last night he went to bed at almost 1am cause it was so hot (but he was asleep on the lounge with me from about 10pm) .... it was his first night home too so we just played it by ear .... Usually though the older dog goes to bed (his crate) when we go to bed ... but again he will sleep on the lounge or on his mat during the evening if he wants to .... We'd love to leave the aircon on but its actually illegal to leave it on overnight - I live in inner suburbs so the houses are quite close together - aircon has to go off at 10pm and not on again till 7am the following morning (like pool filters) - so fans work for us after that time

Mine for the day - I forgot to do one yesterday so you can have 2 today and I'm hoping considing the topic of my photos you'll grant me some leniency This is Archibald (Archie) our new puppy ..... he is a beautiful little GSP that we picked up from his breeder in Sydney today .... Archie will be my first show dog too so it will be a very steep learning curve for me ... I'd like to add a small extension to the not picking up after their dogs if I may to include - allowing your in-heat female to toilet in the grass strip right outside the entry to the Obedience fields where there is a trial or training going on over the same weekend ...... there is plenty of room away from the fields and commonly used areas to toilet dogs - why bring them there?

these photos are amazing I'm loving the eye shots especially - mainly cause I studied Iridology as part of my Herbal Medicine course so I love looking at iris markings and colourings etc

Jan 17th - the nose knows Jan 18th - playing with exposure and histograms - and an insight into the owners of this house - a cook and a gamer

I must say I like the white bodies with the dyed ears combo

1 GSP (2nd one arrives this week) ... backyard is about 10m x 8m.... Dogs are inside with us when we are home, go to training 3x a week, off lead beach and park are within 10 minutes drive of home and are visited several times a week ...

oh wow - she loves you! you can see it in her eyes! your girl may not be a brain surgeon (who is?) but she is pure joy and that works for me

I missed meeting you all this evening - thanks for the SMS Poocow - I made it across the bridge eventually but I missed the Fields and the GSP's and a few others in the ring .... I did get to watch a little bit before I had to head back home to feed the animals but not as much as I wanted to and I didn't want to walk around peeking into gazebo's calling out DOL names to strangers .... but I'm aiming to make the show training on Tuesday night (but likely to be without a dog and just watching to begin with I think) ......

tlc - naaa his eyes aren't green at all - I'm playing with colour saturation levels at the moment on Lightroom - I wanted a kind of 80's style heavy colour, darkness to the photo - so I just kept playing with levels till I got this .... I'm enjoying playing around on Lightroom changing little things around .... oh and yes that nifty-50 is getting a workout! i love love LOVE that little lense!

My Week 2 shot and next week I get to start the countdown with the new puppy cause he arrives on the 22nd Jan :laugh: so excited - shall be so much fun tracking his growth and changes each week for the next year!

Lovely shot but I think its actually a conifer, looks very similar to the one in the front yard down the road ....

Morty was mistaken once when he was about 4 months old by someone who knew everything there was to know about dogs (just ask her she'll tell you ) that he was a Cattle Dogx cause only cattle dogs can have ticked coats ..... I tried for nearly 10 minutes of a discussion to convince her that there were other breed with ticked coats, that GSP's were a real breed and not made up and that Morty was in fact a GSP but she wasn't having a bar of it ... she walked away with a "nice talking to you but you really need to accept the fact he's a x breed and not some fancy made up breed" ... poor Morty :D
