  1. The vet sedated Rini and moved the Kong back and forward a bit until it came off, I tried this but poor Rini was yelping and crying so I didn't want to hurt her. If this didn't work it would have to be cut off.
  2. Late this afternoon Rini our foster kelpie got hold of Smoochies Kong and this is what happened. The Kong was stuck on Rini's jaw so a trip to the vet to have it removed, it was on too tight and I couldn't remove. It was lucky that Rini was inside when this happened and not out in the dog run. If she had been our there we would not have seen it until possibly too late and the circulation cut off in her jaw. After this incident I would never leave a dog with a Kong unsupervised. In the pic Rini is not too concerned about the whole thing. She is such a good girl.
  3. DMA- When and where tomorrow are you presenting the petition, do you want some support, if daughter feels well enough we could come if you need the support. We didn't get back from the hospital until 4.30 and she was still quite a bit zonked out lol, she has only just woke up properly.
  4. There will be also other meetings for this Cessnock 2020 program. Alas we've missed most of them, but after the Kurri meeting, there's two more: 6pm Wednesday 17 March 2010: Mulbring Community Hall, Stone Street, Mulbring 6pm Thursday 18 March 2010: Millfield Community Hall, Crawford Avenue, Millfield bump
  5. My condolences to you and your family.
  6. DMA - Everythingsshiny started the one on facebook. Did you recognize Rini's pic.?
  7. I can understand peoples concerns about this, the industrial area is very very close to residential areas.
  8. I use Permoxin on the dogs, also keeps fleas at bay as well.
  9. RSPCA have a lot to answer for in this case, this poor Koala has lived all its life with Nancy and to have its life ended like this away from its mum. Nancy and Colin have looked after the Koala's like they would their own children. So sad. RIP poor little
  10. Excellent job as always DMA
  11. Yes good Dog should have bitten harder.
  12. Is it possible to locate the ant next and than pour some Nucidol into the next, that will kill all the ants. I had some ant nests outside our gate and this got rid of them.
  13. I use permoxin, it will kill fleas as well, also keeps the flies at bay.
  14. When Smooch had a spinal stroke, he had to be confined for quite sometime, so as he was quite excitable when left behind I would take him with me everywhere I went, my daughter would go shopping with me and one of us would go do our shopping while the other stayed in the car with Smooch, than the other would go do what needed to be done. He was to have been kept on low sedition but I wasn't happy doing that. I guess I had the luxury of being able to be with Smooch 24/7.
  15. Try your local fire brigade, ours came out here a few years ago and moved a brown snake that was at my door into my shed. they had all the snake catching gear.
  16. I have had fencing contractor here for a couple of days putting up a new dog proof fence so the dogs when let out for a run have plenty of room to play in dam and all. There is also a new fence going up around the dog runs, where they have room to move about in when not out in the larger paddock. They had to spend most of the day locked in the runs and with 4 dogs locked in two runs conditions were a bit cramped, couldn't do much about it as Smooch got trampled by one of my cows and I thought his back was broken as he couldn't move his back legs. As Smooch had a spinal stroke a couple of years ago and was paralyzed from the shoulders back for a couple of months I probably panached and rushed him to the vet. By the time I got smooch to the vet he was standing up but a bit unsteady. The injuries were not as bad as I thought, he has cuts to his back leg, he is on antibiotics and should be fine in a few days.
