A reminder to myself that I need to remove this once a day to participate in this challenge -
from about 10-13mths was difficult ... it felt like everything we had taught him disappeared from his brain .... his recall went to pot and his behaviour on obedience field looked like he should have been in beginners class .... but we just put him back on lead, went back to basics, didn't let him off lead in public places until his recall came back and just gave him a break from class ... came good at 13mths and has been powering along since ...

I think I read it in a Judy Bloom book once or maybe it was in Dolly or Cleo sorry couldn't resist

There are still corded Poodles shown here in the states. They are gorgeous! there's a corded poodle that runs at our dog beach (the white one below - he has a full body clip with the cords on his head (like dreadlocks) and his tail

Flax seed oil should be in a health food store - usually stored in the fridge or a cool area in the shop

Well its best felt wrapped around your neck - it's one of those short faux fur scarf/neck warmers ..... I love the colour and the texture -
thanks Bec .... I'll be there on the 19th then with Morty (although at 32kgs I don't think lil is possibly the word I'd use to describe him ) I'll be there on the weekend of the show, from memory my partner and I have volunteered for Stewarding duty on the Obedience side of things (its a huge show that weekend) for the Friday and Saturday night .... if you can let me know the showing schedule (in particular Gundogs - and Toy's of course so I can come and say hi) then I'll arrange to head over the bridge for that time Thanks everyone

Mine for the day - I just liked the texture -
Arvos are best for me too! Ive done alittle stacking work but that about it...show training will be back on soon...wonder if its on this week! ahhh so that was my first question .... when/where is show training on? - I won't have the little one home until end of January (at the moment his name is still undecided) so do I just bring along another dog to use until he is old enough to come to training? I have Morty at home, he's 18mths old and occasionally has moments of maturity...... and um show leads? where do they come from?

Good grief I honestly cannot believe that I'm about to post this but ..... I'm pretty sure I'm going to give showing a go this year.... ;) I have a new little GSP coming in a few weeks (squeeeeee! ) and his breeder has asked if I would like to show him as a puppy ..... I never ever thought I would consider showing a dog but I'm really starting to get a bit interested (Rugerfly has a lot to answer for on this front! ) So I'm alost 100% certain I'm going to give it a go - I mean surely the fact that he will be an adorable puppy should mean everyone is watching him rather than what a fool I'm going to make of myself at the other end of the lead surely? So I'll be showing at Hillsborough mainly I think .... maybe if there is another show close by I might try there but definitely giving Hillsborough a go - he will be 3mths at the end of Feb so it will be after then .... Now I have to come along and see exactly whats involved cause I seriously have almost no idea what I'm supposed to be doing so I've sent an email back to his breeder with a bucket load of questions! H ......... E .......... L .............P..............

thanks tlc and Pandii - my favourite is the 2nd shot as well - it was a 2 person effort as the OH was required to block some light coming in at a wrong angle for the metalic parts of the label .... oh and yup - 50mm 1.8 lense for these ones - I'm loving this lense the more I use it -
I took the camera along last night for the fireworks on the harbour .... its a lot harder photographing fireworks than I originally thought but I was reasonably happy with these attempts especially considering I didn't have a tripod with me this one turned out a tad apocalyptic

Morty starts when he hears the cars pull up ..... as I'm walking to the front door I can here him doing the wooo woooo wooo thing from inside ... then he is quiet until I get to the sunroom when he starts the hot-shoe-shuffle and wiggle dance which sometimes if he is really excited has a couple of short barks involved as well ..... more often than not it involves a toy in his mouth.... then he gets let outside for a toilet break and as soon as thats done then he's back inside with a toy in his mouth ...... when the OH gets home (more often than now he is the 2nd one home in the evening) the cycle begins again..... he's fine when we leave, no issues at all, no whining nothing .. he just gets so excited when we get home its hilarious!
