  1. Smoochie sleeps with me, on or in bed. If he gets too hot he will get down on the floor next to the bed. But mostly on the bed and has to be touching me. He must think I willl run away from him LOL. In winter he snuggles up to my back to keep it warm, if I roll over he goes round the other side and snuggles to my back.
  2. It can still be fleas. Smoochie has been scratching for several days now, couldn't find a flea on him, than tonight I spotted one on his back, so got out the Permoxin gave him a spray and now a couple of hours later he isn't scratching. My vet once told me that even with all the flea treatments you can still get a flea and with some dogs it only takes one. With Smoochie it only takes one flea to start him off scratching.
  3. I normally get out vet to come out, get cows preg tested, horses checked and all dogs vaccinated. So basically one consult fee and the rest according to what has been done.
  4. The only time our dogs leave our property (20acres) is to go to the vet. We have about 2 acres done in with chicken wire, have sports oval next door so they get to see plenty of people and activities. When we take them down to the other paddocks they do not attempt to go through the barb wire fence, but unfortunately we do have a problem with other peoples dogs entering our place from the oval which is NOT a leash free area but people take no notice of that. There fore we don't let our dogs into this area unattended.
  5. think I will go for a walk with my blanky on. Love all the pics of these pampered pooches.
  6. Lounge made up for Smooch when he had a spinal stroke. Quite comfy in my recliner chair mum.
  7. You could try Pet Stock. They ordered turkey necks for me which I pick up on Monday. So they might also have the turkey frames. http://www.petstock.com.au/
  8. When you said coal I thought you were talking about real coal. The stuff they use for BBQ I think have some type of lighter fluid added to them as they light up as soon as you put a match to them, real coal doesn't.
  9. Thanks all, I finally found a supply in Newcastle, I ordered 30ks and hopefully they will have them in on Thursday.
  10. Come 5pm, Smooch asks for his dinner, I warm up his food in the microwave (all home cooked meals, won't eat dog food lol), give him half a turkey neck and his food. He jumps onto the lounge eats the turkey neck than half his meal, when we finish eating he checks for left overs and than finishes off his meal. He must have his turkey neck first, without it he won't touch his dinner. During the day if he wants a treat he will bark and run to the pantry and will continue this until you get up and get him the treat he wants, not any treat will do, it has to be the one he wants.
  11. I am looking for a supplier of turkey necks in the Hunter Valley. Woolworths no longer stock them. Been in touch with Steggles and they do not stock them as well. I am starting to get desperate. Smooch loves his turkey necks and I only have enough to last him two weeks. I had used chicken necks previously but he would just swallow them so not too keen on using them again. Does anyone know where I can get some?
  12. Not really sure but might be the charcoal content they are after.
  13. I have Smooch with me when doing our paper run doing approx 40kph at best. I had to swerve to avoid being T boned. IF I didn't have Smooch restrained by the seat belt he would have ended up on top of me when I swerved and I would have most likely lost control of the car. This all happened 1k from home. We do about 30k on our paper run all of it within a 5K radius from home. So if you are only going half a klm from home you still really need to buckle up your dog.
  14. Actually the law in NSW is that the dog cannot be in the driver's lap or prevent them from having proper control of the car. Its Rule 297. It is not the law that the dog must be restrained in the car. The police officer that pulled me up said they had to be restrained in the car, it was only a couple of months ago that I was pulled up and no Smooch wasn't able to get to me, he was in the passenger seat. I can only go on what the police told me.
  15. Poor dog and owner. It is law in NSW to have your dog restrained in the car. I have been pulled up for having Smooch on the front seat but as he had his safety belts on it was all good.
