  1. Now that their eyes have opened things start really happening. Looks like the boys are snoozing but little girl is keen to explore her world.
  2. Has anyone got a little blue (grey) whippet on a chair staring back at you?
  3. this is supposed to be sad, why am I laughing.
  4. sorry I started to do it but bailed out when I really couldn't relate to the questions about the white fluffy dog. I think if there was an I dont know button that's the one I would have pushed most.
  5. I'm sorry, I was so wrapped up in my own post I neglected to read yours.
  6. Eyeses :D eyes! by kirislin, on Flickr
  7. We've got eyeses! This pic just came by email. eyes! by kirislin, on Flickr
  8. The break down in communication might have grave consequences for Bruno, I'm sorry. I hope it's brought to their attention although I'm sure you have Brunos treatment to worry about for now.
  9. My 2 oldest whippets raced and stayed sound the whole time they raced. Both are Grand Racing Champions and Penny was fastest pedigree bitch for 2 years running, so I suppose the lack of dew claws didn't set them back. The whippet standard does not require them to be removed, it's a choice breeders make, but not necessary to show them.
  10. actually it did cross my mind that the bird looked like he was trying to mate with the injured one. That explains it. Oh well, still an interesting pictorial.
  11. seems like front dew claws are more of a problem in pet dogs than working dogs. In some pets they seem to be forgotten and become overgrown and painful, or cause injuries to people from jumping up on them. If there was a constant risk to all dogs then working and racing dogs would also have them routinely removed, but that isn't the case. I know if I ever bred another litter this is something I'd be agonising over, to remove or not to remove.
  12. good memory! My little Kibahs eye healed perfectly as Andrew Turner said it would. :D I'm so glad I kept a photographic record of it cause for a while there it was looking pretty ugly. I hope Joeys eye is improving too.
  13. it's really sad. My link
  14. Ugh, our beloved pets and their eyes. I'm so glad you've got a specialist who has Joeys best interests at heart. Best of luck with it.
  15. Monteba, thanks for updating "my" litter, but it's not really mine, although you cannot be blamed for thinking it is, it's a Mellick litter (Roskyle bitch) and they're Italian Greyhounds not whippets.
  16. What an interesting photo of a fascinating dog, and I love her name. She's not the first Beryl dog I've heard of, I wouldn't think there'd be alot.
  17. Sounds to me like you need an IGGY of your own. You know, I might be able to help you there. :D
  18. my dogs sleep inside at night but frequently go out the dog door for toilet. With 5 dogs I usually hear the door go at least 5 times a night. I'm glad I dont have to get up everytime to escort them out there in case of koalas.
  19. It's amazing to witness those moments isn't it. Penny was a spinner and screamer and I had to watch her with chewing the cord too. On one she got so carried away I feared she's accidentally chew legs off or even a hole in his belly. I had to gently intervene.
  20. Just had word that boy 1s eyes are starting to open! but I wont be down to see them just for that. I'll still have to wait till Tuesday.
  21. That's like saying would it come down to the one who had it's whisker's trimmed. There would be something to separate the two before it became so nit picky I dont like seeing trimmed whiskers on whippet or horses either. I'm a bit of an au naturale girl.
  22. I wonder if 2 very similar dogs were in the show ring and all it came down to was that one had dew claws, would it lose because of them?
