Ah yup, I've seen these before, which is what I had in mind when I said in my previous post about having the right trainer I love her videos and she inspires me that it could be possible with an ES, but not until I actually learn more about what I'm doing myself If I can't get the best out a Lab that is easy to motivate to work, what hope do I have with an ES ;)

You are going to have loads of dogs soon, you keep saying you're going to get such and such breed This coming from someone who said no more puppies for them for ages I'd love an ES but yes I want a competition dog as well as a breed I would love to live with, so the ES has to wait until I just want a big doofy lap dog ;) (big and doofy is meant in the most adored sense, of course! ) With the right trainer, I think an ES could do great things, but I'm not that trainer ;)

Oh my gawwwwd I wish English Setters were more "drivey", I'd seriously consider one as my next dog over the Aussie. An ES is soooo going to be my "when I'm retired or win lotto" dog, as the laid back ES adults will be great then but would bore me a little at the moment! I like full on dogs, like the Labs ;)

Uh oh, do I wanna watch? Yes It's not a breed you would have I could you tube up Aussie pups though or Tollers Naww cute puppy, I do like the breed, but you're right, not a breed I am likely to have. Aussie, Beagle or ES pups, though ;) Labrador pups do it for me the most :D :D Having Lab puppy cuddles in a couple of weeks! ;)

Great blog post A lot of what was said made me think of me, too Except I don't aim for top level in stuff, I just want to try a bit of everything (hmm except maybe DWD ;)) The only exception would be obedience, I would love to compete in top level in obedience one day Next year I am adding tracking to my list of sports ;) I am also requesting an 8th day of the week :D

I saw some Cockers at the agility nationals and it's the first time that Cockers caught my attention. They are cute little dogs

I might come down and watch I'll be your videographer if you need one! Are you baking and bringing the goon bag? ;) -
Sorry to hear this emery!! Hopefully Jacqi makes it back online sometime, I think she's fairly cluey on council stuff and may be able to help! I got bailed up by 2 aggressive dogs and bitten by one of them just walking up the street, on the opposite side of the road to where these vicious beasts were unattended in their front yard. Ranger only issued a warning It happened in my own street and I have to pass this house twice a day as it's on the way to the train station, and I have to tell you, my heart races each time I walk past this house. I have also seen these dogs outside unleashed on 2 other occasions. One time was when I was walking past again! The owner opened the front door, the 2 dogs raced out barking obviously heading in my direction (I was too scared to look!) and the woman luckily has good voice control over her dogs as she growled at them to come back. I am just disgraced that this woman knows her dogs are aggressive (dog warning sign on her letterbox and also having bitten me) but still insists on letting them outside. I want that woman to be fined severely so she'll think twice about being so irresponsible and causing anxiety in innocent people having to walk past their house ;) Hope your cousin is ok! Poor thing, I really know how he must be feeling

I hope you're going to enter to suppor the Obedience! We don't want to lose this one as well!!!

'Tis the problem when you have multiple dogs that you want to do classes with Tuesdays at ACWA is the only class I do and I really want to put Millie back in classes, but don't want to forego Ruby's classes either. I need two of me!

Interesting the feet on brick exercise for backend awareness. I started Stands with Strauss yesterday and every time I went to stand in front of him he started moving his back end towards me - hmm houston I think I have created a problem Kind of similar problem here, I can't stand in front of my girls and ask them to rotate facing me because they are intent on rotating their backend anti-clockwise to get back to heel position and move with me ;)

Have you been doing your homework Not a whole lot, you? ;)

Well, as a hint, I will be up your way (least I think it's your way) at the northern suburbs training grounds in Carine this Sunday morning :D Not sure Ruby is the best representation of the breed either, but hey, she's pretty

You've taken plenty of photos of my girls, Rach! Or do they need to be "show" dogs? Where did you end up finding a job, Rach? I assume this is a new job?

Great videos!!! Love his weavers and contacts! And there is nothing wrong with being a dog nerd :D

Thanks Sheena, I will have a read!!

I'd be interested in seeing this DVD, or just knowing more about the method. If a dog is taught to stop with all 4 feet on the ground past the contact, would it not also encourage some dogs to still jump the contact zone to land on the ground down the bottom? I'm still undecided how to properly teach the contact for the A-Frame for both my dogs.

I'm saddened by the KK thing. We don't have them in Perth but my eastern states holiday treat is always a KK (and a Starbucks caramel frappuccino mmm!! Don't have them here either!) What will I do on my holidays now? :nahnah: To keep this semi-on topic I trained Ruby with 2x2 (though not entirely, we never started with open poles), and now I have started Millie on them and so far she's only up to the 2 poles at a slight angle. I enjoy this method

Heres My Dogs- Boxer And Sibe
RubyStar replied to boxagirl's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
What do you do for work? My week sounds almost as crazy as yours! Monday obedience, Tuesday agility, Thursday agility, and Saturday next year I have been talked into starting tracking, too :D Plus trialling on most weekends, especially next year when I start trialling in agility as well as obedience. Somewhere in there I have to do more retrieving training and apparently attend Zumba on Wednesday nights or Rusky won't let me hear the end of it -
Ditto :D

I don't take toys with me to the river. If the dogs leave them, I don't want to go in and get them and I don't want to lose them either! So they stay at home :D The only time I take toys is to the beach, I take their Kong Wubbas that float, so if they don't retrieve it, I can go in and get it myself But Millie is my new keen water retriever, who woulda thunk it - not me!! This dog hates water

That's no good about the fires Hope you aren't too close, emery! I have been going for the past 4 weeks, its sooo much fun... Is it a big turnout? I am worried... I am so uncoordinated!!
