I always have bubble mix at hand due to having a 2 year old. Treble makes the same snappy shark face when he attacks the bubbles  Although Gus is in a class of his own with the ground bubble popping  --Lhok -

yup Aliwake, we did, although the guy who came around wasn't at all interested which was kinda annoying. My dad who is a mechanic fixed the lock too which is awesome as I thought we might have had to wait but he sourced the part from a wrecker in about an hour. Lisa maybe, he seems to howl and grumble at me if I start up the harmonica. He head tilts if I start to sing and he wacks my husband with his paw if he starts to sing  --Lhok -

I'm not entirely sure myself as not more then an hour later there were drunk people walking up the road singing swing low sweet chariot and he didn't even care about it I however did it as the singing was awful. --Lhok -
Well they wouldn't ever stray then? I kid, I didn't even think about that. I have often wondered how Gus would go with a chook, might have to start lurking about petting zoos haha. Possible Birdur.. --Lhok

Yeah I used to used a furminator on my LabxKelpie's coat but I think I would do some damage to Treble's coat if I used one on him. I was looking at a mars coat king though size 18 double. Would that be any good? --Lhok That has blades doesn't it? If it does I wouldn't. Best thing with a spitz is a good comb, slicker and pin brush Any suggestions on good brushes and combs? There are heaps out there and I want something that is good quality :) --Lhok

My hairdryer sucked hard (it barely did anything) rather then blowing all the hair away I think you will be seeing us either tomorrow or sometime within the week :D --Lhok

I feel really stupid too because I was going to get all this last week but I didn't think his coat would blow so early so I held off.. --Lhok

Thank you :) I'll check out the links and have a look at the pupkus dryers :) --Lhok

I hadn't thought of using a hair dryer. I don't have a force dryer and I can't afford to buy one atm. I'll give it a bash with my hair dryer, It has a cool air function on it as I don't want to burn him or his coat. Thanks :) --Lhok

Treble is starting to blow his coat however it isn't coming out in clumps it is sort of weaving into its self and matting up. His pants section is horrible, I have been trying to get it out with a pin and slicker brush after combing through it but it isn't going so well the undercoat I have been pulling out feels similar to wool. helpful hits appreciated. --Lhok

I know I whinge a lot when it comes to training Treble bit tonight I am so thankful he is here. He started barking like I have never heard him before, So I went out the front with him on a lead and he went off his head at 2 teenagers who were hanging around our cars our the front. They took off into the night leaving their screwdiver in the key hole of one of our cars. I'm still in shock about the whole thing. --Lhok -
Why You Shouldn't Shave Your Long Coated Dog
Lhok replied to luvsdogs's topic in General Dog Discussion
Not all double coated breeds come from cold climates. The Canaan dog originates in the middle east/top of africa and has a double coat as it has to live in an area which gets very hot and very cold at night. I wouldn't shave a double coated breed. --Lhok -

I read somewhere way back that a lot of the shepherds would shear their dogs when they did their sheep so I wouldn't be surprised if the OESD coat would be able to handle it. --Lhok -
I'm of no help, but that dog in the bottom photo is gorgeous. --Lhok

I will be sticking with shows that are closer to home which is Coffs harbour. However I'm very new to it all and it looks like Treb's papers have gone walkabout (thanks Aus post  ) and I also have to get renew my DogsNSW membership which I let go due to not needing it, do you think I will be able to renew it even though I haven't used to for 3 or so years or will they give me a new number? I also have a growing list of what I "Must" have for showing which my husband has already eyerolled about.. ok so I put on the list that I want a brand new Nissan pathfinder but surely I need a good dog car yeah.. --Lhok -

I'm pretty excited, I spoke to Treb's breeder and she said she is happy for him to go into the neuter class at shows so I might check that out.. MOAR money to be ripped out of my bank account :D --Lhok -
Yes he is, to date he has ran face first into a garden shed while chasing bubbles, walked into a pole whilst on a walk because I was talking to him and he was trying to score a treat, to which after he fell over he rolled into a mud puddle, He play bowed to a lamb shank instead of eating it and he also play bowed then jumped sideways into a gutter while trying to get a statue to play with him oh and how could forget, almost everyday I have to go help him roll back over because he has forgotten that he is laying on the top of a shallow hill and will go to rub his back then roll over and slides down the hill then gets stuck on his back against the fence. Treble is a bit doofy yes.. --Lhok

I just had a really good look at the photo I put up and you can see how thick his coat is as there is only a little bit of the d ring on the collar poking through, plus you can see the collar outline in his coat. --Lhok
