  1. A good Golden coat that is actually gold and not the favoured pretty pretty pale fluffy bear type that is so often seen should actually shed the dirt fairly well. I believe they shed less too.
  2. No, actually I know what you mean. I guess I expected the dry food to soak up the water and become soft like fresh food. My thoughts too, but the fact that it stays so dry has meant that I won't be making it a part of the diet here.
  3. I use warm water, I have even broken the pellets up, no go, it simply floats LOL This morning I actually forgot about it whilst I was doing something else and 45 mins later still floating on the water.
  4. I've not been able to get it to actually soak up the water either
  5. We get that you are not a fan, but others are, and even if you haven't met them there are healthy sound BBs out there. I live in QLD, and I've met them, and they don't fall in a heap despite our summers. I was football tackled last week by an 11yo BB who has lived all her life here in sunny Qld she aims to remove my shoes every time we meet. I know that her owner will happily pay whatever price to get another that will give them the same joy that they have had from her. That is their choice.
  6. I have some here, it reads ok, but far too expensive for large dogs IMO. K9 Naturals
  7. People who let their dogs meet and greet strange dogs uninvited shit me, I don't understand the need for all this doggy play group stuff wherever dogs happen to be. If I have my small dogs out and about I don't want large dogs in their faces no matter what their intentions, and "he is only being friendly" shits me too. Many of the same people wouldn't do it if I had my big dogs with me instead. Some people with large friendly dogs need to learn to respect the personal of space of others, be it on the street in the park or in the Vets waiting room.
  8. I don't think it matters that you are torn between 2 different breeds that are so different, many of us have a quite eclectic canine family, I like others have a great appreciation of many and varied breeds and enjoy the diversity that living with such a blended household brings. IMO go with the breed that you feel you can do the most justice and gain the most enjoyment from at this time. 2 years down the track you may feel that you want to experience the other side, and if you are ready for another then you may just have both of your chosen breeds. Neither is superior they are simply different.
  9. I'd happily pay that for a WELL BRED BB pup from an ethical source, if that is what I wanted. As for the vet bills and the risk of ill health, well, you risk that with any living creature, breeders can only do so much mother nature often throws in a shit happens just for kicks, and well my rescue FF who cost me nothing to purchase, is the most expensive animal to maintain in good health that I have ever owned..
  10. And just how many GSD do you see that look as bad as the carefully chosen ones featured on that video.
  11. Capricorn Animal Aid may be able to help you if your are near to them??
  12. Hence my question, are there any problems in the lines that are here, the dogs came from somewhere? are the lines clear.
  13. When did you clip her face last? Could she be irritated from that and scraching or rubbing her face?
  14. Are the health issues that you are insisting upon them testing for an issue in the lines that are in this country?
  15. Not good to listen to whilst drinking coffee
  16. Seriously the type of food your animal requires according to it's species is one of the aspects to be taken into consideration when you choose to own it. If you do not wish to train, groom, exercise, house or feed according to the animals needs do not own it, simple.
  17. All you can do is offer support if and when your daughter needs it, it really is not your place to try and do anything else.
  18. Dingoes and feral dogs taking stock is not new, what do you mean that it is being kept quiet? It is part and parcel of living on the land.
  19. And your experience with working dogs is? Probably on par with my experiences as an astronaut
  20. Porridge with honey and milk sticks to their ribs and certainly won't hurt them. My babies always had a warm starter of soaked oats, honey and goats milk as their stupid o'clock brekky before having their meat and bones meal at a more respectable hour. The oldies also appreciate a warm starter of Soaked oats with honey and milk on cold mornings. Does she need it? No, but it certainly wont hurt her as part of a balanced diet.
  21. When you say she is still teething, do you mean that she has some baby teeth that have not fallen out as her adult teeth have come through? No by teething it is like all she wants to do is chew on solid objects and she seems to be really slow eating compared to what she use to eat like. Have you had a good look in her mouth to see if she has not got retained baby teeth giving her trouble, sometimes they can make the dogs mouth sore, have you checked to see if she has something stuck in between her teeth or in her gum line that may be making it uncomfortable for her to eat. Does her breath smell fresh? She may simply be chewing objects for fun and our of boredom, and her slower eating could simply be a case of her maturing and not feeling so hungry all the time. If you are really concerned after you have checked her mouth out maybe a visit to your vet could be in order.

  23. The majority of registered breeders do not claim any expenses, what they do is not a business it is a hobby, albeit one they take very seriously.
