  1. I started on some out of sight stays with the girls tonight, quite proud of how they went! I made a boo boo of pushing Ruby too far, but she gave me quite a lengthy out of sight sit stay that I have hope that entering Open will actually be a possibilty for us (once we get that last Novice pass!) Millie even impressed me with coping with me not being there She had some nice big doggies next to her (we were practicing with some Shepherd's). And Ruby's box is coming along, she can be sent from almost the full distance now
  2. Holy cow, I need you to teach my girls a 2o2o please!! I know all about not working on the right too, especially with Millie! She keeps telling me off for not letting her gravitate back to the spot she knows too well (on my left) ;) I've been teaching Ruby to weave, not going too badly! Kinda got her weaving 4 poles but I am trying to break it down so she gets more confidence and speed before I introduce any more
  3. Daisy is looking good I still have a soft spot for Beagles, even though she was woofing at you (too cute )
  4. So I was on the right track, I had the blunt ends with the rubber bits in the little mesh pockets at the top, but the poles are extending waaaaaaaaaaay past the fabric on the other end to get the pins anywhere near the end of the poles! ;) Thanks a lot, I look forward to the help! ;)
  5. Yep I made it to the retrieving trial yesterday Met some very lovely people and saw/learnt lots so I'm glad I went! I'm now going to make an effort to go to the June long weekend trial with Ruby - spectating of course!! Weekend away of camping, should be fun!! Lots to learn I didn't think lure coursing is allowed in WA?
  6. I like the starting times of these trials, sleepin still available - YES!!!!!!!
  7. Which means I think I was originally right. Sat at K9, Sun at GSDA. Sheesh, talk about confusing!!!
  8. Whoops, I'm mistaken. Still 2 obedience trials, but got the locations and days mixed up. From dogswest.com: Events At Other Locations GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG ASSOCIATION OF WA Passmore St, Southern River Saturday 23rd May 2010 Obedience Trial Vetting Time: 12.45-1.15pm Judging Time: 1.30pm Enquires: Sue Beisley 9417 7927 Events at the Canine Centre Saturday 22nd May 2010 WEST COAST ROTTWEILER CLUB Obedience Trial Vetting Time: 9.30-9.45am Judging Time: 10.30am Enquires: 0404 187 135 Edit: Wait a minute, both on Saturday?!?!?!?!?! Edit again: ok one must be on Sunday, as they have the date ok but the day wrong!
  9. I'm pretty sure there is obedience both Sat and Sun.... I could very easily be wrong, but I remember there being a huge obedience drought and then 2 on the same weekend! Sat is at K9, Sun is at GSDA, from memory....
  10. Woohoo, go Deb!! Ptolomy, you're entered both day this weekend, yes? (or no?)
  11. Yes, the "Making Reinforcement Fun" DVD on Clean Run
  12. You could always come down sans dog and help me put up that blasted RV Shade
  13. I thought it was just Staffords that roo-roo . Nope :p Unless Millie is part Stafford
  14. They'd be the world's worst retrieving dog if that were the case But yes I agree, Whippets could easily outrun a Lab (unless your name is Millie and there is an i-squeak involved in the chase )
  15. Tiggy, love the "roo-roo to you too" under your avatar. Millie roo-roo's to me as well It's cute until the roo-roo turns into woofing at me for attention
  16. Too far away out there in the sticks . I've got agility training tonight. Ahem, I think it's YOU who is out in the sticks!! :p Ness, will you be here by tonight?
  17. ;) Glad I could provide some amusement It does have zipped up side flaps, maybe I will try your suggestion next for extra "give"
  18. Wow Rockingham . No wonder RubyStar is nigel no friends at training now ;) . ;) Anyone wanna come train with me tonight? ;)
  19. The whippet needs to meet my Millie then, she would give it a run for it's money
  20. Maybe we can set it up Thursday night and I can leave it up reserving my spot for Saturday :D I used to be in the Brownies! So I'm no good at this kinda stuff. I did get my story writing and cooking badges though
  21. Happy Birthday, Bitty!!! Just love the photos!! What a gorgeous pair you have
  22. I set mine up with the blue side facing upwards so I could slide the poles in easier, do you think silver side up would somehow allow the poles to bend and stretch more? I think I need a phd in shade assembly to get this thing up!!
  23. I didn't hook the black clips on yet, so unfortunately that won't help :D They are on display so I can go in and have a look and ask for advice, I just hope I can find the time to do it before next weekend! It's probably not worth putting it up for a single trial but I want to give it a test run soon, as I am possibly going away for a long weekend in June for retrieving where camping is involved so thought it would be handy to have up and instead of a tent, I can just sleep in the back of my car
  24. Back in your hole! Thanks! Ummm not sure what time Saturday's starts, morning I believe so probably 8-8.30am I will be trying to assemble? Will you be around then? Sunday I think it at the GSDA grounds. I've never been there before so no idea if a shade is required there.
  25. I'm sure it's possible. I wouldn't let it put you off, people rave about them so they must be good! Once you figure out how to assemble it that is! I googled in case anyone else got stuck at this step and I can't find ANY forums anywhere discussing the assembly, so it looks like I'm the one and only dingbat who can't assemble it :D
