  1. Yea, Nova gets the runs on even the smallest bit of chicken, chicken based food. I haven't heard much about other people having problems though! Yes Lili has a sensitive stomach. She's had a bad bout of colitis and will get stinky burps if she has really rich foods, too much lamb for example. She has two main coat drops but generally sheds quite a bit! Breeze is fine with most poultry and the usual beef and lamb but she gets tummy upset with other meats like rabbit, kangaroo, duck, etc, even some offal, even if just in small amounts. She burps quite a lot too! I also know of a few other Aussies that do massive burps frequently!! She also has 2 major coat drops but I always say she sheds twice a year for six months at a time. Lili is gross haha she looks at you all adorable and then burps right in your face

  3. I agree, but a dog that is generally fine with other dogs won't necessarily be fine with being mounted.
  4. Some people only have one park near them and there are many reasons to use dog parks, training, exercise etc. Nothing wrong with dogs playing but you should have effective control of your dog and not assume that everyone there is there to have their dog play with other dogs. You don't have more of a right to be there than anyone else. I agree it isn't a great idea to take a dog aggressive dog to an offlead dog park. My dogs are fine with other dogs but I don't expect them to be humped, whether it only lasts for a few seconds or not, and that's hardly polite dog behaviour.
  5. For my Anatolian it's the barking O_o Aussie Shepherd, I actually really struggle to find anything I don't like!! I'll always have one
  6. I would just treat him the same as a desexed dog. If he has no recall he shouldn't be off lead at all but as long as you have him under control I don't see why he couldn't be off lead. For him to impregnate a bitch she would have to be in season so realistically her owner should have control over her also.
  7. I'm sorry but this is exactly the reason I don't go to dog parks. I couldn't think of anything worse than having my dog humped, herded or harassed or chased. perhaps you should try making games with YOU more fun than letting him run self reward on other dogs. It'll make your life easier in the long run. Yep, have to agree, this is one reason we don't use them. One day you may find another dog doesn't take it so well and your dog gets hurt. Your dog should not be humping, herding or otherwise harassing other dogs.
  8. Noone is starting on anything . The poster just spoke about an experience she had with a certain type of dog. Out of interest, the most feral attack on our dogs was by a SWF, second worst a Husky and third, a Bulldog. Doesn't mean I have an issue with any of those those/breeds, just how it is.
  9. Couldn't be pyo? How long after their season can that occur?
  10. We don't use them due to some previous bad experiences with dogs trying to start fights. Maybe it's the areas we live in but most people in the parks here have no control over their dogs, nor do they care, and it's just stressful.
  11. She'd better be careful out in public after writing this! What an evil woman.
  12. I don't really have any advice on how to stop the behaviour but wanted to say both of my dogs will grumble at each other on occasion if one gets in the others face. It never escalates and I just see it as communication. They're both 7 now and ave always done it. Sometimes they'll snuggle but more often they get grumpy if the other other one lies on/against them. Otherwise they get along fine and always have. I can understand your worry though. Is there just the one bed? If so I'd get another bed so they can both have their own space.
  13. What the actual f***? "Don't judge me too harshly" ????? Oh I'll judge you love, I hope you fall down a well.
  14. It'll be fine but it is a bit cheeky to sell so close to expiry without an extra discount! Maybe tell them and see if you can get get a discount on the next bag?
  15. It's hard to know isn't it I know with our wee Chihuahua x, she got to 17 and although she had no physical illness as such, started walking into rooms occasionally and just staring at the wall, seeming generally disorientated and just not her usual happy, waggy self. That was when we called it time. All the best in making the decision, it isn't an easy one, but I know I'd rather do it a day too early than a day too late.
  16. Yeah it would help in that way you're right. Omg, seriously, they are absolutely terrifying! Feral kittens are my worst nightmare Big difference between feral and semi feral too which if caught young enough can be brought around.
  17. I don't really think so. My dogs would likely chase or possibly kill a stray cat in their yard but that doesn't mean I think they'd bite a hand coming through the fence. They've also both never really been in a serious fight or made contact with their teeth on a human so I have nothing to go on there. One of mine will bark at people walking past the house but is the friendlier of the two with people and other dogs and is a guarding breed so it's just how he is. I honestly don't see how you could predict something like this unless you had seen signs of aggression toward people previously there are too many variables IMO.
  18. I think trap neuter and release can work in some places but I don't really like it here. It's basically just neutering predators and then leaving them out there to kill our native animals It's a hard one. I hate anything being killed but wild cats are such a danger to our wildlife and, realistically as you said it's hardly a good life for them either. Working in shelters I've heard so many people talking about "taming" them and have to wonder if they've ever actually had contact with an adult feral cat!! I agree 1080 isn't the best way to go though, awful stuff
  19. The dog didn't actually remove her hand as I understand it. The hand had to be removed at hospital, so the dog didn't sever bone or anything. Snap teekay/Maddy just saw your posts.
  20. Same here. I always support Australian products when I can but I won't buy something I don't like or that doesn't suit me just because its Australian.
  21. As long as she isn't racing around and jumping on and off things I wouldn't worry too much. How does her wound look? Keep an eye out for redness or any oozing.
