  1. there certainly doesn't seem to be a shortage of food at the shelter, the dogs are very fat!
  2. Is it possible to let her know some of us couldn't answer the questions because they just didn't apply. My dogs are all really healthy even though they're all getting on in years. None are overweight, all have really clean teeth and have never needed a dental to clean them. I know she wasn't asking about teeth, I'm just mentioning it because I beleive dogs with a good diet generally have good teeth.
  3. I can't select any of the options. My dogs don't have access to food all day, they don't fuss to get food, affection is not demonstrated through treats, and they don't get table scraps. They get food as a routine and have to sit politely for it. Yep, that's the question that stumped me too. None applied. I feed my dogs proper food at meal times.
  4. Clipper and Hercules have the same head high running action, I wonder if there's something amiss with them. Great photos Meagan, you must be very happy with that beast, the 7D :D
  5. I had to stop when I got to the questions about what type of dog, the nibbler the gourmet etc, it was a stupid question and I couldn't fit my dogs into any of the catagories but I couldn't go on until I answered it.
  6. My friends whippet had a bleeding tail from over enthusiastic wagging and kept breaking it open. I told her to put some adhesive tape over it, fairly loosely over the actual injury and a little bit firmer on the wrap around to hold it on. I said just leave it on till it drops off of its own accord. The tail healed fine with no further problems. Look carefully here and you'll see how she taped it. a typical Lily moment by kirislin, on Flickr
  7. when you have the photo on your page right click on it and a number of options come up. it will say AF point. Yes reading the manual helps although I dont think it says much about DPP there, I mostly worked stuff out by playing with it. At the top of the page you'll see a help button, that is where you'll find out alot. I think it's a very good program for free but not many people use it.
  8. was she ever scanned for a microchip? She probably didn't have one, but you never know, perhaps someone had lost her. She had a short crappy life didn't she.
  9. Just had a look at the video, you have a great backyard for them. Has Misty gone back to your sister now or is she still with you?
  10. Do you think it was an impulse buy on your sisters part because the whippet was going cheap? Usually the purchase of a pet is actually the cheapest expense, you have years of ongoing care and comittment after that, and it costs alot. Perhaps if she isn't prepared to take proper care of her whippet she would be best to rehome it, and DONT EVER get another dog.
  11. some people really should not be allowed to own a dog, but how do you control that?
  12. can you post a picture of Misty so we can see her body condition?
  13. Have you just got them on a maintenance ration now? I suspect they'd just about be up to their normal weight, it might just be muscle that they need to build up now. I'm guessing though as I haven't seen them in the flesh but it's amazing how quickly you can put weight on a dog and the last thing you want is to now turn them into porkers.
  14. the link didn't work for me but I've been following them via Iggy rescue. Hopefully this will work http://www.iggyrescue.com.au/dusty--phoenixs-blog.html
  15. Poor little brave kitten. That's just bloody sick. I haven't read all the posts but will you report it to the police and RSPCA. I realise there's nothing they can do for Cookie but she might not be the only one, and if the numbers are mounting up perhaps they will. At least it will be on record. Awful to think that often young people who torture animals grow up to be violent with people. I'm also sorry that clearly the vets made the wrong call in their decision not to xray at the beginning. Cookie suffered and now so are you and your kids.
  16. I'm so sorry it wasn't diagnosed sooner, to save her the suffering and you the heartache. I hate to imagine how hard it will be to say goodbye now if it comes to that.
  17. damn, I was just about to put this one, especially if there's a black and white pup. what about Right Royal Kerfuffle  or just Royal Kerfuffle
  18. bugger!! this has come about a week too late for a friend of mine, she's already signed a lease elsewhere. I'm sure you'll rent it quickly though.
  19. Did you play with the sliders, the brightness, contrast, saturation, WB etc and try sharpening? There's lots you can do. You can check where your focus point was too, although I've found it often says the shot was in focus when clearly it wasn't
  20. I'm glad she doesn't appear to be suffering. I must have misinterpreted about the vet, easy to do.
  21. Poor little thing, I wonder why the vet keeps putting you off, it's kinda strange. I hope she isn't suffering.
