  1. all those dogs look alert and interested to me. That's what I would find almost impossible.
  2. that crossed my mind too, I'd have to get them sleeping.
  3. How embarrassing, but not so surprising with me I always say what a dummy I am with computers. I just copied the info that it shows as an image of what does  OK here are my results.
  4. I couldn't sleep last night so was channel surfing and happened upon a news story on the ABC. I didn't watch much because it was so distressing, but just the few images I saw, I cannot erase from my mind. From the little I saw I gather there's an illegal dog trade in Thailand and a group called Soi Dogs that are trying to help the dogs. I wont go into anymore details but I've looked them up. If you're feeling benevolent, and have a strong stomach you may want to look into it. If I was going to will my estate to a charity when I die, this organisation could be worth considering.
  5. so I'm now paying for something everyone gets for free?!?!
  6. I got a shock, it's totally changed!
  7. Yay to her appearing to have turned the corner. I can understand your concern, I'd be tearing my hair out by now, and having the vet be so dismissive........ I have to say your girl looks absolutely beautiful. I've never met a Shiba Inu but I've seen a couple in real life and they're fascinating, they look like tiny little dingoes to me.
  8. Some scary stories, and some yukky ones too  We were both fine, just got a fright more than anything.
  9. At the fun days I like to get head ons of the whippets coming towards me, but it isn't without risk. Here's what happened yesterday IMG_4736dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr IMG_4737dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr Splat! IMG_4738dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr
  10. We've got a fun day planned for Saturday 22nd June 11am, and will be down 2 committee members. We therefore request that everyone brings their own lunch and drinks as we'll be too shorthanded to do our usual barbeque. But the lure will be there! And some important reminders. It will most likely be chilly so remember to keep your whippets warm before and after they've run. Make sure they're sufficently warmed up before hand, you wont see Usain Bolt running with cold muscles and neither should your whippet. Walk them and or trot them and rub their muscles to get the blood moving before they run. Nails need to be trimmed too and of course if you suspect your whippet is sore anywhere it shouldn't run at all. Clean up after your whippet, if you've forgotten to bring poo bags I've got some in my car, just ask for them. I'll be the one with the camera. You are allowed to walk your whippet on lead around the entire complex, but need to stay off the cricket oval itself. that's all I can think of for now, if you have any questions email us. Hope to see you there on 22nd.
  11. Now that's a serious sledding dog! Are you in NZ or Australia? I got the impression you were going to events here in Aus.
  12. anyone live close enough to go and have a look? Take a camera too.
  13. While I dont support puppy farming, it certainly doesn't look like the horror story puppy farms I've heard about and seen previous photos of.
  14. I will feel happier when you see him do a big poo.......if you haven't already since he's been off colour.
  15. See that is what was worrying me - because his tummy felt really hard to me. I haven't seen him poop since yesterday but he did go in and out quite a bit last night and when I followed him, he just ate grass. So he could have but I can't find any in the yard since the poop patrol yesterday. The vet said his tummy feels fine and it is making all the right noises - so I am convinced I am just a worrier when it comes to my dogs. Our vet and I often joke about me adding to my shares up there or what his next extension will be  Zig seems fine, a bit clingy but then he is a big sook. Vehs, D's drooling could very well be bug bites in the mouth. Zig is a bit of a dribbler if there are good food smells around but nothing like I saw last night - I should have taken a photo of it. Long strands of thick saliva with bubbles in it. I dont think you were a worrier over nothing. You are observant, you know what's normal for your dog and you noticed he wasn't right. From your description he definitely wasn't well. Dribbling might have been from nausea. Anyway, hopefully his tummy has settled now and he'll be fine.
  16. You did the right thing getting him checked. I'd been wondering if he had a blockage, is he pooing normally?
  17. That's fine. It has worked on all mine to a point where you say it's just an unbelievable product in what it has done for mine. :) I wish it had worked for mine. Perhaps I'll give it another go, I've still got lots left.
  18. Only just seen this. I hope you both got some rest and sleep overnight. How's the boy this morning?
  19. I bought plaque off because as my dogs are aging I'm finding they are starting to get plaque when they never had it before. I found the plaque off was a waste of money, I fed it for about 3 months and saw no difference at all.
