. Target where the fault lies people.
  17. Uhm OK Ch Wybong Just Hooper BIS Sydney Royal 1980 what did he look like to you, he certainly looked like a BB to me and that was a little more than 10 -15 years ago.
  18. The prices of some of the so called DD's I have seen advertised beat many of the pure bred prices hands down, Labradoodles and Spoodles , cavoodles and schmoodles, cockerpoos and Jugs aaaah I think some of the pure breed breeders have missed a golden opportunity. Change the name to something totally ridiculous and sell it for a small fortune. I could buy a flash TV for the price one of my clients paid for a Golden Doodle. ;)
  19. I'm sorry this comment on colour is something that really bugs me. Goldens originated in Scotland and they were from light gold to cream, never mahogany or red. Golden puppies are lighter in colour and as they get older they darken. White is a fault (I've never seen one) but cream is acceptable in Australia (not favoured in the US). A good golden coat can be light cream and is still very much acceptable. I prefer my dogs with a lighter coloured coat. I have english goldens and am not a fan of the American dogs. Each to his own. Every Golden sheds differently same as GSD's do. Goldens that are kept more as outside dogs grow a thicker winter coat and will have more of a major shed when the weather gets warmer. Also being outside you may not notice the hair as much as it gets blown away. I had a short coated GSD who shed a lot more than my friends long haired. I never said mahogany or red, I said gold, which is not white or near white. Some of the so called cream dogs today are really stretching the imagination. Sorry, can you clarify what you mean by so called cream? Cream is an acceptable colour in Goldens. It really is a preference. When it comes down to it it really is what you like. My light coloured Golden is more than acceptable in colour and will (hopefully) be judged on confirmation than the colour of his coat. I mean that some of the "cream" dogs are so pale that you have to stretch your imagination to see how they can be called cream.
  20. Health testing can only do so much, BBs like any other living creature will sometimes fall victim to the SHIT HAPPENS fairy. All Breeders can do is test use the information at hand and breed to the best of their ability. If you want a lifetime guarantee that nothing will fail buy a stuffed toy.

  22. Sry have to say that it would be a no from me too.
  23. Nobody here can comment on a wound that they didn't see, before it was treated, drain like that are not uncommon after dog fight injuries. Was there damage under the skin?? Who knows. Take the dog to another vet for a second opinion.
