  1. GR - how long til puppy now?!?! Weird dream last night, I dreamt I was also getting one of those puppies from your litter, GR No idea how or why that happened when a Goldie is not on my list But he was full of spunk, I remember that! And I was having a bugger of a time trying to think of a name. Think I went with Rocco in the end
  2. Housemate hunt vent When you advertise for a fulltime worker in their 20's or 30's to rent a room off you, and you get an enquiry from a 16 year old stay at home MOTHER, you really do feel like cracking open the vodka I've said it before and I will say it again - give me boisterous puppies over screaming babies anyday!!!
  3. I think you need to hire a snake whisperer, too! I would be keeping as far away as possible while the bobcat man does his thing! Cuuuuuuuute puupy, GR!!! Puppy breath
  4. My tiler/s did an ok job, but had no objections to coming out and fixing stuff I wasn't happy with. I actually wouldn't really recommend them....
  5. So where were you then today, Rusky
  6. Cute little baby, mirawee!! Congrats Mas and Mason, very well done!! Snaaaaaaaake!!! :p 'Nuff said!!
  7. Not yet. Think I need to invest in a straight jacket for myself first for torturing myself with this obedience thing
  8. Sorry for the shirt bombardment, but I love this one! So much of it applies to regular obedience, too My favourite is "Bonus: Jump on Judge" :p In case you can't read them all, they say: Suddenly Pull Right - Halt, Sniff Ground - Halt (if you feel like it) - Chase Tail - Bonus Jump on Judge - Drag Owner Behind You - Find Treats - Call Front, Bark at Owner
  9. I have more! I wanna replace the word Rally-O with just Obedience :p "Pedigree indicates what a dog should be, conformation indicates what a dog appears to be, performance indicates what a dog is really made of."
  10. I opt with profanity - I have a word that pairs very nicely with the f in front No amount of using it though when asking for a front fixes the problem, I wonder why
  11. I need one of those t-shirts that say 'smack the handler, pat the dog' or whatever it is ;) Yep I definitely need one that reads something like "Blame the handler!" Or "She can do it at training!" This one is funny
  12. I tried Spotlight and couldn't find anything! I thought ebay would be good but can only find people selling large rolls of the stuff
  13. I need to write on a sticky note and stick it on my steering wheel as I drive to training or a trial for a reminder - "MAKE IT FUN FOR THE DOG (and don't be a tightass with the treats)".
  14. Ditto. I got to the death part and went Wouldn't be signing that myself. The rest sounded reasonable, though. Being cheaper initially should be for the breeders "unrestricted access" to this dog for stud duties and for the co-owner housing and feeding this dog while the breeder retains the rights to breed from it if they so wish. Not every accident is due to negligence of the owner. Sometimes, sh*t happens, that is life. Painful for the owner, then a double whammy that they have to cough up money back to the breeder because a freak accident occurred. If you can prove it's by negligence or the owner mistreating the dog, you might have a case, but accidents quite frankly do just happen whether you're the most diligent owner or not.
  15. Aaaand I hate days when you feel everything is just wrong Leaves me feeling sad and frustrated, and then I get madder at myself for allowing myself to feel that way and wonder why I keep at it Today was one of those days. The positive though, Ruby did her 3 minute sit/5 minute down out of sight stays (and a group stand for exam, though the examination wasn't very thorough at my request). Here's hoping for a good session next time to pick me up again and show me why I keep perservering. Being a perfectionist and not being able to deliver on that is a horrible feeling!
  16. WOW well done! You and your dogs are on FIRE!!!!! Multi-talented, I'm in awe Well done Candice and Mason! Second place, awesome!! Well done AD with your agility stars and congrats SG and Bronte on your first CCD pass! Whoops, knew I'd forget someone! Well done Sally and Ness on your Open win
  17. Nope, Ruby has not outgrown her disgusting habit of having a dessert of chocolate pudding after her dinner. No amount of growling at her makes her stop, but she does know it's wrong because she won't go near it if I am out there supervising and the second I turn my back, she sneakily dashes off! It's no longer hers she eats, it's Millie's (and Ruby is definitely not the dominant one of the two!!) I pick up as soon as Millie has been, but sometimes she does it in a dark corner and there is no way I am trudging out there and stepping on it instead of picking it up. Anyway, to give more details, it wasn't that she had eaten it, but for the 3rd or 4th time THIS WEEK she has come in with poo on her HEAD!!! I have no freakin idea what she is doing. She is either sticking her head under Millie's bottom as she goes, or rolling on it (in a very funny angle!) after it's on the ground. Watching her to see what happens won't help as she won't go near it when I am looking. Have to somehow spy on her. I'm truly baffled, and definitely grossed out! Sorry for so much detail Rach, are you sure you still love Ruby after reading this? :p This poo habit is just the one and only thing about her that I would love to change, apart from that, she's pretty close to perfect in my eyes
  18. Ruby just got in trouble for doing something that makes me wanna and the thing is I have no idea how she is doing it! I won't give details but let's just say I will now be supervising her toilet breaks at night for a while because she's doing some magical tricks that make my head spin! Anyway, I growled at her, and she slumped down into bed looking all sad. I went into the lounge room where Millie was and sat down with her to give her a cuddle and her tail is thumping loudly on the wood floor. Ruby hears this so sheepishly comes into the lounge room and sits right next to me, looking at me with these deep soulful "sorry" eyes and I could only hold out less than 10 seconds before emotion totally overcame me and I gave her a cuddle She knows how to work me with those puppy dog eyes! Can't stay mad at her for long :D
  19. The 19th will be painfully tiring so I think I need my rest on the 18th The Royal is only 2 weeks away so is that too short notice to get enough people to be free? Just realised that over the next 7 weeks, 5 weekends of those I have trials There was an obedience drought around June/July/August and now there is obedience overload!
  20. Come down to K9 this weekend, my girls would love some shots working :D
