7 Week Old Cane Corso At The Off Leash Park :(
Kirislin replied to RiverStar-Aura's topic in General Dog Discussion
Any idiot can own a dog, any kind of dog. -
Oh dear, I dont know if that's a compliment or not. I tried it again but it looses alot of the effect I like when I bring it back to take out the halo. 2638 HDR Ae.2 by kirislin, on Flickr

I agree, I mentioned this a couple of posts back too. I wonder if Troy will give us a separate heading/forum that we can then post individual threads in.
-
For me, yes just slightly - because there is a slight halo around the bike and the rider. Most people probably wouldn't notice, but I do this sort of processing a lot, so am used to searching for that halo. I noticed it too. Might go back for another tweak.

Maybe we need a whole new heading for critique so people dont post another photo before others have finished discussing the last one?
-
I'd like to know what people think of this. I'm new to HDR, and in fact any kind of stylised editing! I know that sometimes people tend to be heavy handed with editing at first. I like the shiny plasticky look this has, but is it overdone? 2638 HDR Ae by kirislin, on Flickr

that's exactly how it is for me too.
-
I like the warmth of the edited versions but they seem to lose definition and detail to me. Is there some way of keeping a bit more detail in it while still having the warm look?
-
I've just discovered you dont even have to have mulitiple photos! it does it with one!! :D HDR art stand sat reduc by kirislin, on Flickr same pic, closer to how it looked IRL Untitled by kirislin, on Flickr

Different Coloured Eye Reflections?
Kirislin replied to Sharna3's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have seen it, and I wonder why too. I used to see pics of a whippet (not mine) where she had what I call traffic light eyes, one reflected green and one red. -
Jessie Has Had Her Operation :)
Kirislin replied to JessLovesGreyhounds's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Is there any chance the greyhound racing board would contribute? Probably a very long shot, but it would be good PR for them. -
I must admit the first thing that popped into my head was husky saluki cross but it seems the general consenus is she's not. What are the behavioural issues, that might also be a clue to what breeds are in her.
-
she seemed very mature for 17. She must be devoted to Pudsey.
-
sure they weren't just very overexposed?
-
if they were fuzzy it was probably because they weren't all aligned. there's a little box you can tick to get the aligned. Not sure about the solid white though, did you put 3 photos in?
-
In a hurry again when I took this from the side of the road, no time to think about compostion and the cars where buzzing by. But it gives you an idea. This was a preset too. Untitled by kirislin, on Flickr

Yep, not large amounts cause it's quite salty, but I dont think little bits will hurt. I give it to mine sometimes.

Queanbeyan Pound Pup
Kirislin replied to bazilybazbaz's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
did he have surgery to correct his wonky legs? If not how did they come right, why were they bent in the first place, would it have been poor diet? He's a handsome little fella, what a wonderful transformation. -
Oh how I can relate

I remember when Ruthless herself was learning and she too loved the work of Charlotte Reeves and wanted to know how to take photos like her. So that should encourage you to pursue your dream because she's now been able to make a business out of it and now has people admiring her work (me being one of them) Good luck.

Whippet In Qbyn Pound
Kirislin replied to keetamouse's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
It's very sad, but for those with limited resources and space I suppose they have to draw the line somewhere. I'm making an assumption here because I am not involved in rescue. Sadly, we are seeing more and more pure whippets in pounds now and I suspect most of them are from puppy farms or BYB's since pedigree breeders usually (although not always) remove dew claws, and most of the whippets needing rescue have dew claws. But the people who do rescue whippets still try to save these ones, no matter where they've come from. She looks like a beautiful little girl though and I really hope she gets the perfect home soon. -
Love the first one with the flying fluffy ears  Now it might just be my eyes, but I found it hard to see definition in the creamy photos. It was all a bit one colour for me.

Aggression Between Desexed Females
Kirislin replied to Juddabug Whippets's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yep! I'm definitely the Alpha Bitch in this household  -
so you've got the 3 photos and down the bottom it says start HDR, click on it. then it chews away at the photos to do it's stuff, then comes up with the 3 pics merged and you can adjust manually or choose one of the presets.
-
I don't really like HDR  but will give it a go. Could you not just use "bracketing" or do the 3 exposures have to be wider apart? After all that and you dont like HDR  I think it is bracketing. You can set how different (light and dark) you want the 3 exposures to be. It has other stuff too, you can straighten your photos, I use that one alot and now also do composites, I haven't tried that yet.
