  1. I watched at least 2 shows where she advised that a dog should be euthanaised... a few years back now, but I recall one had fear issues, and the other had dog aggression issues. Both animals were fine in their own homes with people they knew, but couldn't be taken out for a walk due to their issues. Seriously, if a bloody dog doesn't feel comfortable going out and socialising, then don't make it have to do so... there are ways to exercise and mentally stimulate a dog in the safety of a familiar environment... *sheesh* T.
  2. Sure it would hurt like hell... but she ain't getting any sympathy from me for putting herself in that situation. As a self professed elite dog trainer, she really should have had at least an inkling that shit could go to hell in a handbasket in a noisy confined space with strange people around. And it could have been a whole lot worse... T.
  3. I can fully understand resting the dogs, and not making them available for pats by all and sundry all day long... but the owners could make a bit of an effort to engage with the public sometimes. Sitting with backs to the crowd and pointedly ignoring everyone can be a bit offputting, and I heard a few people commenting on "snobby show dog people"... at least Boss's owner was happy to engage with the public, and if Boss looked like he was up for it, bringing him forward for interaction... T.
  4. I'm sure that Inky (she was the tiniest one, yes?) will pick up the slack in the adventurous stakes... wasn't she the first to start exploring and snuggling up to Uncle Puck? T.
  5. I had a pat and cuddle of Boss on Saturday... I must say he is a gorgeous boy... and his owner was more than happy to allow interaction and to talk about him with anyone who stopped to chat. The owner of the dog that beat him wasn't as accommodating I found... I actually was a bit disappointed about that, as he was also a stunning dog... I've always found that the Royal can be a bit hit or miss with both exhibitors and juudging... a bit like the Melbourne Cup, where literally any horse in the race could come up and win... lol! T.
  6. Hahaha! Love the modified pool shot... there's an available exit, but pup has to climb over the edge... lol! Need to watch that one methinks... going to be an adventurer... hehe! T.
  7. She posts on her popular blog that she's been bitten during a cocked up training session...and keeps going on about how much it hurts and how she's got to take painkillers, etc... then wonders why people are having a go at her stupidity. Surely this is not the first and only time she's ever been bitten by a dog? Funnily enough,if this had happened with a pet dog she'd been asked to come help sort out, she'd be advising euthanasia... I've seen her show once or twice, and her attitude seems to be that if she can't sort whatever the issue is, then the dog in question should be put down... *sigh* T.
  8. Granny Widget has her work cut out for her... lol! Think positive Kirislin... you have done a great job with them so far, and Master FB is just going off to finishing school. T.
  9. Yes because intensively raised chickens and kibble are so natural. ...no worries, sometimes she also gets natural, fresh hunted and definitely cotton wool free rat liver... I hope she gets wormed regularly... ewww! T.
  10. What a champion boy! That's my Pudden... T.
  11. Awww... my eyes are leaking a bit now... Way to go Andy!!! T.

  14. I missed you Stressy... if you saw a crazy person asking for birthday kisses from any dog the owners would let me pat... that was me... lol! I got kisses from a couple of Labs, some pugs, a dobermann, and the sweetest Airedale I've ever met. I also petted a couple of Westies... one big boy was especially gorgeous... *sigh* Huge thanks to the couple who owned the stunning black pug that you allowed me to hold and cuddle, I think his name was Demon? He gave great cuddle and awesome kisses! I must say that I did cheat a bit and told people it was my birthday, so I could get cuddles and kisses... *grin*... it WAS my birthday, so I wasn't fibbing... I'm going again today... T.
  15. That last shot is to die for! How gorgeous and healthy they all look... stunning! T.
  16. After doing a TAFE prac on Thursday where I had to worm a huge bearded dragon, I'll never complain about medicating dogs again... lol! Seriously though, I have fun with one of my pet foxes who really isn't fussed on being handled - devising ways to sneak worming stuff into food I can get him to take by hand has been fun... we have decided that fresh human grade chicken mince is the trick at the moment (and I'm a lot less likely to be bitten). It's even more fun to dose the numerous foxes at the rescue, as quite a few are housed in huge pens with up to 5 foxes in them, and there will always be one or two who shun human contact and you have to find where they are hiding and try to make sure they get their dose without the others in the enclosure snaffling it... *grin*... I've managed to work out each shy fox's fave treat foods now, and so medication days tend to fall when I'm working there to ensure everyone gets dosed properly. I'm so lucky that my dogs are complete pigs and are happy to be medicated by whatever method I see fit... hehe! T.
  17. I saw that too... and agree with your sentiments Powerlegs... T.
  18. Pickles does the coolest crazy dog spastic legs manic barking thing... freaks most people out... lol! She gets on her hind legs and waves her uncoordinated front legs all over the place... while barking in her best completely nuts/crazy bark. Scares even people who know she's not likely to try to bite. She's the most effective guard dog ever! She is also a master at the art of stopping dead in front of you when you are trying to walk around the house... super trip-up power! T.
  19. If you had the shot in your teens, you would have had the full adult dosage... Tetanus is not a series of shots like with Hep B or Rabies... The smart move is definitely to make sure you don't get any other sort of infection in the wound, as that could lead to nasty things like cellulitis or septacaemia, which are not fun at all! T.
  20. One of my sparring bitches was a Rotti/Pitbull cross - and she got well beat up by the Labrador/Dingo cross. We had 4 fights in 2 years, and each escalated to worse than the last. After the 4th fight and a large vet bill, the decision was made to never let them run together again... smartest decision of my life, as the older girl lived to be nearly 16 - instead of the 9-10 she would have been if the Lab went her again. T.
  21. I'm pretty certain that you are unlikely to have contracted tetanus in the situation you describe... I've been known to let my dogs lick my wounds with no adverse effects - in fact my old girl (now deceased) appeared to have miraculous healing properties in her saliva, even though she had a copraphagic habit... errr! T.
  22. Two of mine were fine for 4 years... then all hell broke loose and they had to be permanently separated. The older of the two has since passed, but my youngest is not allowed to run with the other two because she's a pushy bitch. The 10 year old and the 5 year old are currently getting on just fine, but I can see the occasional push from the younger one - luckily the older one doesn't actually see her as a decent threat to the status quo, or we'd have fun juggling 3 dogs that needed separation... errr! My next dog is going to definitely be male... no more females together in this household after this lot shuffle off - simply not worth the bloody hassle! T.
  23. So they say... wonder if the replacement(s) will be able to do any better job of it... T.
