  1. From the photos there is nothing to indicate demodex, it looks like typical zitty crestie skin. Most vets when faced with CC skin have no idea. Show the dog in the flesh to a CC breeder, they will know.
  2. Looks like hairless CC skin to me. There have been CC x Dach around for some time. My money is on that. Pyoben shampoo on those pimply areas should help.
  3. I seriously hope that some of the posters here never have a life changing tragedy in their lives. They may be horribly surprised at how they are affected.
  4. How many of the so called Bull some things that are featuring in all these attacks actually look like what they are Id'd as?? I shake my head at most of them, you would have to have a pretty damn vivid imagination to see anything other than plain simple mutt in most of them. Anyone with time to spare should troll through pound and shelter websites, it is an eye opener. If it is large it is bull something cross. If it is black and tan it is rottie or GSD x If it brindle it is staffy, anything white and fluffy is maltese. The problem is half the people that own these dogs really have no idea, they believe what they were told when they obtained the dog and know no better, and many ACOs etc have no clue either. The Id's on many are so far off base it is a joke. The dogs surrendered to our pound or seized after incidents, which can range from chasing chooks to biting someone, are all shapes and sizes, short haired, long haired, all involved in ATTACKS, because that is what any of these incidents are called. Do they all make the press? NO.
  5. It is quite possible for any animal to react to any product that is applied to their skin, you say the dog continued to lick at it, I think you will find that this has created the biggest issue.
  6. FFS here we go again. I almost lost my face to a poodle I was grooming, would you classify Poodles as a dangerous breed?? ALMOST is the critical word here, now isn't it. Why?? If I was a child I would have lost my face, the dog was deadly serious, it was dangerous. Any breed can inflict terrible injuries you would certainly have your head in a dark warm place not to understand that. What child grooms poodles for a living? Some dogs are easier to groom than others, some dogs hate it and find the groomer to be threatening, they cannot flee, so they fight. If you think that a toy poodle can inflict the same injury as a bull something or other it is you that's got your head in a dark warm place not me??? I didn't say it was a toy poodle if I recall. Any dog that is happy to launch itself at the face of a person is dangerous regardless of breed or size. I required plastic surgery as a child to repair damage done by a small dog, way under 10kg, no bull breed in it all. Did it make the news? no, dog bites didn't back then, today it seems to be very newsworthy and we shoot the dog before we even know why or what happened.

  9. All she needed to do was to pick up a phone. Change "couldn't" to "wouldn't" Some people react to a tragedy in their lives in ways that we cannot comprehend, it is easy to stand on the outside and judge what we do not understand.
  10. What did your Vet have to say about the Vaccines that are available that are registered for 3yr use???
  11. Why not have the dog checked out by a vet chiro if you think there is something going on.
  12. Your dogs energy intake is obviously more than it needs, cut back on the food and up the exercise. It could be as simple as the type of food you are feeding having far more energy than your dog requires. Different dogs have different needs, you could feed another dog the same thing and it would not gain condition, you have to tailor the diet and exercise to suit the dog. I don't find the variation of less than a kilo excessive. Had she emptied out before you weighed her both times? It can be a slow process to slim them down you need to keep at it.
  13. I would be thinking introducing it to being Groomed properly not necessarily clipped, there is a big difference.
  14. NOBIVAC is the only (afaik) registered 3yr vaccine, so it has a name. So if your vet uses Nobivac they are using the 3yr VACCINE if they are not, but are recommending 3yrly vaccination, they are following the 3yr PROTOCOL.
  15. May I ask why 2 yearly?
  16. A lot of vets will condemn raw feeding, simply due to a lack of knoweldge; they think you just feed your dog a lump of mince and that its, while others are actually sponsored by dog food companies. Hope this helps smile.gif Where does this crap come from, in all the years I have worked in the Veterinary Industry (nearly 30) I have never come across a Vet who is sponsored by a dog food company.
  17. Some dogs go off 2 meals a day, maybe she simply isn't hungry. Let her skip a meal, then put down her normal meal next time and see what she does. I would look at a better quality dry food though.
  18. It is not a creature, it is a DOG that has idiot owners.
  19. I have had many mostly white dogs and have bred them and never had an allergy issue. All quite closely bred too shock horror. My allergy dog is a blk & tan pound puppy.
  20. Oh another expert, awesome! Love it how some people think they know better than Science Find me a study that that reports on the effects that all these things combined has on our dogs. I doubt very much if anyone has ever looked into the whole picture, there are studies on individual products, but a total environment I seriously doubt. Science is not perfect, and every generation they discover more and more things that we have been slowly killing ourselves with. Agent orange and napalm were considered okey dokey to use once.
  21. Worming kills what is present it does not prevent them picking worms up.
  22. If she is drinking I'd try the chicken broth too, you can make it very weak and watery to start with and once she is accepting it make it more meaty. Nutrigel, as others have suggested, is also good. She may have a very inflamed or damaged digestive system at this point, poor bub. hanks for all the advice, so far the BBQ chicken is being taken in very small quantities, but its a start, I got a couple of cans of puppy food from the vet for sick babies, i have watered it down and syringed some down her. I am popping a bit of nutri gel in and will try the scrambled egg, it can't hurt. She is drinking, so I will try the broth, Now I think she has a bit of constipation, which I am surprised at as i thought she would have been the opposite. Don't give her too many foods just yet, she needs small meals often but not too much variety, her tummy may well not cope. She may not be constipated, simply may not have anything to pass just yet.
  23. Photo of dog with owners toddler doesn't look scary at all. From other reports it sounds like dog who was used to riding on owners quad bike and playing with kids got over excited by squealing kids riding around in trailer towed by bike.
  24. Definitely not! Looks like you may need to have them looked after at home.
