With mine I have to pay $77 which I'd thought was a one off fee, but it's actually every year, on top of the individual dog regos. The ranger came out, took photos of my dogs, the chickens managed to get on the photos too, she photographed my fences and driveway and surrounds.

I want to see photos of your Iggy!! -
That's how I think they should be. Fair enough to be charged the initial application fee because they do an inspection, but then I think it should just be continuous, not paid annually as is the case here.
-
Yes, that's how it is here. I was always worried about that too but it has to be a valid complaint, such as noise, smell or inadequate fencing allowing the dogs to roam I think.
-
Yes, same here. I think it's a rip off. I think the permit should be for the life of the dogs at least, with a disclaimer that if there's valid complaints it can be withdrawn.

It's $77 per year here on top of their actual regos.

Yep cardboard boxes are good too. You might be able to get a washing machine one, or an oven or fridge box. One thing I'd worry a bit about if Gnarla wears a coat is that the pups could get caught in it. They might strangle if they got hooked in the straps.

With our council it is called an excess animal permit and it is an annual fee just like the dog registrations. How much is it?
-
When you apply for a multiple dog permit do you have to renew it every year or two?

thanks Rebanne, Yep, I made an actual igloo with a roof and tunnel I had to crawl along to check on the pups. I was so warm in there.

Central West "facebook" Sheep Killer Caught And Charged!
Kirislin replied to LisaCC's topic in In The News
I'm very glad he was stupid enough to brag about it on facebook and get caught. -
I'm talking about 11 years ago now, but when I put the tiny weaned whippet puppies outside, they had a heated whelping box enclosed in a hay bale igloo. I wish I had a camera back then because it was very effective. It had a tunnel just like a proper igloo. It would be blowing a gale outside with rain pelting in sideways, and I'd worry about them so go out in the middle of the night to check on them and they were all warm and cosy with the temp about 22C while outside it was down around 3C

what a sad story and good on you for rescuing her and the puppies. I hope the ex-owner is tracked down and prosecuted for cruelty and neglect and slugged for costs of saving her and the puppies, as well as fines for (probably) unregistered dogs and abandoning them. I hope she can recover and find a loving responsible home for the rest of her days.

How Often Do You Have To Cut Your Dogs Nails?
Kirislin replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
Ah but see that would require speed to start with, something my basset hound is allergic to   Well, I did say active dogs. -

they often use them for sudden stops like this and look here at the fawn dogs right pastern, this is how they're mostly worn down, it's just that we dont see how they flex with the naked eye. Here's a good one show flexion where the dew claw comes into play. -
I love the leapies!! :D

How Often Do You Have To Cut Your Dogs Nails?
Kirislin replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
They probably do grow, but active dogs wear them down. Some people think dogs dont need dew claws and although I know they can tear them and it's dreadfully painful when they do, they still use them. -
I dont think she's really trained him to wee on the mans leg. She's trained him to stand beside the man and raise his leg, the rest is editing and sound effects, (trickling). Yes, sounds more like a tap running  Is it Flynn liftng his leg? I've seen one of her girls do the trick and thought it didn't look like Flynn but that could just be my eyes playing tricks on me? The dog humping is Jinx, Flynn had a stand in  aha! I thought it might not be Flynn. The close up you see of the dog (Flynn I think) where just the dogs head and his paw on the man are visible, and he's supposedly humping, is I think, again just editing, that dog isn't humping, he's just standing on his hind legs and is being wobbled to make it look like he's humping.

Interesting Read About Vets And Infectious Diseases
Kirislin replied to tdierikx's topic in In The News
A horse vet I used to use certainly wasn't very conscious about this kind of thing. A few years ago he misdiagnosed a horse of mine and attributed the chest infection he got to my horse. Only thing is it didn't occur to him to warn me as well. Luckily for him he was wrong anyway. -
How Often Do You Have To Cut Your Dogs Nails?
Kirislin replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
It depends how active your dogs are. With my old long departed whippets Kiri and Iris, I rarely needed to cut their nails because they and I were alot more active. I used to take them out riding with me and their nails wore down naturally. As the whippets I have now are aging I need to cut them more often, the girls probably once a month and the boys maybe every 2 months. Penny's always had lovely small fine nails that wear to a point, they're like little prickles whereas Kibahs and Feathers are naturally thicker too. -

that's about the same way I feel. I'd bet in their literature on safety they dont recommend having a dog (or child) in the front seat because of the air bags, plus, it's illegal. The dog is amazing though, very well trained.

Post it on a photography forum and see what people there think it might be. Perhaps someone's seen something similar.

I think you should blow it up and put it on the wall.
