  1. These photos are real heart melters, all of them. In own experience I had a cat and then got whippets as puppies. They didn't chase her because I taught them it wasn't on. All those have now gone and my current crew of five whippets haven't grown up with cats and I feel certain they'd throttle them, even though I've taken a couple of whippets to a friends cattery and tried to teach them not to touch the cats I can see in their eyes first chance they got they'd have them by the throat, or where ever they could. I would dearly love another cat but I wont be happening as long as I have these whippets.
  2. what a great opportunity. those corellas are funny aren't they. Did you post some pics of them a few months ago, I recall seeing pics of corellas squabbling a while back, very funny. I have to ask, are those reflections real, the black swan and the bird in flight?
  3. Whatever post processing you've done to this I really like it
  4. Thanks everyone. Yep whippets can jump pretty high if they want. I know of people who've deliberately crossed whippets and kelpies purely to breed a high jump dog for comps. Feather is almost 9 years old and still very fast. She would have been a good racer but when I raced her at Tooradin on the round sand track, she split the webbing in her feet so I had to stop. She only had a short career but was looking promising. Her racing name was "The Blue Flyer" She's probably the fastest of all my whippets now, she can certainly run the big goofy boys down. Penny used to be the quickest but she's almost 12 and although very fit and healthy I suspect she's slowed quite a bit.
  5. Woweeeeee there's some amazing photos here. NO WAY could I have taken that huntsman pic, I just got shivers typing this. Ugghhhh!
  6. I'll start a separate thread. We've got the go ahead for one last whippet fun day on the grass track on Saturday March 19th starting 11am. We dont usually have a meeting in March but because the grass will be torn up we decided to squeeze one more in. The track truly is unique and for photographers to have the access we allow to get action shots, it's not something many get the chance to do, I am sure Clicking Mad and Evolving can vouch for it. Just be aware you lay down in front of 55kpm missiles at your own risk. but it's worth having a few muddy footprints down you back when you get great action shots. We'd love it if you would share some of your shots on our photobucket site but you dont have to.
  7. If you're after a DSLR $600 wont go far. Some point and shoots might not have that shutter lag but I dont know. Can you save a bit more, otherwise look to second hand. Maybe even a DOLer might be upgrading and want to sell a good DSLR.
  8. You're most welcome CM, you took some truly brilliant shots with it. I've just come back from there walking my dogs. There were too many people at the park and I had all five dogs with me. I am very lucky to be able to use the track when I want.
  9. double post, dont know how I managed that
  10. thanks! You've got those jolly little clowns though, I can never get such cute shots of mine. Here's the little speed demon herself, Feather, all 9 kilos of her. All these pics were taken on our walk today, it's never boring watching a whippet in flight, I know Clicking Mad can vouch for that now too. She reminds me of a motobike cornering in these shots. see how her lips are pursed in this last pic? That's the face she pulls as she's closing in for the kill.
  11. Watch your landing Pucky, there's something sharp at the bottom! safer to stay up there. I warned you Her name might be Feather but she's not always soft.
  12. wow, that's fantastic that he survived all this time.
  13. I hope you can come again. I was thinking of suggesting we set the lure up the other way so they run down the track and into the sun, instead of us trying to photograph into the sun.
  14. They're all good, you seem to have a handle on it already, I love this shot
  15. OMG!! I've been going to so many meetings and you come along to one and your photos absolutely blitzed mine. How the bloody hell do you do it, I knew you'd be good at this your photos are amazing!!!!!!! I hope you come again. Looks like we might be able to squeeze another meeting in on March 19th I've spoken to the manager today and got the OK for it. Any chance of you coming back, you can bring your doggies if you want.
  16. ahh yes, talk about "eye" That's Ella, she's very intense.
  17. Hopefully this will work. http://s212.photobucket.com/albums/cc71/yv...mview=slideshow Sir WJ stepped in to help too, Patsy was stuck driving the lure so she ran Patsys beloved Black Jack for her. Beltars sweet little iggies.
  18. downloading onto photobucket now. I lied when I said I took 300 or so, it was more than double that!! Clicking Mad came along too and took lots of pics, I'm hoping she will post some as well.
  19. sorry, I'm still editing them. I'll try to get some on today.
