  1. That's a sad story. I look forward to seeing his tail up and him smiling, I bet he'd like to go for a swim, that would make him happy wouldn't it?
  2. I've looked at some tutorials on youtube and find the blokes who do them mumble in an American accent and dont clearly show what they're doing. They just zoom the cursor around and I cant see what they're clicking on anyway. It just made me feel even dumber so I am relieved to see others find the whole thing daunting. If there was a local course on it I'd jump at the chance. I dont even get layers. I know you're supposed to create separate layers for each action that you do but I've still not seen how you are supposed to merge them all into one.
  3. wow, that has a gruesome beauty about it, if such a thing is possible.
  4. I think I might ask Troy to delete this thread.
  5. well done MTD for taking the time to comment on everyones photos!!! Now that takes some doing.
  6. that's late for me, I'm a morning person.
  7. I've done it in Picasa as suggested by Persephone, but Bec and Huga do it in other programs I think.
  8. Kibahs cutey bottom showing all her seams where she has been put together.
  9. Yep it is. so keep an eye out next Thursday, Sandown races. Not sure what race but his name is Texem. Think positive thoughts for him to get around safely, and if it happens to be in first place so much the better. thanks for the comments everyone.
  10. Yep, me too, I was probably in the same place as you.

    Whippet

Some whippets are timid but some are just aloof and because their natural tail carriage is down and sometimes even between their legs, people who aren't familiar with the breed assume they are timid. They are generally sensitive dogs but not necessarily timid. I actually like it when they're aloof with people they dont know. My 2 little blue girls are like that, the others are a bit more outgoing.
  12. Oh dear, I hope it heals without any problems. You cant help things like that, you just reacted on instinct, and so did he.
  13. That's the little star in the making, my friends dog Texem. He ended up running second but he's just a baby and still learning. Usually dogs dont go into heat races when they are just starting out, so he's doing incredibly well already. His brother won almost $300,000 in prize money and was a finalist in the 2010 Greyhound of the year so if this little one is anything like his big bro they'll be very happy. So far the signs are good.
  14. I hope it's not still suffering.
  15. This is Texems race, I've had to crop these alot, I dont have a long enough lens. Coming from the boxes, he was mid field He's got the blue jacket, #4 then after a full circuit he's just in the lead with the 3 getting up on his inside and the 3 has got him. The winner is a more experienced dog though, this was only Texems second race and he's placed 2nd both times. He's now into the final next week.
  16. Yes, I thought he was pretty amazing, he looked like he was just going to keep heading skyward.
  17. My friends have a young dog just having his second race tonight but already showing great promise. In his very first race he ran second and went into the semi final which was run this evening. He ran second again so goes into the final next week. It's a great start for such a young dog, most of the others are more seasoned racers. Unfortunately I didn't get very good pics of his race, I did better with the first race. It was after I took them I got bailed up by security and I was a bit flustered after that. Here's some shots of the first race. Some dogs get quite alot of height. That's the real double suspension gallop for you. this is heavily cropped.
  18. I might have to colour it in with black texta.
  19. He looks very skinny, was he alone, I wonder if he's lost. Wonderful photos though. It might be worth mentioning to the wildlife people down there, in case he is sick.
  20. Hey Bec, did you get bailed up by security when you were taking photos? I've been plenty of times before with my camera and had no problems, but only once since I've had that bloody white lens and I got monstered by security tonight. I had to go to the office and speak to the CEO and convinced him I am not a professional photographer and only wanted to take pics of my friends dogs race. He let me but said I have to get permission every time from now on. I bet it wouldn't have happened if I didn't have the silly paparazzi lens.
  21. They probably are overdone but I like them anyway. When used more subtly it's very effective too.
  22. tlc has just been asking about HDR, if this isn't HDR it's something that gives a similar effect. You have some very interesting compositions too.
  23. I love it, I think Ash has done it or if not with 3 individual images then something similar with just one. The shot of her pointer in her siggy has it I think, that's the first time I saw it and I didn't know what it was about that image I loved, then about a year later I went back and read what she wrote and thought aaaaahh now I know.
