Oh OK, I have a pro account I just tried it and the original is HUGE. I'd get yelled at if I put that here, the dial up people would crucify me.
-
can someone just for interest sakes take this pic and sharpen it in another program?
-
so do you mean they somehow edit it in flickr? once it's been transferred to there? I dont know how to resize it, flickr must do it for me. I'm such a goose with this stuff it's a wonder I can manage to operate a washing machine or stove.
-
so sorry to hear this, I'd never have know if you hadn't posted about it in photos as I've never even looked in this thread before. Sending my best wishes to little Daisy.
-
Doh!! I hate the softness! For this pic I used one shot, if he was running I'd use AI servo and possibly mulitple shooting.
-
OK so this is the original, nothing at all done, straight out of camera. and this one I've sharpened in DPP twice, once from RAW and once using the jpeg thingy sorry I cant explain it, and then very slightly lightened using the curve.
-
I know nothing about resizing, I sharpen using DPP, the canon program that comes with the camera. As to the composition of the pic I took I have to admit putting absolutely no thought into it at all , I just wanted to try to get an in focus pic to use as an example of how I cannot get them as sharp as others.
-
thanks Ruth, but look at Wags 1/15 or am I reading it wrong? I'm gonna post the original of that pic and then some extra sharpened but only using DPP and see how they look. Just got to load them to flickr.

I just went out and took this a few minutes ago. I used live view and actually placed the camera on the ground. I used auto ISO and WB to rule out something I might get wrong. ISO 320 TV 1/60 AV 4.5 focal length 50mm I sharpened it in DPP and it's nowhere near as sharp as Wags' Thanks for posting the original Wags, I can see now photoscape makes a massive difference.
-
see, I dont get it, shallow depth of field, very slow shutter speed and yet pin sharp, mine dont come out like that. Thanks very much wags.
-
thanks for that site Pers. I think alot of the time because I am often in bad lighting (indoors, darkish house) I have my lens wide open, or close to it. I might have to force myself to stop it down more (or is that up, anyway, smaller aperture) and increase the ISO more.
-
Look at this, I've asked wags to come in and tell how she got it. I can never get pics to look this sharp.
-
wags I am borrowing your photo for another thread, "It has to be me" because it's lovely and sharp, the way I want to get my photos to look. Please come in and tell me what the details of what setting you had your camera set on and any post processing you did. I'd kill to get a shot like you've got here, well maybe not literally but I really like it. Well done

I've got a fantastic camera and lenses and yet I can never EVER get pics as sharp as I want them to be. I accept that I might miss focus on some shots and I also realise that people often sharpen as part of their post processing, I do too, I use the Canon program DPP but I just dont seem to be able to get them as sharp as I see some here. I know it has to be me, I am not blaming my gear, I just wish I knew what I was doing wrong.

There was quite a bit of too-ing and fro-ing with this saga. They admitted they'd made a mistake and underpaid me and then they said I'd have to wait for the payment or, it I wanted it now I'd have to pay a fee! Since I only make a few sales around Christmas I thought I might have to wait until next year to get the money owed. Eventually they agreed to pay it, so it's all worked out OK in the end but I had to persevere. Just a warning to all, check your accounts. If you made a sale around Dec 7th, make sure you got it.

Penny and the intruder. just kidding, it's really boneses day! Yum!

It's lovely, and the thought behind it is even better. I hope it will become a treasured heirloom. Well done to all who had a hand in making it.
-
we will come and confiscate your camera.
-
You will have so much fun. You're already doing well, I like both these pics what camera are you getting and what lenses.

If it wasn't for Puckys funny foot he would have been sold and I never would have really known what a gorgeous lovely boy he is. I'm so glad I still have him. My perfect little reject.
-
Week 4. My Pucky boy was born with a funny foot and that's why no one wanted him. I am glad cause I got to keep him and I love him dearly. I thought I show his funny foot, he wont mind.

really good pics, gee it's alot drier there than in the Yarra Valley, everything's still green here. Very interesting to see the head carriage of the last horse who wasn't wearing a bridle or tie down and had free movement of its head and neck.

This absolutely glows. Where was it taken, it doesn't look like Australia. all up I think this is currently the best thread on DOL. You are all so creative. I love coming in to look here several times a day. There's just too many to comment on.

He's very cute, so upstanding. Is he eating Lamb tomorrow?

Are any Canon users wanting a little cheapie 50 1.8? Right now it's only $87 at DWI. If you buy it alone it's probably not saving you anything cause they charge a bit for postage, but if a few people wanting it got together and all bought them in one sale it would probably be worthwhile. Hell, I could be tempted, just to have one as a spare, it's such a good little lens. http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/...sp?idProduct=63
