 Kirty we think there's a fair chance she'll have lots of little seals or perhaps some golds but my money is on all seals because that's what dad is as well.

it's her first.

that's all I meant by it. Actually though, it's not really true, although she looks a bit sheepish in the photos, she's really blooming. Her appetite is good and she's really happy, waggy tailed, smoochy, pregnancy becomes her. I'm so excited about these puppies. I'm like a kid at Christmas. I keep checking my emails to see if he's contacted me with an update.

Best Bones For Keeping Teeth Healthy?
Kirislin replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
I've love to be able to get turkey necks. I got them a few times in Dandenong but I'm hardly ever over that way. I mostly get lamb ribs, but I have to go to the butcher on the right day or I miss out. -

awww I just meant cause now she's got a big watermelon belly and pretty soon she'll be popping out babies.

What are the odds? Finding an albino bat in your trousers or winning tattslotto?

Widget herself was a huge singleton, but we know there's more than one giant in there cause we listened to several heartbeats yesterday. 5 would be considered a large litter by IG standards, but we're wondering if she might even have 6 although I think I could only find 4 heartbeats, not sure though. I suppose all will be revealed very soon.

I wonder wildlife he had and what he was doing with it. I'm glad he wasn't my neighbour.
-
actually this one's an Italian greyhound so even smaller again. They usually have around 3-4 pups, but we think she's got more in there, she's put on 2.5kgs so far, with a week to go.

This thread's gone off on a bit of a tangent on a subject that probably deserves its own thread. I have a beloved neice who is struggling with PND. I'm wondering about the dog who needs to be groomed though, what's happened about it?
-
She's not mine, but I'll probably be down to see them I'm sure.
-
The earliest she's due is on Aug 3rd but we wonder if she might go a day or so early. I hope not, we dont want them underdone, but it would appear there's alot in there.

and Cattle dogs are very popular now in the US.

I'm so glad I asked this question, I'm loving seeing the racing line photos. I'm surprised more people dont want them as pets because (to me) they look much more wolfy and primitive than the show lines of Siberian huskies. I would really love the opportunity to photograph the races sometime, but they're always a long way from where I live and I'm a bit tied down to just day trips because of my dogs.

I hope the paralysed dog recieved immediate veterinary attention.

this is so sad. I hope you get to see her soon and have the chance to get some details so you can keep in touch. I've become friends with an old man from the park. We met when Penny was a puppy and she's 14 now. My elderly friend is now 92 but when he was a bit younger we used to go gold panning together, we even camped out for 2 nights about 1 1/2years ago. I take him to hospital or doctors when he needs to go and I look after his dog when he's in hospital. He's had an amazing life with so many adventures, I love listening to his stories, and he's got a memory like an elephant! It's an unlikely friendship I suppose, and it never would have happened if not for walking our dogs at the local off leash park. I know that he wont be around for all that much longer, and I will miss him terribly when he's gone, but I have to tell myself the good's outweighed the bad. It's the price of friendship isn't it, whether it be human or animal.

I've always thought Siberian huskies were handsome striking looking dogs, but I love the racing lines then!

How Do We Go About Changing Perception?
Kirislin replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
But they should be and they are, if purchased from a registered breeder who breeds for type, temperament , structure and soundness. The "pedigree dog" is the superior product. If it weren't there would be no dedicated registered breeders who believe in the dogs they produce. I agree with you for the most... but that kind of "attitude" displayed by those with pedigeed dogs can also be a put off for the average person... T. Agree. Even if it"s correct, people who have had and loved cross bred dogs will see that attitude as snobby and it will turn them off purebreds. Maybe I haven't explained it properly. What I mean is that some people, the one who comes to mind is the woman I mentioned previously with the rambunctious Golden Retriever, walks around as if she and her dog are superior to all the rest of us because her dogs parents were shown. She almost seems to think its balls are worth listing on the stock market. My dogs are all pedigrees too. Feathers father won the 2000 whippet champ show under Phil Moran-Healy but apart from mentioning it here to try to make my point, I dont go bragging about it because I dont see that is it anything to brag about. -
How Do We Go About Changing Perception?
Kirislin replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think sometimes it's a form of snobbery. Some pet people who buy pedigree dogs think that their dogs are better than non peds, and often the people who buy non peds also think, I only want a pet, only people who are "up themselves" buy pedigrees.
