  5. I've wanted a ferret or two for years now but I am not confident of my whippets understanding they're not to be chomped.

  9. there's a few more lovely doggie shots there. did you see the poem someone wrote for Jamie?
  10. Here's a photograph of a dead greyhound after she was slaughtered because she didn't show much interest in racing. I know she looks like she's alive but she must be dead going on what Moselle has stated about the ruthless greyhound breeders and trainers.
  11. did he have an especially active day that would've had him exhausted by bedtime? On occasions my whippets have actually wet the bed, without knowing. They weren't sick, just exhausted. Penny did it once or twice after racing, she's even poo'ed in the bed!!!! ewwww! thank goodness they were hard dry little pebbles but I dont like waking up and finding I've been sleeping with a dog turd!!
  12. Just ingore her, please, it was a good thread until it got sidetracked.
  13. I thought you meant you'd been filming with Jan. Sounds good, I love Australian story.
  14. Oh drats! I did it last year but I was working yesterday and also didn't realise it was the worldwide day.
  15. so would I but it's illegal. The only people who can eat the home killed meat are the ones who had it home killed. Maybe if you had a friend they could supply you on the quiet but you cannot legally buy it. You can however get ethically farmed meat, but sadly still those animals must be killed at an abbattoir, so their final journey is still not good. I wish my fences were better and I had the stomach for it and I would get a steer and or a couple of sheep on my land to be killed each year. I think I'd get too attatched to them though. I did eat a rooster of mine once. He tasted good but I kept thinking about who he was when I was eating him.
  16. Whenever I drain my pasta or have to ditch the vegie water I take it outside and pour it on what ever weed I want to kill.
  17. sigh, it just never ends. Cruelty knows no bounds.
  18. It's strayed a bit of your original question hasn't it Nekhbet
  19. Given the choice I would gladly take home killed or hunted meat in preference to abbattior slaughtered. When I say hunted (deer or roo) I have in mind shot while it's grazing or resting, at least not aware it's in the sights of a gun. Just alive one second dead the next. Much more appealing than a poor cow trucked to the slaughter yards and killed while its mates look on. As I understand it animals are stunned and then bled out while their hearts are still beating. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
  20. I cant imagine what that poor horse went through and the owner who must be so distraught. They just showed her on TV and she was a sobbing mess.
  21. Gee, Moselle best not look in this graphic thread showing a whippet on a kill then. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...l=kill&st=0
  22. Nekhbet I really admire your self sufficiency.
  23. I'm planning on tieing mine to a lure coursing lure. I've got a whole frozen fox in a bag in my freezer atm - don't ask. I've got a salted fox skin curing in the garage. It's the most beautiful pelt, I'd love to get it tanned but there's no point, it's for the drag lure and it's just going to get shredded.
