  1. same colour and style for me but bigger and substitute a GSP for the Beagle ;) although Morty goes through nice padded bedding way too quickly (he likes to nest before sleeping which results in hole in pillows) so he has several old blankets in the bottom of his crate bought a 2nd one for the impending new puppy too....
  2. Guess its my turn .... these are the first attempts at using the 1.8 - took them about 1hr ago so complete artificial lighting in the loungeroom .... So some of the ornaments on my Christmas Tree
  3. I have one and I have a shorthaired dog (GSP) and its amazing how much hair I can still get off him when I use it .... obviously don't need to use it as often as if he was a long or medium coated breed but its been great
  4. That's not because she is Mort's grandmother, is it?? I suspect that is a biased opinion, similar to my own. Yeah ok a slight amount of bias there but she is such an awesome girl - you can't help but love her!
  5. Great photos Le .... I especially love the shot of Rabbit
  6. Oh my goodness! That just makes me laugh! I'd probably lose him in my house It looks like you are having a ball with him! I was thinking the same thing TerraNik .... compared to my 32kg GSP (who was 11kgs at 11 weeks ), 850g is soooo teenie - heck my cat weighs 4.5kgs .... He looks like a lovely little man and a lucky boy to have such a loving home .....
  7. I'm in .... got myself a new 50mm 1.8 lens for Christmas from Santa .... need to give it a workout I think .....
  8. Thanks goodness your little one is ok ...... do you know how the others from the litter are doing?
  9. Isn't there a DOL-er that has a couple of these - I'm thinking maybe in SA and they are on a rural property?
  10. Definitely appointments for us - otherwise it would be a Plan B clinic for me - kind of like when you can't get into see your regular GP so go to the Medical Center down the road and wait and wait until there is gap .... I don't have the time to sit in a waiting room waiting for a gap, I much prefer to make a time and stick to it (emergencies excepted of course)
  11. What a beautiful little family there! .... wonderful photos
  12. we were taught it as an end to heeling - so with the dog in heel position when you go to stop say "stand" - elongate the "an" section so its like "staaaaaaannnnnnd" and hand across right to left in front of the eyes - the move the hand down the side of the dog and hold against the curve of the upper leg - this stops them from sitting .... then as they get to know it you shorten the "stand" command and can start minimizing the hand movement - we now just do a quick flick in front of the eyes right to left and/or word cue and he gets both
  13. One from today's Christmas Party at Obedience school

  15. well there is a really easy answer to that then!
  16. keep 'em coming .. afterall everyone knows that a GSP puppy is the cutest puppy ever! edited to add: OMG he is stunning!
  17. dawwwww she is bootiful (got any more?)
  18. RC also make a Large Breed Puppy & Junior food - we swapped our boy over from Euc after the first packet he came home from the breeders with was finished as we believe it is a better food - he's been on RC since and loves it ... we do dry with other food - veggies, raw chicken frames & other bones, yoghurt, whole eggs, sardines etc - a mix of a few things here and there to keep it interesting ....
  19. Morty runs to the back door and looks back over his shoulder - if you didn't notice him doing it he runs to wherever you are, stares at you and then runs to the back door - if you still don't get it he will resort to whining ..... he came up with this by himself
  20. Adamstown Vet is great - we've seen Paul & Simon there both are lovely and really great will talk you through everything - we had a big discussion around which vaccination to use earlier this year and they really helped and gave pretty unbiased advice which we really appreciated (plus they do titre testing there) ..... Hamilton Vet clinic is also good - we go there for our cat (and previously before we moved to Adamstown for Mort) - can recommend both really
  21. I have a special order that no-one else seems to be able to fill - but I'm sure you can PF I want a GSP shaped head but on a Bulldog body but with hair that's in a proper show poodle cut (that never needs clipping - you can do that right? jeanetics and all that jazz) oh and I want the different bits and bots of hair on each leg and bum to be different colours - all shades of green and yellow - that way he will match both the outside grass and go with the carpet inside .... Oh and I want him small enough that I can carry in one of those baby-bjorn carriers ...... I also expect him to be fully trained and have farts smelling of roses oh and a noice long tail - a big fluffy one So - that ok for Christmas?
  22. Hi Fiona, it depends on the intended application. Provided the use is not for the base of a crate when Morty is locked inside, then I suggest either a size 4 or a size 5, depending on what you want to spend. Well we don't close him into a crate at all - his K9 is for sleeping in and we leave the front unzippered throughout the night - he just stays there ..... its for the backroom (sunroom) where he has a tramp bed and access to the backyard - just to give him a cool option to lie on as the air con won't be installed in that room when the rest of the house is being done in a few weeks time .... So a 4 or 5 would work for that?
  23. hey Dyzney - what size cool mat would I be needing for the Morty monsta do you think?
