:D I'll keep him on the lead for a couple of days too, cause normally he runs around like a mad thing.

Your poor little pup, ..... and you! My first whippet was accidentally killed by a horse in 1985 and I still cry when I think about her, and I still blame myself. It must have been horrible for you to see that happening to him. As to crating him I think it might just have to be tough titties if he doesn't like it. He needs to be kept quiet for a few days at least. Keep him on a lead around horses from now on and be prepared to hunt any horses off if they come close to threaten him. My Rowdy was a bugger. We'd be out on a ride, dogs trotting beside us, we might have been going for hours and suddenly he'd try to stomp one, as if for sport. I'd give him a clout and tell him to cut it out and he'd so along quietly again.

Thank you Drs. Curlygirl and Poodlefan, I concur with your diagnosis. :D

Poor Tag sliced a chunk of foot off up at the park today. I didn't even realise initially cause he wasn't (and still isn't) limping. It was only when I saw the blood I realised he'd been hurt. It doesn't seem to bother him and apart from the fluff stuck to it, I am inclined to leave it open. Especially as he'll soon be nesting and wont move until morning. Just wanted to see what others would do. and for cute factor, here's an out take, just as I was taking the pic, Nurse Feather came to check.

I love the hot shoe comparison.

that is absolutely amazing. I bet they've become a tourist attraction. Incredible, I dont think I would've beleived it possible if I hadn't seen the pics.

Another action and portrait photo opportunity coming up. Our next whippet fun day will be held Saturday November 20th from about 11am to usually around 2ish, just depends how many people want to keep running their whippets. Here's some examples of shots taken in the past. All these photos were taken by Pete Hulks, not me. Thanks Pete

Phew, I thought it was a greyhound although I have seen whippets with similar toplines, especially in the non ped racing lines where many of them looked like little greyhounds. In whippets I'd like to see smaller, curvier ones. I love the look of my little girl Kibah, she's the style I love and yet I would be unlikely to get another like her when she finally goes And I'd like to see more colours again. When I first started going to shows they were all fawn partis, when I lost interest and stopped going to shows they were all (mainly) big dilute brindle partis. Whippets and greyhounds have the biggest colour variation of any breed, and yet we so rarely see some one them I fear they've just about been bred out. I too would like to see that they can do what they were bred for, hunting and racing but the majority of show people pretty much wrap their dogs in cotton wool. I also hated it when people looked down their noses at my girl (mind you I didn't show her anyway) because she isn't the fashionable style of whippet being shown now. It doesn't mean she is wrong, she just isn't in fashion, but she still meets the standard just the same.

A Great Rescue Story About Two Pit Bulls And Their PupsKirislin replied to Mila's Mum's topic in In The News They were in very good body condition for feral dogs. Obviously there was good pickings on that golf course. I hope they all got good homes in the end.

For side on shots it would be fine, head on is harder. I had a 400d and I've got whippets. You might need a zoom lens though. I've always liked this pic, I took it with the 400D and the crappiest zoom Canon make, the 75-300 non IS non USM

When they showed the memory card slot on the 7D and the battery compartment, I kept thinking Uh oh, where are they going to put it on the comparison camera.

They look lovely, especially that orangy one of poppies?? Isn't that great that your ex teacher wrote to you. You're allowed to call him Rob you'll probably always think of him as Mr Weule though. Well done on selling a print, I hope you sell many more.

Hmmmm, I'm not sure it would work for me, it still needs super fast AF for the doggies.
