  1. I've got a 70-200 2.8 lens that I love, but I'd love more reach for photographing the doggies and possibly wild birds in the distance. What would I need to give me the equivalent of 300 or even 400mm lens and what would I loose in performance.
  2. awwwww poor little bubby, someone get him a towel.
  3. thanks everyone. I love watching them run, they always looks so happy.
  4. I'm pretty sure you dont have to use incense, it was just to give smoke. Maybe you can devise your own way of making smoke, just dont burn the house down. I wanted to get a friend with a cigarette but never got round to it.
  5. Kibah loves them, cruncy little lollies to her. I think they're fine as long as they haven't been sprayed with fly killer first. I wouldn't let my dogs eat sprayed flies, but they are safe here as I dont use them.
  6. Are ferrets good mousers? Would they eat a mouse?
  7. hahaha, I was thinking the same as you tlc. Just thought I'd drop in to let her know I'm thinking of her. I hope it's been a success.
  8. Thanks. If I had wallpaper I could quite happily have this as a border.
  9. Howie ate the last three pages from a mystery novel when he was a bub. :p Thank God I can now leave a pile of books on the bedside table unmolested. How quickly we forget what puppies are like. I think we've all spoken from experience with the advice we've given here. My whippets ate 2 library books that I had to pay full price for to compensate the library. Penny chewed the remote and the phone. Someone else chewed the corner of my photo album and there's numerous other things with teeth marks in them. I dont think I ever blamed the dogs though. I knew it was my own fault.
  10. good luck for tonight, and enjoy being in the limelight, you deserve it.
  11. It's amazing how bendy their spines are, look at the one on the extreme right.
  12. I had an interesting and funny conversation with a bloke the other day. He's got a working border collie in Qld (that he rescued from the Coldstream animal aid ) and he said they put a tracking system on it one day while it was working. At the end of the day it had done 82 kms. The next day they put it on the house dog and at the end of the day it had done 100 mts
  13. OK, this is where I am really REALLY dumb I dont know how to reduce photos to email them. Would you be able to access them and work your magic if I put them individually on flickr?
  14. awww thankyou! I have to say, I have pretty good models though.
  15. Of those born without rear dew claws I'd say it's the inner toe that corresponds with our big toe that they've lost. Did you know there's some breeds with 6 toes on their rear feet though, they might also have 6 on their front ones too, not sure.
  16. What a sissy bark for such a big dog, my whippets have got tougher voices.
  17. I did it in the Canon program and I dont know how to fix it. It's like the previous pic is overlaid on top of the next, I need to be able to swap it so the third pic is on top of the 2nd, if that makes sense, but the program wont let me. thanks KTB
  18. and some with his brother Puck. These boys just love to run.
  19. The chewing thing is really annoying I know, whippet puppies and even some adults are devils for it. I am afraid I dont have any good news for you though, other than it will be up to you to look around and think to yourself, what will she grab to chew. I suspect the answer will be almost anything, and it will be up to you to keep doors shut if you dont want her in there, and anything of value out of reach when she's around. I used to look around and anything new, anything sticking out, anything that smells of you, anything you treasure keep out of her reach. Just a few months ago Penny who is 11 now and hasn't chewed anything for years got a little toy of mine that is about 45 years old and much treasured. It was up on a bookshelf but for some reason she got up there and chewed it to bits. I couldn't bring myself to throw it away, but it's in peices now. It's going to mean a change on your part to deal with this stage but keeping things out of reach is the main way to handle with it. Yes try to discourage her too and give her things she's allowed to have, but she still wont be able to discern what is fair game and what is out of bounds.
  20. I managed to get this of Tag running at the park yesterday, gotta love those 8 frames per second! It took me 5 goes before I got it right.
