Thank you so much for giving her those last special days when she knew how much she was loved. I am sure she will stay close and watch over you for giving so much to her. Oh that is hearbreaking! The poor horse and her poor owner! I can't believe how sick some people are! I wonder sometimes whether the media makes it worse by publicising so much of the abuse that happens. I think some of these losers get their ideas from what they read about other people doing. Or they do it in the hope there will be a news story about them. Whatever the reason they are sick! RIP Cachet!

I live in St Clair, not really that far from where it happened. It was actually very close to the fenced dog park. I will have to see if I can find out what happened. From what I saw on the TV the people were pretty badly injured. :cool:

Oh that breaks my heart! The poor elephants! Elephants are one of my favourite creatures, they are amazing animals. I can't bear to think of how the rest of the herd will be grieving over this loss. It is just devastating!

Oh dear Cas, I am so sorry to hear about Jake. You must be devastated. He looked like such a beautiful gentle boy. RIP Jake!

I didn't know there was a shortage of the vaccine, but I know you have to wait six months after the vaccine and have the dog tested before you can export them, or they have to be in quarantine in the UK for six months. The family who adopted a cocker spaniel that I rescued from Blacktown Pound are moving back to Scotland and they are taking the cocker with them, which I am delighted about, but also concerned because she is 13 years old and I am worried about how she will cope with the flight. Anyway, they didn't know about the rabies vaccination/quarantine until I told them. They have now decided that the wife will go in November with their baby (who is about 6 weeks old), the husband will fly over for Christmas with the extended family (whilst a friend house sits and looks after the dog), then he will fly back to Australia and stay here until everything is cleared for the dog to leave for the UK. I am so delighted that they are so committed to taking her with them. It is pretty tough regulations though, and the fact that there is no rabies vaccine here makes it even worse! Now I am worried about how these people will go. I told them to see the vet ASAP about the vaccination, but I haven't heard how they went.

The poor girl! Thank goodness the people in the office saw it happen and were able to rescue her! She could have been killed trying to chase her owner or find her way home. She is much better off without such a loser of an owner and she will soon have the home she deserves! Hopefully her owner will get what he deserves too!

Poor Keats, he looked like a gorgeous boy. Hugs to you and your husband at this sad loss. RIP beautiful boy Keats!

Oh how sad! I have tears in my eyes for the poor sweet girl. At least she didn't die at the pound. She knew love and tenderness and got to feel grass under her feet again. She got to be happy even if only for a short time and I am sure that meant everything to her. Thank you for saving her and being there for her when she really needed someone. I am sure she was at peace knowing that she was loved and that someone would truly mourn her passing instead of her just being another statistic at the pound. What a special girl she was! RIP beautiful Gabrielle, you are with the angels now, no more pain, fly free!

Oh Julie, I am so sorry to read this! The poor little fellow and your poor son, and his poor expectant family! How very sad! You can beat yourself up over it, or just try to let it go and realise that accidents happen. Feel the sadness sure, but know that your baby is safe at rainbowbridge and there was really nothing you could have done to change it.

Jed, I only just saw the photos of your house! It brought tears to my eyes to think of how horrific it was for you and your beautiful dogs. You are one very blessed lady to have survived that!! You are obviously still here for a reason!! Keep getting better Jed! My family and I are thinking of you every day!!

Jed, I am thinking of you and praying for you every day. It is so great to hear that so many of your grafts are healing so well. I hope the other ones start to heal as they should too. I am absolutely delighted to hear that you have kept little Phoenix. It was one of the things I asked earlier in the thread when homes were mentioned for the boxer puppies, was one being kept for you. I am sure Phoenix will be a very special little girl. Good work! I think it's a great idea. The one at St Clair is fenced and it is excellent. Why Penrith Council only fenced that one is beyond me! I hope they do it!

Oh Jed, I have been dreading the tribute to Magnus and knowing that it would come eventually, when you were ready. We held such hope that Magnus had just been his usual self and run away. I had only just sent the media release out to the national media asking everyone to keep an eye out for Magnus when word came that he had been found. :D The pain was unbearable for me, so I can't even begin to imagine how it is for you. I still cry when I think about that beautiful brave boy and how special he was to you. I know that he is watching over you, and I am sure that you will feel his presence. He was a very special boy, a one in a million, and his spirit will live forever.

You realise that you will no longer be able to be anonymous on here or keep to yourself now Jed, you are probably the most well-known DOLer of them all! I hope you continue to improve in leaps and bounds and you are home with your dogs before you know it!

Welcome back Jed! I am so happy to see you back on here!! You have been in my thoughts constantly and I am just so thrilled to see you are well enough to be online! Your posts have made me cry all over again at your terrible loss. Jed, my heart breaks for you, for what you have lost and for what you are going through. I cannot imagine your pain, I only know how devastated I was to hear of your loss. Be patient Jed, and give yourself time to heal. Knowing you I can imagine you are going to start getting frustrated and wanting to do more than you are allowed, but just let yourself have the time you need to heal your body, mind and spirit. We will all be here for you, whatever you need.

I know I already said it in the bird thread, but I really am so sorry Peibe! :D They are amazing little birds and I am sure your home must be very quiet without her! ;)
