Seeking Opinions, Which Do You Prefer?
Kirislin replied to Kirislin's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I think of the altered ones, I like this the best. But then I'd have even more of an ethical problem because someone else altered it for me! -

I think I am imagining the line because I looked at the untouched originals and I can see a line down the middle of them too! -

Seeking Opinions, Which Do You Prefer?
Kirislin replied to Kirislin's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Thanks Huga. Maybe I'm zeroing in on it because I know where it is. It's interesting, you've done the same as me. Marion took the individual black dog on the right in the first pic and placed it into the second pic, so that's yet another option. Now I'm really torn as to what to do since you're saying people manipulate photos like this all the time. I didn't know that, but I see the winner of the last comp has done it. -

You've got me thinking now, so I've just done a simple stitch, taking the right side of one and the left of the other. Still dont think I could use it in a comp though. hmmmmmmmmm, I can see the line. dunes madness stitch by kirislin, on Flickr -

someone said the first photo looks like music, and I know what she means. If I had to give it a name I'd call it Whippet Symphony. I wonder what the tune would sound like if you made each dog a note. -
Seeking Opinions, Which Do You Prefer?
Kirislin replied to Kirislin's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
You're welcome to have a play around with it, but I want to enter in it a competition and although I've discovered there's nothing to say I cannot manipulate it or combine images, and a previous winner did just that, I dont think I'd feel right using it like that. As far as just a photo though, no harm. Marion's already done one and it looked amazing. -

What about if I tidy them up a bit by cropping? I had to loose the black dog on the left in the first one though 0200 HDR AEt by kirislin, on Flickr HDR AE 201t by kirislin, on Flickr -

Thanks, you're right I think, it's a bit more balanced too. Neither are cropped, I could probably improve the first by chopping off a bit on the right side but I just wanted to get a general idea from people. -

Risks Of Leaving Dog Coat On All Day?
Kirislin replied to MadWoofter's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'd be worried leaving a coat on mine unattended. Even when I'm home sometimes one of them gets their front leg through the neck hole! I'll be blowed if I can work out how they do it because the necks aren't loose and sometimes it's quite difficult to get their leg out again. -
sorry, I'm not clicking on a link. would you like to tell us what this is about?

Does Australia have bugs that burrow into dogs skin, because if we do, that's the first thing I thought of when I saw those lesions. It wouldn't surprise me given the conditions she was enduring before you came along and saved her.

What Is Your Dogs Favorite Treat?
Kirislin replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sonny & Stella are the same. OMG!!! Is that cheese mum's got?? Then they both start going through the tricks & obedience moves they know to see what they have to do to get it LOL This is Stan's cheese face. When I want him to look at me when I'm taking a photo...just say cheese :) Huh?! did you say Cheeeeeeeeeeese? -
I changed from photobucket because my pics looked softer too.

You've reminded me of something that happened at our park. It's a designated off leash dog park but one Saturday morning there was a big footy match and they had security bailing up anyone walking their dogs and said they couldn't walk around the top part of the grounds.
-
nasty. I had to pay for flickr pro because it allowed me to have more than 200 photos stored, not because I'm a professional photographer. I wonder if they'll refund my money now.

At our off lead park we're not allowed to let our dogs go onto the actual playing fields. If it was me, I would probably try to avoid confrontation in the situation you were in simply because I'd be worried they'd lobby council and all off lead areas would be withdrawn. I'm not saying dont use the area at all, if you're allowed to, just try not to clash with the footy bullies.

this thread reminds me to remember some of the great things that come about through DOL Well done to all of you who've been involved in the rescue of these dogs, and a special cheer to Iggy Mum for taking the initiative in the first place. -

 Like Joel Maddens' toothpick That's the least expression she shows... and I have almost 1000 photos of her... Should have used Trouble for the survey - she has the best blank stare ever! Here she is as a pup... T. Huh?
