  1. thanks everyone for your suggestions. Yes Perse, I've wondered about that too. I'll be seeing her tomorrow, although I suspect if it is mastitis she'll have seen the vet by then so we'll know for sure and will have a course of treatment.
  2. with a bit of luck he's learnt that it's not a good idea after yesterdays incident......but that's unlikely isn't it. (Mr Rolly eyes) When my whippets were puppies Penny pushed Kibah through an already cracked window. There was the sound of breaking glass and I was expecting at any moment for Kibah to start spurting blood everwhere but she escaped without a single cut. She was only about 3 months old at the time, so tiny and fragile. We were incredibly lucky she was unhurt.
  3. she's a little dynamo, seems to run rings around the "doofus" boys. That's what their Dad calls them.
  4. you crazy boy Scout! Glad he's OK, and Koda too.
  5. My friend with the iggy bitch and 3 week old pups said she might be developing mastits in her unused teats, the 2 front ones. He said she isn't sore and they're not hot yet but he's noticed they've become lumpier. She is already on ABs as of yesterday for an unrelated infection. Is there anything else he should be doing for her? I've heard of cabbage leaves but not sure how they're used. I've heard raw, cooked and frozen now from different sources, so of course I come to good old DOL for information I can rely on.
  6. Sunday morning Play time! Those sleepy boys wont stand a chance against the black fiend and a couple more.
  7. Just dont forget to take the lure like I did yesterday at our whippet fun day! I hope it's a great success for you.
  8. Their poor owner might be regretting ever letting me get involved. Last night he told me Widge was a bit off colour yesterday, so he took her to the vet and she's got a slight infection which is being treated with AB's. He said that she picked up almost immediately and now seems back to normal. But me being me, my eyes pinged open at about 4.45am this morning and I started worrying that she'd been misdiagnosed. I feared eclampsia so I emailed and then rang him at 5am to ask him to check on her. I know Sunday mornings are sacred to most normal people so he would have been perfectly within his rights to tell me to bugger off, but he's lovely and he'd already checked on her and she is fine. I hope he got back to sleep.
  9. 3 weeks today. :D I think some are still waiting for that perfect home. PM me if you want the breeders details.
  10. They had their first taste of meat today. I think they like it! :D
  11. I'd go if it wasn't on the other side of the country. I hope it's a great success. Please post photos of the day. We love seeing photos.
  12. I've got a good example of my whippets recall but I cannot load the video, I've been trying for the last hour but it keeps failing. Anyway, it's instant.
  13. what a good update. good on you for taking action and fixing it.
  14. They're funny to watch, everything is in slow motion with them right now, like that ad on TV where the guy imitates having a bingle in a car, that's how the puppies are.

  17. Yes, note to self, take something sharp and pointy for next visit. They got their first worming yesterday. Pity someone wasn't on hand to get shots of that. They looked like sad clowns with the slop all around their mouths.

  19. Yep, that's what I thought too, they needed an I dont know button, I would've used it most of all.
  20. Here's a few from today. The puppies are big and fat and sleepy, I was hoping to get more with their eyes open but all they seemed to do was eat and sleep with the occasional drunken slo mo stagger about. here's the lovely Widget 5F6A7370dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr That's baby girls tail curled up on Widges face. 5F6A7374dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr Boy 2 I think 5F6A7375dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A7395dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A7396dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A7401dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr a bit of gentle cannibalism on his bro. 5F6A7408dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr

  24. Just over 2 weeks actually. they were born Sat 3rd. It goes fast doesn't it. I'm looking forward to seeing them tomorrow.
  25. push button windows are a danger with dogs. Mine used to do that sometimes too in the Mazda. They cant in my new car. How lucky that dog was that you were his guardian angel.
