You cant be dumber than me. Have you read the manual to see how to set up your camera. Basically, you take 3 photos of the exact same thing (in RAW) at different exposures, like goldilocks, one under exposed, one over exposed, and one just right. then run inside and however you download your photos onto your computer. then bring up DPP and click on tools. You'll see the option for HDR and take it from there.
-
yep that's it :) Now you have to run outside before it gets too dark and take 3 photos in RAW

so is the Canada one easier to navigate than the Australian one? I wonder if it matters, it wanted to know what region I was in. What version are you downloading? what exactly are you downloading, it took me to the 5D mk3 page
-
when it comes up with the list, click on just the 7d body only. then it says near the top of the page download the latest drivers and software. I'm glad to see it wasn't only me who found it confusing.

I wrote back to her and said between $180-$250ish. Not sure why she wanted to know, if it was curiousity or was she going to donate towards the cost of a rescue.

How can we help: click downloads and drivers support and services comes up with find your product. Type in 7D It will come up with a page of downloads. On the right you have to select your computer and take it from there. Good luck, but if you really cant do it, ring them on 13 13 83, they were very helpful to me.

Whippet In Qbyn Pound
Kirislin replied to keetamouse's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
that's good to know, she has the sweetest face, I am sure she will be a brilliant pet, and fast too! I'm glad she's got a coat now so at least her stay at the pound wont be so cold. -
This lady does wonderful lino cuts and it occurred to me that I might not be the only one who'd enjoy seeing them. She does lots of dog breeds, as well as pigs, sheep, horses, bunnies, foxes, hares, and probably lots of other animals. Have a look http://www.etsy.com/shop/anniefitt?page=1

Ashleigh And Pudsey - Britains Got Talent 2012 Semi Final

I'm not a big fan of dancing dog acts but they're really great. I hope they win. -
someone on a US forum has asked me the rough price of neutering a male dog (whippet). I think it cost me around $180 each but I really cant remember, it was a fair while ago now. What's an average price these days?

Meet Reuben - New Foster Baby
Kirislin replied to tdierikx's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
How the hell can such a beautiful pup be in need of rescue, you've really got to wonder sometimes. He's magnificent, and who ever took the photos is really showing him off, well done. -
I dont need to see this.

I've definitely found that for the type of photos I take, I didn't need the IS. I could've saved my money.

Aggression Between Desexed Females
Kirislin replied to Juddabug Whippets's topic in General Dog Discussion
I've had issues with Kibah and Penny before that I've written about here. They've only had 2 serious fights but they were bad. I have no doubt if I'd taken Hugh Wirths advice and let them sort it out, I'd have a dead dog on my hands. I have to watch and manage it now, always. Mine aren't as matey as yours are, they generally avoid eye contact with each other. I wouldn't want it to happen again as Penny is now quite frail but she still thinks she's top dog. -
I think I've copied the page for you that I got up. It's Canon Australia. There was quite a bit to downloading it, quite a few steps. Oh and we're Oceania when it asks  http://www.canon.com.au/For-You/EOS-Digital-SLR-Cameras Look on the right hand side for downloads and drivers.
-
Hmmm even some of them are a bit heavy handed for me, blues too blue, greens too green.
-
3.11.26.0 they don't make it easy - having trouble finding it on the canon site I ended up ringing and the bloke talked me through it. go to the homepage, then call up the DSLRs and on the right hand side you'll see a column with "how can we help" underneath is a few options, one of them being downloads and drivers. That's what you want.
-
You're clever if you did the upgrade by yourself, I had to ring Canon and get the nice man to talk me through it.

You'd have to sell your 70-200 if you were going to buy the 70-300 or you'd be doubling up too much. I wonder if they make a 200-300, that would make more sense if you want something longer. I've sometimes wondered about the 100-400, perhaps that would've served me better than what I have. Dunno.......
-
You'd get more distortion if you were up close to the group and had the lens wide open. some people use it to good effect though too.

I just updated my DPP program and it now does HDR! :D The light was fading as I was quickly reading through my camera manual to work out how to do it so no thought was made as far as this photo, I just hurried out and plonked the camera on the nearest fence post, as I dont have a tripod  this is a preset effect too, but I think I could have alot of fun with this technique. I can also now do composite photos, probably lost of other stuff I haven't worked out yet. And it's free! and for all of you who hate it, sorry. 1st hdr by kirislin, on Flickr

 can you guess which one? :D It makes sense, then I'm covered from 17mm up to 200mm with a couple of primes thrown in for good measure. I just hope it's a sharp one, I hear some horror stories about Sigmas. fingers crossed it's a good one.
